I work from home and almost always have some kind of NFL Draft podcast or video going on in the background...I'm not 100% sure who it was...Maybe Daniel Jeremiah...But they were sayong some teams view TJ Green as a CB and due to his size/speed he could go in the 2nd...Thought that was interesting...

Jarran Reed On Bills - "We'd Be Unstoppable"
KOKBILLS replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed... If we are going off what Rex has sought in the past Vernon Butler, Chris Jones, and Nkemdiche are the fits...I like Jones best of the three because I think he can play more 0 and 1 technique than the other two...I would not touch Nkemdiche in the 1st...He scares me... -
Let's just start with three 1st Round picks in three years for two WR's is ill-advised and leave it there...

JW sez Bills going D with first pick
KOKBILLS replied to Thurmal34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could not possibly agree more... And I know on this board that may come as a complete shock to you... -
I appreciate the info from someone who has watched him more than I have... I like Voch Lombardi a lot...Most of what I do starts with his film sessions...He's not perfect by any means...But I like him because, regularly, he's ultra-critical...Even when a kid looks good on tape he'll point out whether or not he has the athletic ability and quicks to do it in the NFL...I like him because he does not allow me to get overly excited about players when they look good in College tape... Like I said I watched 2 games of Scooby, which certainly is not a full look at his College career...To be fair he did have a great, great Sophomore year...But goodness...I was not impressed at all...Looked to me like he read the play right a lot but could not get there...I saw him get caught up in the trash with my own two eyes...And get pushed around by OG's...Maybe it's a post-injury thing...Maybe I just watched the wrong games...I was not paying any attention to that...I could not watch him anymore...He's just not an NFL caliber athlete based on what I saw...Maybe it was still the injuries...On the last play I watched, the Offense isolated a RB out of the backfield on him...It was a swing pass...He read it fine but could not get there, missed the ankle tackle and there goes the RB for a big gain...I turned it off... Maybe he can get healthier...He was dealing with two different injuries...It's just hard for me to get past how un-athletic he looked to me...Top heavy and slow with those choppy steps... The thing is when I see guys like Scooby...And to an extent I feel the same way about Ragland...And Ragland is twice the athlete Wright is...When you have a guy who is playing off the line and he can't run, it's like he's got a target on his back...NFL teams are going to isolate him in drops and one-on-one match-ups and they are going to exploit the heck out of him...It's a passing league...They are going to find him...If Clemson could do it to Ragland in College you have to believe NFL Offensive coordinators will do it to Wright on every play...He can't hide out there... But no question I could be wrong about him...I see comparisons varying from Zach Thomas to Burfict...I just don't see it...But we'll see...
-
It's just talk...I've seen him all over the place... He's a 6-1 CB with speed who played REAL well at times vs. very good competition as a Freshman...If his off-the-field stuff checks out it only takes one team...And CB's with his skill set tend to rise... I'm not saying he goes as high as the 3rd, but there is a buzz out there...I see him as more of a 4th-5th Rd prospect with a real nice skill set to mold...
-
He has one of the shortest strides I've ever seen...Choppy runner...He's instinctive but he does not have the athletic ability to get to the ball...Gets caught up in the trash a lot...Teams LOVED to isolate him with a RB coming out of the backfield to expose his slowness...I just could not watch anymore...I don't think he's an NFL player...Not even on Special Teams... Love the Reader idea... Morrison is SO slow...But he's such a leader and a gamer it's hard not to like him late...
-
Of all the tape I've watched online with Scout commentary, and believe me I've watched a TON, there is no single player they have ripped on more than Scooby Wright... One quote... "Scooby Wright looks like he's running with cement shoes in quicksand..." I watched through two games of his tape and switched...He's just not very good...
-
I've watched three games of film on Correa...I like him a lot...I think the most important aspect to his game is that he knows his assignment and his responsibilities and does his job pretty well most of the time... As far as being a natural pass rusher...He's certainly not bad...They used him in stunts a lot...He's got a nose for the QB... I think he can be effective dropping...To an extent...He's never going to be Jamie Collins or anything like that...But like I said, I like his football smarts...I think if you give him a job and coach him up he'll be fine...

