  1. I just don'ft think there is any way to ignore the fact that all three of the top OT's are considered better prospects than the kid that went #1 overall last year...I realize that goes for a few other prospects in this Draft at other positions as well...But if you're considering an OT, these guys may be too good to pass up...
  2. Not really... Great Blue North had him rated #67 overall...CBS.com had him at #110 overall...National Football Post had him at #102...etc... Now...He's going to drop a bit due to his workouts...But going into the Combine he was considered a 3rd-5th Rd prospect...
  3. I think you make good points...But assuming Watkins is gone, which I think is at least a decent assumption...what then? My feeling is the Bills should gamble on greatness with Evans if that happens...But I have to admit I would be OK with Ebron, Matthews, or Lewan as well...I do agree O-Line can be had easier throughout the Draft...But I also think in Lewan and Matthews you are looking at 2 players that easily could have gone #1 overall last year...They are unquestionably elite prospects talent-wise at their position...Plus...Lets face it...Like it or not we have an ex NFL O-Lineman, and ex NFL O-Line coach, as a HC who is determined to run the ball more than any team in the NFL...That's his MO, and I don't think for a second he's going to back away from it...So I'm guessing if Watkins is gone he's going to be banging that table really hard for whatever OT is still around at #9... We can discuss all day what the proper strategy is...And we will...But the reality is Marrone is the HC and has a vision for this Offense...And more than anything, whatever that vision may be, it will determine how they use that pick at #9...My guess is he will want the OT...But maybe he surprises me...The only thing I think I know for certain is that it will be one of the top rated Offensive players...I doubt any Defensive player will tempt him and Whaley outside of Mack...And I still think in the end they will pass on Mack for Lewan, Matthews, Ebron, or Evans...We'll see though...This should be pretty interesting no matter what...
  4. Agreed...And though it's unlikely, it is possible...Mack would be hard to pass at that point...But I still think, based on need and overall grade, Lewan, Evans, and Ebron would still be in play even if Mack was there...That would leave the Bills with one heck of a tough decision...
  5. The good news is I don't think there is a snowballs chance in hell Evans makes it to #18 overall...Of course the Jets could always trade up... At #18 they'll be looking at Marqise Lee or Kelvin Benjamin...And maybe Ebron if he slides a bit...
  6. Ya...He's as good as tagged...But I guessing we all knew that... I do think they will try to move him...Hopefully they will get creative and look at all the options...I've been saying forever and a day they won't be able to get more than a 2nd for Byrd...But maybe they can swing a deal and get a good player in return instead...They resurrected Jerry Hughes career...There has to be a way to move Byrd and come out with something decent if teams are unwilling to give up higher Draft picks...
  7. That hurt my eyes... I think I have a lawsuit here...
  8. I agree...Mack projects just about anywhere...He's a 3-down LB with great skills... Though I think there is basically no chance the Bills go Defense in the 1st round, if they did, I would certainly hope it's Mack...
  9. Haha!!! No worries...I was just confused...
  10. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think there is much of a chance The Bills go Defense in Round #1...I'd put the chances at about 5% right now after seeing the top talent on Offense the past two Combine days...I'm uncertain whether they will go OT, WR, or Ebron...But I don't think it will be a Defensive player...In fact I would be absolutely shocked if they went Defense in the 1st round...They want to get as much talent around EJ as they possibly can...Just listen to what is coming out of Marrone, Whaley, and the media machine at OBD, and read between the lines...It will be Offense in the 1st...And probably the 2nd as well...
  11. Huh?... I was responding to the question asking why Bryant's stats were lacking at Clemson...And my guess is they were lacking because he played the same position as Watkins and Hopkins at the same school...
  12. Sam likely dreams he had Maybin's athletic ability...Maybin was a decent athlete with great size for a 3-4 OLB...He simply was not a very good football player...Sam is a decent football player but he's stiff in the hips, not very fast, and not very explosive...He was considered a mid round pick before the Combine and all the other stuff...This performance today will further push him down...I'm guessing he's borderline draftable at this point...
  13. I'm guessing sharing the field with Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins had a lot to do with it... They will...
  14. Oh I would... And again it's nothing against the kid who may very well become a heck of an NFL player... To me that would be no different than Drafting Spiller when you already have Lynch and Jackson...It's just not the way to build a team IMHO...It would be D-line building, not team building...
  15. That may very well be 100% true...And if it is I'm guessing Marrone and Whaley will jump off the deck of that Titanic before the thing even sinks...
  16. Maybe so...But even if he elevates he not coming to Buffalo...I'd just about bet my life on it...
  17. I thought Brandon and Marrone had a connection through SU? I always assumed the way Brandon talked about Marrone that he was Russ' first choice...
  18. No offense to Donald...But the Bills will pass him at #9 first and foremost because he's not graded that high (most everything I've seen has him in the 20-30 area)...Also because they have MUCH bigger needs and there will be higher graded prospects at those need areas...

  20. My inclination is to believe that when Brandon took control he knew it was only a matter of time before Whaley was elevated...And he wanted that...So I'm assuming the decision to bring Marrone in was Brandon and Whaley in full agreement...That basically makes Brandon, Whaley, and Marrone connected at the hip...I would not be surprised at all if this is a calculated spin by those three to cut the "lifers" off at the knees...Brandon is fully aware of the ability this fan base has in effecting change...He's a marketing guy for pete's sake...If that's what is actually happening here it's brilliant...And I would absolutely love Brandon, Whaley, and Marrone for it...
  21. It's awesome Bro...Can't recommend it enough...
  22. The very idea that Littman and Overdorf may have "significant control over football matters" is well beyond disturbing for me as a Bills fan...
