If that's all you see what watching Geno Smith then...You need to watch more...He makes an absolute ton of throws all over the field...He's certainly not perfect...But he definitely makes short, intermediate, and long passes...And he can throw them on a rope when his mechanics are sound...Also, Smith is known to be a real good study...He lives Football... "He's a very intelligent kid," WVU HC Dana Holgorsen said of Smith. "His goal in life, his focus in life, is to learn as much about football as he possibly can. He loves to read. He loves to draw. He's got some hobbies. But I guarantee you, when he's reading and drawing, he's still thinking about football."

What Kind of QB Prospect Would You Pick?
KOKBILLS replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly would rather be hung by my toenails than stick with Fitz to do anything other than hold a clipboard...He's not good enough, he never was, and he never will be...No Fitz...Please for the love of all things good...No Fitz in 2013...I'll take my lumps with any Rookie...And I mean ANY Rookie over Fitz... -
It pains me to say it, but I think you are far more right than wrong concerning KW...You simply cannot have a Defense that gets run on the way Buffalo's Defense gets run on, then turn around and say you have a Pro Bowl caliber DT...Williams is VERY good at times, then he's gone...poof! He'll make a play in the backfield then you don't hear from him for 2 quarters...then he'll make another play...I think as far as effort and grit goes, the guy is great...But Offense go right at the interior of The Bills D-Line constantly and those holes are gaping...There is no way Williams or Dareus can be considered elite DT's until this Bills Defense can put a lid on those massive holes, and start being consistent vs the run game in, and game out...

What Kind of QB Prospect Would You Pick?
KOKBILLS replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 2013 prospects have a wide range of upside, and downside...To me at least, Geno Smith looks more like the QB's of the future in the NFL...Guys who can pass it REAL well, stretch the field with their arms, then turn around and kill you with their running ability...It makes play calling SO much easier, especially when you have a weapon like CJ Spiller in the same backfield...If I'm going to get my preference, I want a kid like Smith...But there is only one Geno Smith in this Draft...So after that you just have to grab the next best guy and build around his skills... -
Bray will be over-drafted the same way Osweiler was...Bray has a REALLY good arm and he's tall...I doubt very much if he makes it out of the 2nd Round...Not saying that is where he should go, just saying QB's with his type of skill set will get over-drafted 100% of the time...Plus...In Bray's defense...I watched 3 Tennessee games this year...And in each game I watched I could not believe the dropped passes...And a couple were sure 6 deep passes right on the money...Scouts will see that on film I promise you, and it will help Bray move up... Glennon is a much better overall prospect that Bray for sure...He's thicker too...And that's going to be important when he gets hit...Because they ALL get hit...Bray looks like a twig...He looks like he'll snap in two... And Smith, Glennon, Jones, or Wilson in the 1st...

Chan is a great coach...if he gets a great QB

Exactly! -
Well I don't know about gaga...Is that the singing chick? But I do wonder when I read comments like this #1 how much have you actually watched the top prospects for the 2013 Draft? And #2 how much have you actually watched Fitz? Because regardless of the fact that there is no Andrew Luck in the 2013 QB class, there are a bunch of young QB's that make me pretty excited when faced with the reality of what the Bills have right now...I think in that context some may even get a little gaga...Whatever that means...
-
One could argue that certainly...I would disagree only because it's QB we're talking about...Any other position and I'm with you 100%... What I think is actually more likely would be for Te'o to drop a bit due to a average 40 time...Now, if the Bills snagged a QB 1st then traded back into the 1st for Te'o I would be thrilled...You never know... He's moving up (again) I will say that much...He's going to battle Tyler Wilson for the 3rd QB taken...At least that's the way I see it...He's a definite possibility for The Bills because Smith and Glennon may both be gone before they pick in the 1st...I give Landry credit...There was a time when it looked like he was lost and had squandered all his hype...He bounced back quite well this year and had some absolutely monster games when he could have just crumbled...That tells me something about the guy...You have to like him for that much...
-
He's not a human statue...He's a pocket passer playing behind an average ACC O-Line...He's going to have to play QB in the NFL the way Brady and Flacco do...He's not going to give you a running threat...But I will say this much...His pocket presence, in College at least, is better than Fitz's...He will slide in the pocket to buy that extra second or two...And when he takes off he's definitely faster than Brady...So there is a path for success for a big-armed guy like Glennon...I think he's no higher bust factor than Flacco was...
-
I think you, and quite a few others, have prematurely jumped on the Te'o train before all the facts are in...Don't get me wrong, the kid is a great person and a very good player...Just wondering what all of these Te'o backers will say if the kid can't run Sub 4.7...Don't assume that he can do in the NFL what he did in College...He's not Patrick Willis, or Ray Lewis coming out...He's not that caliber athlete...And you can get good LB's later, especially in the 2nd Round...The last thing The Bills need to do is assume they can Trade back into the 1st Round for a QB that ends up going higher than they think he will...Then your guy is gone and once again it's slimmer pickings...If they like a QB in the 1st, they damn well better take him with their 1st Pick...Period...You don't pass on a potential Franchise QB, especially when you basically have nothing at the QB position on your current Roster, for an ILB...Ever...
-
I mostly agree...Though I do worry about his arm strength and size...I don't think Barkley is a 1st Round QB Prospect...I just don't...That's not to say that I don't think he's got some ability...Because he does...I have said all along that the kid is though as nails, and that the situation at USC is not where near as good as some folks think it may be...That O-Line is just terrible at pass blocking...Just awful...And Barkley got pummeled behind it...Just go back and watch the Stanford game...I felt bad for the kid...He got absolutely battered in his Sr. season...
-
I don't think so...But I do think he will be the 2nd QB taken, and both could go in the Top 5... At the end of the day Glennon's athletic ability is going to knock him down ever so slightly...He's actually not a bad athlete for his length, but he's no Kaepernick...That's for certain...I think between the two I like what Geno brings to the table just a bit more because he is a dual threat...Not to the level of RGII or Cam Newton...But Geno is a decent running QB, he's just a pass 1st QB... But anyway...I'd take either for The Bills in a heartbeat...

