  1. Yep...A national brand...What is the product? Anthrax?...
  2. This is where it begins and ends with me and Rex...The Defense...It's his baby...He stood up and promised excellence...I'm really not the type to kill a guy for falling a little short...I swear I'm not...But truth is the D has fallen woefully short of anything resembling excellence... I really feel the game has passed Rex's Defense by...I think the final proof is how much Rob's Defenses have struggled on other teams recently with completely different personnel...NFL Offenses have caught up... And if Rex can't bring Defensive excellence, then what good is he really? Fun press conferences? I really think the Bills can do better than Rex Ryan...I think it sucks that we're in this position...This is not a fun time...Even though I was not a fan of the hire I understand how this is a decision no one wanted to have to make after only 2 years...And I can see why some folks want to keep him for continuities sake...But I doubt it gets better from here with that guy...I just don't think that he's good enough anymore...
  3. I'm unsure of the reasons...But the eyeball test certainly backs up your point here...They looked terrible out there at times last Sunday...They certainly did not look like a grizzled cold weather team...
  4. From the fans? If so I would say that statement is the definition over overly optimistic... The tide has turned on Rex in a big, big way...It's obvious...No matter where I go...Here, Twitter, FB...It's really obvious folks are fed up with everything Rex...A couple more wins against the poor and handicapped is not going to change it... Name all the great coaches who tell anyone who will listen they are great coaches and know how to win without a great QB, then keep their jobs when they don't...
  5. I'm in favor of a complete house cleaning...But LaCanfora is the hack of all hacks...He's like the King hack...He sucks...And he's pretty much always had it out for the Bills...Not sure why...
  6. 1- All 2 - Rex 3 - Tyrod 4 - Whaley 5 - Brandon
  7. Good point! Seriously, I never thought of it like that...But it's a great point!
  8. I just wonder if Pegs and the bunch up there are really that naive to be fooled by that potential 9-7...I mean...If they get there, and beat Miami, that's still no better than 2-6 vs teams with winning records this year...And everyone knows that would be 1-7 if Brady played the game at NE...Is there any better way to judge a teams progress towards improvement then how they fare against the better teams in the NFL when they play them head-to-head? 9-7 or not this team is so far away from being a contender...I don't know...I hope they are not that stupid...
  9. Knew you would bring some Murray hate to this thread eventually...
  10. I know folks are beating up on Dareus...for good reason...But technically I have to admit he's more than likely correct...After all the Bills are 5-1 vs teams with losing records this year...And 28-15 vs teams .500 or poorer since 2012...So he's not exactly going out on a limb here...The Bills show up when they are supposed to win...Give them a real challenge and they generally wilt like a gentle flower...But give them a loser and they are pretty darn good...
  11. Nah...She's a better run stopper...
  12. It surprised me at the time... It worries me even more now...
  13. I love all this "close" talk...I've seen it here and there on TWS as well... Close defenses do not give up multiple 200 plus yard rushing games to a single HB...Let alone multiple 200 yard rushing games to a single team... We are NOT close...The Defense is NOT close...Close would be .500 or slightly below vs teams with winning records...Rex and his "close" Defense is 4-11 vs winning teams since coming to Buffalo... We're no where near close...And Rex is a cool dude...He really is...But he's not "close" as a HC or as a defensive guru either... That's closer to being true than the "close" comment...
  14. Not a huge fan... Pass...
  15. Oh I know that...I was just saying if you are talking about the best player...Not the one who played best for the Bills...I think Peters total career puts him up there as the best player to come through Buffalo...I was not talking about his play while he was here...He had barely begun at that point...
  16. Exactly right... 2014 D was solid...It's not like they had to be that good in comparison to Rex's mess over these 29 games...But good grief... OK...They were not the 2000 Ravens...They were not as good as the Seattle Defenses we've seen over the years, or the Broncos last year...But...They were good...1st in sacks, 1st in 3rd down percentage, 3rd in yards per play, passing D, and takeaways, 4th in points per game, and 5th in 1st downs per game...They were also 11th in rushing D, and middle of the pack (14th) in rushing yards per attempt... Not sure why anyone would want to minimize that...Especially in light of what we're seeing on Sundays now under Rex...They may not have been elite...But they were solid...And clearly if Rex had come close to maintaining that level on Defense the Bills would be looking a hell of a lot better now...
  17. I think if your talking about the best player...even though he was only here for a short time...Jason Peters has to be the answer...Peters has legit HOF credentials already...And he'll probably play a few more years at a high level... Shady would be 2nd I think...Followed by Kyle Williams...