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I like Spence as a football player (truth be told there's not much to dislike on-the-field), I keep coming back to what fits and what does not fit in Rex's Defense...And of all the good edge rush guys I think Spence may fit the least...He's not an OLB...He's too slow to cover and very, very rarely did it in College...He's on the smaller side...He's not fast...Look at the last 3 D-Linemen that were Drafted for/by Rex...Wilkerson, Richardson, and Coples...These were all VERY big dudes...And they still played Coples outside... Spence is a picture perfect fit for a 4-3 DE...But I'm not sure about him in Rex's Defense, especially when you're talking about replacing Mario...I think if you're going to take him and have him stand up and do nothing else but rush the passer...Then he would be OK...But I think the OLB's in Rex's scheme have more responsibilities than that... I just feel like adding one of these big DT's to the rotation that can play multiple positions on the front is the way they are going to want to go to fill what I think is the biggest hole, and that's the hole left by Williams departure...I don't know if Spence fits...I'm not even sure Lawson or Dodd fit...Heck...They do not think Jarius Wynn fits on the D-line...I know Chris Jones, Vernon Butler, and Jarran Reed fit...Nkemdiche fits great too...but...you know... -
I want to explain this one first...I used PFF's Big Board as a guideline...Fanspeaks updated board for the Draft... I really loved the results...I'm going to reach for Cardale in the 3rd in every mock because I just think at #80 he's worth the dice roll... I want Jones in the 1st and I've already explained a million times why...I really don't see him as a boom or bust type because I think his floor is good enough...I backed it up with Reader because I see him as a pure 0 or 1 technique...I think even if he's simply a plugger/stalemate NG that's good enough...And I think those two give Rex all kinds of flexibility along with the depth for a decent rotation to keep everyone fresh throughout the game... I could have had Sheppard, Boyd, Fuller, or Braxton Miller in the 2nd...I think Sheppard gives you more overall and he's got great hands...Correa in the 4th is a no-brainer to me...I don't see him as plug-and-play type as a Rookie...But on 3rd Down he should help a lot... I Drafted Kearse and Feeney specifically for their size/speed with the idea that they have the athletic ability to match up with TE's in coverage...Now...I don't think either is a finished product in that area by a long shot...But both are tall, long, and fast enough...Feeney is a former Safety and brings additional ability as a Pass Rusher (8 sacks and 17.5 TFL's in 2015)... I Drafted Morrison because he visited, they need depth at ILB, he's a leader, and a gamer...Albeit a painfully slow gamer... 19: R1P19 DT CHRIS JONES MISSISSIPPI STATE 49: R2P18 WR STERLING SHEPARD OKLAHOMA 80: R3P17 QB CARDALE JONES OHIO STATE 117: R4P19 OLB KAMALEI CORREA BOISE STATE 139: R4P41 S JAYRON KEARSE CLEMSON 156: R5P17 DT D.J. READER CLEMSON 192: R6P17 OLB TRAVIS FEENEY WASHINGTON 218: R6P43 ILB ANTONIO MORRISON FLORIDA

I'm assuming Rankins will be gone before #19...If he's still there, I'm AOK with it if he's the pick... Even though...full disclosure...I'm kind of hoping Rankins does not fall...I prefer Jones, Reed, and Butler for the Bills Defense...I worry a bit about Rankins size and exactly how versatile he'll be in the NFL...I think the Bills need a player that can play some...not all, but some... 0 and 1 technique...And I think Rankins is just too small for that job...Which means Dareus has to play it more...And I'm OK with Dareus playing some nose...But I don't want him in there all the time...It's a waste of his talent... In no way is this meant to be a knock on Rankins...I just think there may be better fits...We'll see...