Thank you!!! Well said and exactly correct... -

KOKBILLS replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No...And it would remain a concern... But a great QB all but assures he does not have to make nearly as many of those tough decisions... Just saying... Agreed... I'm not the biggest Gailey Fan in the world...But I think the Fitz's play is 100 times more damaging to the Bills than Gailey's suspect Coaching...If Fitz plays really well, Gailey is a good enough Coach... -

KOKBILLS replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One can only hope... *Fingers crossed* I will go on record right here and predict Tebow will never be an efficient, consistent Starter in the NFL...His skill set is not good enough, and there is no such thing as an Offensive Coordinator that can design a successful Offense around his strengths, because his strengths are too few...Y'all can remind me later if I'm wrong...But I doubt that's gonna happen... Great kid...Not so good NFL QB... -
I don't think Dareus can be considered a great pick (so far) under any form of evaluation...He's underachieved, playing in the middle of one of the worst NFL Defenses (especially vs the run) in the entire NFL...Add to that fact The Bills passed on no less than 5 players who are among the very best at their position in the entire NFL in favor of Dareus...How can Dareus be considered a good pick? I just don't get it??? It was a good pick on Draft day, but that's only because most Scouts (just like The Bills Scouts) over valued Dareus, and under valued guys like Watt and Aldon Smith... Maybe Dareus will one day be a good pick...But definitely not unless he gets serious about his weight...He needs to be around 315-320...And from this point on he's got a wicked uphill climb to match some of the guys in his Draft Class...A HUGE uphill climb...

Ouch!

Spiller is the best pick so far...Even though it was a dumb move IMHO... I think in time Cordy Glenn could be right up there with the Spiller pick...We'll see...

The QB you Draft in the 2nd would be better than Tebow from Day #1...Then what?... I'll go on record right now that if I could be 1000% against bringing Tebow in, I would be...But I can only be 100% against it...So be it...I like the kid a lot as a person, and as a College QB...Don't like him at all as a Pro QB...I think he's terrible...And if you bring him in for a year to see what happens, you're risking wasting that year when you could be getting a real prospect much needed NFL experience... They would not say anything if he could play the traditional QB position in the NFL... Believe me I wish Tebow was better than he is...How can you not like the guy? But he's just not a good QB... -

I don't think so...I think they see him in Practice and he sucks, just like they said...They may be a bit jelly...who knows? But I think the evidence that they are not lying about his ability is crystal clear considering he can't wrestle the job away from a complete train-wreck like Sanchez...If they are going with McElroy it's pretty clear Tebow can't run their Offense...Gasbags or not, it still does not make Tebow a viable option at QB in the NFL... -
Success allows continuity...And when you have success, continuity makes total sense...Continuity does not necessarily assure success...And preaching continuity when you have had terrible results is just stupid...Here's an idea...Lets stick with what is not working for the sake of continuity!!! Just stick with it long enough and success is going to magically appear!!! It's dumb...really, really, dumb...