  18. I never wanted him...And I definitely don't want him to stay... The truth is he sold himself as a defensive guru...wanted to build a bully-run-first-and-play-light-out-D style of team...And what we have is a bully who gets KTFO in a tough fight WAY too often...Had Rex not come in and talked about this Defense being the next 2000 Ravens maybe...maybe I could give him a little rope...But if you're gonna talk like that you damn well better be able to back it up...And it seems like most of the time Rex's D is the only thing backing up... Good coaches don't go 1-6 vs winning teams with the only win coming against a 3rd string injured QB...That's pretty much something only bad coaches do...Rex is now 4-11 vs teams that finished better than 9-7 last year and have a winning record so far this year combined...4-11... I don't dislike Rex...I actually like a lot of things about his personality and think he appreciates Buffalo and Bills fans...I think he gets us...But I think the game has passed him and his brother by quickly...The system they believe in on Defense is not working anymore...The Bills are not the most talented team defensively, but they have talent on Defense...And in a VERY short period of time Rex has taken a good, solid, NFL Defense and turned it into one that allows yards in huge chunks vs the pass and the run..2 times in 13 games allowing 200 plus yards to a single RB? What the hell is that? The Bills can do better...There are better coaches in this day of NFL football and Rex will be great on The NFL Network...or ESPN...or FOX...Or wherever he goes on TV...I'm not mad...It was a swing and a miss...Time to try again...
  19. Well...Not trying to cherry pick your point...But I'm not sure a 3rd string injured rookie QB can be considered about equal to Tyrod...Even as bad as Tyrod can play at times...The Pats had nothing at QB that day...They literally gave up on that game in the 4th quarter because of it...
  20. Gruden says a lot of stuff...I like him, but he's very clearly not the be-all, end-all on football knowledge...Or QB's for that matter...He's wrong a lot...He's right a lot... I actually agree with Gruden here...To a point...You can ruin a young QB early...Sure, it's possible...Especially if that young QB is already flawed...You can also develop one by playing him...I think the reality is if they are going to be good, and they get forced in, they'll look good at times...and bad at times...But it will be clear if they can play...If they have the capacity to improve...Or if they just have problems that will plague them their entire NFL careers... I don't think it will be good or bad to see Cardale yet...I think if the Bills put him out there, and he's going to be any good long term, he'll show that potential...I also think he'll struggle some...Like pretty much every single young QB before him...I think it's a mistake to take one or two situations and assume everything thing is the same...The good young QB's struggle early, but show enough to assume they will get better...The poorer ones continue to struggle with their flaws and don't improve when the NFL adjusts...I don't know which type Cardale is...But I do not think having him go in now is going to make a difference one way or the other...Besides the Bills are a run 1st, grind it out and play it safe Offense anyway...It's not like they are going to ask him to be Brady...It's not in the DNA of this team as it is currently built... I also think playing Cardale now will actually be a hell of lot less pressure than pegging him as the starter going in to next season...I think there is a real chance these few games will help him understand the pressures and enable him to deal with them a little better going in to 2017...But there are too many people in that organization right now thinking about surviving 2016...No one on Rex's staff is thinking about what is best for next year...Or what is best for Cardale...At least I don't think so...And granted I could be wrong... The reason Tyrod is starting is because Ryan knows his job is on the line...IMHO it's nothing beyond that...
  21. Well...No surprise here... The Bills have three games left...One against the worst team in the NFL, another vs the Dolphins who won't have their starting QB, and lastly a bottom 5 Jets team... They'll be looking to get to 9-7 so they can sell improvement...They'll be looking for Bills fans to forget the fact that so far this year they are 1-6 vs winning teams...That one win coming vs NE and their injured 3rd string QB...They'll be looking for fans to forget about Taylor choking late in games...They'll be looking for fans to forget about those two games they allowed an opposing HB to gain over 200 yds...Of course knowing Ajayi is coming to town that number could move to 3 times...They'll be hoping fans forget about Rex's predictions of a vastly improve Defense now that they know the system...They'll be counting on Bills fans turning a blind eye to the truth... Here's a 3 game memory wipe Buffalo Fans!!!...Please re-new your season tickets for 2017...
  22. My first thought when I heard those Simms comments (he made them earlier this week as well) was that there is a reason the Bills don't open it up...And Tyrod IS the reason...They already know he can't do...That's why they never tried...
  23. Who knows...Maybe Pegs was playing the long game by making Brandon the Sabres Pres...Maybe that was step #1 to get him away from the Bills? Otherwise it's hard to imagine much will be done about him...He's pretty entrenched...
  24. Oh I'm not gullible...And you're probably right... I don't know...It's just something I've always felt from listening to Brandon talk...He's super smart in way, but he always seems to me like the kid who just wants the cool kids to like him...I definitely think he's got an agenda...But I think mainly it's self preservation...Well that and advancement because he's certainly done a hell of a good job at that...