Then why to Buffalo? -
.'m just not a big fan of Nkendiche...I could ignore a lot of the on-the-field stuff if he was clean off-the-field...But I think when you add them both together there's just no reason to risk it at #19...If he falls to #49 we'll see... No...I don't need to read the story...

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is exactly it with Jones...Like just about every other Draft pick ever he's not perfect...But when he's good he's jaw-dropping good...And he's a player on the rise...The right pro coaching and the right scheme the sky is the limit... -
You're 100% correct...Thing is the Bills are now well aware of the fact that everybody knows this trend...That's why they stopped announcing visits...And a full year later I would not be at all surprised if they find other ways to do their due diligence, and are now looking to be a little more covert...It's just a guess on my part...

Draft Time - Who would you love, hate, and expect
KOKBILLS replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK...First, advocating for three consecutive 1st Rd picks in three years on two WR's just falls deaf on me...I think it's poor team building...And I don't think that Treadwell is worthy of that kind of gamble...That's not to say I don't think he's good...Time will tell of course...But with the holes the Bills have on Defense I think it's akin to team building suicide...And you open up potential Cap problems at WR in the future...Just makes zero sense to me... I think you have a point with Robinson...I'm not a huge fan of his...But...I have watched 6 tapes of Chris Jones...Every Down...3 times now...I feel like I'm pretty much a self-proclaimed Chris Jones expert...And...full disclosure...He's the guy I want the Bills to pick at #19...To be honest no one other than Sheldon Rankins gives me pause on that thought...I don't know how it's humanly possible to watch Jones and call him pedestrian...When he's using proper technique, using his hands, extending his arms, and attacking 50% of the O-lineman trying to block him he is virtually unstoppable...He has the ability, and shows it often enough, to explode off the ball and cause havoc in the backfield...He's 6-6-310 and runs a 5.0 flat 40...He could certainly get a little stronger...and he will...But 26 reps for a guy who has longer arms (34 1/2") than DeForest Buckner, who is an inch taller, is certainly not bad,,,He can play the 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 techniques, and has at Mississippi St... As I've said here before I know the knocks on Jones all to well...Here's the thing...EVERY prospect in this Draft has holes...Every single one...They can be nitpicked to death if that is your thing...But here's what I think about all that concerning Jones...He was the best player on his team...Certainly the best player on their Defense...When you look at a game like the A&M game they clearly had a plan for him...He was double teamed a lot in that game...They ran plays away from him constantly...But if you watch the La tech game, he's just a man among boys...Could he put more effort in to every play? Probably...Not going to deny it...But fatigue is a real thing in College Football...Especially when you're 6-6-310 and playing in the South...It happens...When he gets NFL conditioning, training, diet, etc...I think a lot of that stuff disappears because I see him still firing off the ball late in each game...He's showing effort at the line of scrimmage on most every play...He's a DT...He's not an OLB...He's not perfect...Not yet at least... The rest I see is technique and coaching...At times he's a little to willing to allow the O-lineman to get 100% of him initially...I'm pretty certain that's because he feels he can whip anyone physically, and that's definitely not good technique...But he still shows plenty when he does the right thing...I think any NFL HC will look at these stalemates and say they can coach him up in a heartbeat...Especially a coach with the last name of Ryan...I don't think he's the most instinctive player...He's not the worst either, and I have heard he's a hard worker and loves the game...He's just a little immature... What you get with Jones is a potential monster...I don't see him as a boom or bust at all...I think his floor is every bit as good as most DT's in this Draft...But his ceiling, if he puts it all together, is sky high...And lastly the Bills are looking for someone to work into that rotation and take heat off of Dareus...I think Chris Jones is picture perfect for that role...Give this kid to Rex and in a year or two he could be every bit as good as Wilkerson if he works hard and learns how to properly use what God gave him... -
Could be...I do have the feeling the Bills are being a little more covert this year knowing the word is out that they Draft guys who visit a lot... I'm definitely on board with Bandit on the Butler over Reed...Not sure about Rankins though...I agree he's a bit limited, but he's so disruptive, despite his size... I like Chris Jones better than any of them though...
