Mario Williams - Mr. Invisible - Explain it
KOKBILLS replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually The Bills moved Bruce around a bit...Especially when they felt they had a big mismatch...He still played the majority of Downs at RDE...But they moved him... -
Depends on when he gets hurt...We've already won 2 Games so getting that #1 Overall is going to be tough...But if we could somehow turn a Fitz injury into Geno Smith, then I would say nothing could help this Franchise more...Nothing... Yep...There is certainly nothing better than Fitz currently on our Roster...No question about that... Now...On West Virginia's Roster that may be a different story...
-
Meh...Whatever...Every year there is a small faction that defends Fitz...And every year that faction gets smaller and smaller...If you don;t think the Bills are far off at QB then you have accepted the mediocrity that is Fitz...And best of luck with that! And I'm not saying this Team does not have other problems either...DUH! It would not be the Buffalo Bills otherwise...But we're not good enough at QB...And as long as it's Fitz that will probably be the case unless we establish a dominant run game...The chances of being a playoff team with Fitz at QB are slim and none...But if it's going to happen any year, this is the year because of the schedule.....We'll see...But I'm not holding my breath...
-
If by this point, if you don't see what and where the problems lie with Fitz, I think it's safe to say you're never going to see them...And I'll put it out there one more time...Don't concentrate so much on what he can do...Because what he can do most any elite NFL QB can do, only better...Concentrate on the plays he leaves on the table...The inaccuracies that kill drives, and worst case scenario, like the under-thrown INT to Graham last Sunday, cost The Bills points and momentum...Those are the type plays that will forever keep Fitz from reaching his potential...Which in turn will keep the Bills always just out of the Playoff picture...He's the ultimate tease at QB...Just good enough to make you think he can do it long-term...Then he breaks your heart... Of course if the Defense plays the way they did vs the pats the Playoffs are a non-issue regardless...Even if Fitz plays out-of-his-mind...

Mooreman... Anyone else feel this way?

I totally agree they were demoralized...And a lot of that had to do with the Game Plan (Coaching), and the fact that they were trampled for 3 Quarters and completely spent by the 4th...The problem is I think we are both right...And that does not bode well for this Defense whatsoever...Not 1/4 into the season...There is a lot to be done here...And now, very little time, and even less room for error...

Well...I'm not trying to defend Wanny at all...I'm really not...Outcoached or not (and I'm not disagreeing...they were outcoached) you've got hundreds of millions of getting whipped on that D-Line...You see other Teams with similar talent creating havoc on every down with their front 4...Individuals making plays one-on-one...Guys beating their man on the line and making plays in the backfield...D-Line play is not as much about scheme as the back 7...It's about getting the job done on every down...beating your man...Fighting off the block and making plays...That is not happening with Buffalo's D-Line nearly enough...I'm not saying whatsoever that Wanny is doing a great job...I am saying those guys on the D-line are doing him no favors...And he is basing his WHOLE Defensive Game Plan on those D-Lineman not only playing well, but playing exceptionally...Like they are being paid to do... And I'll ask you again the question I posted above...Dareus or Peterson?...Dareus or AJ Green, Watt, Smith, or Jones? This Kid should be a terror out there...He's not...And that is killing this Defense because they desperately need him to be that terror...He can do it too...But the time has come...We need him to be dominant...Not just good...Dominant...Peterson, Green, Watt, Smith, and Jones are all headed to the Pro-Bowl this year...We need Dareus to be there with them... And to me at least Wanny second guessing himself to those Players is actually the most troubling thing concerning his Coaching ability...Should he have played Shep and Moats more? Most definitely...But what I would rather hear is Wanny telling these ridiculously paid D-Linemen to get up off their asses and start dominating like they are being paid to do...That would be good Coaching...Like I said I'm not defending Wanny at all...But I am also going to keep it real...I know what I see...I see 4 down lineman getting blocked and staying blocked...And that is a HUGE problem...They better fix it quick...Or this Season is over...

That quote (along with a couple more I heard today) is REALLY testing my faith in Mr Gailey...
-
I certainly was not crazy about the way Wanny called that game...But when you have about $200 million getting routinely whipped on every down when the one thing you are assuming is that those guys will beat their man...It's tough...Mario, Marcel, KW, Kelsay, and Anderson should all give refunds for that performance...Not only did they get blocked, they got blocked exactly the way the pats wrote it up...Those running plays were in perfect rhythm...They were getting blocked at the point and staying blocked...No disruption, no one making a difference...It was a pathetic performance by a bunch of guys who are supposed to be good... Dareus is not playing up to being the #3 Draft Pick (Patrick Peterson, AJ Green, JJ Watt, Aldon Smith, or Julio Jones anyone? Anyone?)...This is a kid I love, a kid who was thought to be the Top Prospect in the entire 2011 Draft by a ton of Scouts...But anyone (including me) that thinks Dareus is living up to that #3 overall pick so far, especially in that Draft, is nuts...He's not disrupting much of anything...And he's a DT...We should be seeing the dominance by now...Mario? Well...I know no one will believe me...But back when we signed him, I heard Buddy say that Mario wanted to come to a Team that played a 4-3, and would leave him at LDE, I knew that was weird...You're not going to take your best Pass Rusher and move him around? At least a bit? Whatever...KW is awesome, he just had a bad Game, but like they said on the radio today, KW has been in the middle of a LOT of games just like that one...Anderson? I don't know...Looks OK at times and out of control others...Kelsay? Nevermind... Wanny needs these guys to play up to the hype or he's well...You know the word...You don't look for smoke and mirrors when you supposedly have one of the best D-Lines in the NFL...You're expecting them...hell you should be demanding that they create havoc...And that is simply not happening...

No...I don't feel that way at all...His time was up here...He made plenty of killer kicks in Buffalo the past few years...Followed by a shank or two...So... Powell was not just any other Rookie either...You should read up on him a bit...In time he'll make everyone forget about Moorman... Buh bye... -

I only heard the re-cap...Simon usually follows up when they slip like that...Maybe he was still punch drunk from watching that crap yesterday...BTW I'm a huge Howard Simon fan... -
So...Greatly under-throwing a wide open TJ Graham, resulting in an INT is not a Game changer because the Pats went 3 and out following that? Really?...That was 6 right there...I promise you a HC is not looking at that INT and saying it's OK because The pats did not follow it up with a score...It was a missed GOLDEN opportunity...The type you get only once or twice a game...Then he over compensates and overthrows the next time he has a man open deep...Another example was the throw to a wide-open Stevie Johnson that led him out of bounds...These are opportunities that the top QB's absolutely kill you on...Fitz reads them, but all to often he can't back it up with his arm...Those plays change the game in many ways because they also frustrate the hell out of the guy that beat his man soundly...And against Brady, and the Pats, you damn well need every one you can get... I get your point, and it has some validity...But...Just saying...
-
Impossible to say it any better than that!

Good point... -
Unless the Bills completely tank and go anywhere from 2-14 to 6-10, OR something happens (you know what it is) and new Ownership is in place, the HC next year will be Gailey...Like it, or don't like it...Learn to love it...

Is it time yet to look forward to the Draft?

Barkley?... Geno Smith will be the prize in this Draft...Barkley might not go Top 15... Or a Safety...Either because they let Byrd walk, or to replace Wilson... -

I have to say that I've been a pretty big Chan supporter...I like the guy...Can't help it... But... I'm not sure why this comment pissed me off so much today...But in his interview this AM on WGR Gailey said he had never been in a Game like that...A Game that swung like that so dramatically...And I was thinking...Are you freaking kidding me?...Up 21-0 at NE...Just last year Chan...And we end up losing 49-21...And you've never been in a Game like that? It was 4 freaking Games ago...When I hear that I wonder...I REALLY wonder what we have in Chan...NIce guy? Yes...Decent Offensive mind? Yes again...Head Coach that is going to light a fire under these underachieving bums? Maybe not so much... -
That very true statement makes me want to cry... All that may very well be true... But Fitz is still not good enough...And he's the QB...
-
I'm too young for Johnny U Bro!!!...
-
It's been said ad nauseum...This is a QB's league...Even with the terrible Defense and the fumbles, if Fitz does not throw the INT's, The Bills have a chance...Maybe they don't win...But it's closer...That's the thing about the QB position...Everything is magnified, and for good reason...One of his INT's could have gone for 6 points with an accurate throw...Then he over-throws another WR with a step deep...He does make good throws, but against good Defenses he routinely makes too many mistakes... So yes there were other factors today...But when a QB throws 4 INT's it's pretty much always the leading factor...And again, there is a reason for it...
