  1. According to Joe B...Yes they did... @JoeBuscaglia For reference, the other two in-season firings... Rams & Jags, both had front office people talk day of. Demoff for LA, Caldwell for JAX.
  2. It would seem to be obvious right? After an organization trades up to #1 to get the QB of their choice and all... Some of the stuff I read around here nowadays...I swear I can feel my IQ going down...
  3. Not if there is going to be tough questions apparently...
  4. Obviously... I think Dareus is pretty much the poster child for why this organization fails... A very good player who could be a generational-type talent if he got his head on straight, got into great shape, and stopped being a lazy minded kid... So we decide to give him 100 million knowing all that, and he returns the favor by getting suspended, coming in out of shape, and missing half of his remaining games due to muscle pulls...Then he disappears for HUGE stretches...Finally his excuse is the Defense was too confusing... I wanted Rex canned, and I'm not saying Dareus is wrong about the Defense...But why should I consider anything he has to say?...The buffet line is far more important to him that being the player he could be...So...Why should I care?
  5. It's just the right look...That's all...Whaley literally could have got up there and made a statement scheduling his presser next week... I don't know...Not that it's a huge thing...Just came across as amateur hour to me...
  6. Fair enough...Then make a statement to that point and walk away from the podium...That's all...
  7. It's not about that to me...It's about how it looks...The 1st presser you have after you fire a coach and you don't get up there as a GM and answer questions? I get that it's the normal Wednesday thing...So? It's such a Bills thing to do...Like it's just business as usual...Wednesday presser...Nothing to see here...We're concentrating on the Jets... I don't know...Not saying it's a huge thing but to me it just comes across as amateur hour...Looks like Whaley is afraid of facing the tough questions whether that's true or not....Just looks that way to me...
  8. Well...It's more glamorous for sure...Just being LA... You have a #1 overall QB, and REAL good RB who will light it up if they ever get a passing game going...They still have a lot of talent on that Defense...I like that Rams roster...They need a top WR...But otherwise it's all on how good Goff will be...A lot of the remaining pieces necessary are there...
  9. Well sure...But Whaley could have helped him out by taking the tough questions then turning it over...I imagine there is no rule against that right? Honestly I'm asking...I don't know...
  10. Agreed...Whaley should have been the 1st person to speak...Period...Seems pretty bush-league to me...Like throwing Lynn to the lions...How could they not know that would look bad?
  11. That sucks... RIP Bruce...
  12. I see what you did there...
  13. That was in his rookie year and who knows how many DC's ago...And I seriously doubt they wanted him at 350...Who asks a Rookie to put on 30 plus lbs when he's already 320? I think they were just starting the now long-lived tradition of covering for Dareus and his laziness... Since then he's shown no desire to get back down where he needs to be...And I don't think it's going out on a limb to imagine they have asked him to do so... He gets away with it because, despite his lack of ideal conditioning, he's still pretty darn good when he wants to be...But that kid could have been the next coming of Warren Sapp...Only bigger and more powerful...He could be one of the greatest ever...it just seems to me that no one can get him serious about getting back into great shape...Of course giving him $100 million is not exactly going to motivate him to think it's necessary either...
  14. Maybe Rex did take the fall... But he pushed himself over the edge... Rex's failures stand on their own...Not to say there are not other problems at OBD because there most definitely are...But today was about the 1st step...Getting rid of a guy who claims to be a defensive genius yet could not figure out a way to get his Defense in the top 15, let alone the top 10, in almost two full seasons...
  15. Well...Someone has got to be DC for the last game...So... I think Thuman is toast...
  16. That may be true... But it still does not mean Rex is a good head coach, and it certainly does not mean Rex can excel at his self-proclaimed expertise...defensive coaching...any longer... This spinning vs Whaley is hilarious to me...Not that I support Whaley either...That's a whole different subject...But the thought that Rex did not earn this firing, all by his lonesome, is laughable...
  17. This is a fair, succinct, and accurate argument...I strongly prefer this type of information to the garbage about back room infighting and rumors...Office politics are always real...And the higher up you go the more manipulative folks get in the name of CYA...I see it in the Corporation I work for now, and others I have worked in...It's no big surprise...it's business as usual... I think the arguments against Whaley as a decision maker are most effectively made by talking about his Draft decisions and his love for trading away Draft picks...
  18. Oh I think it was Brandon too...I'm not trying to defend Whaley...he likes to trade Draft picks and that drives me literally insane...But I could care less what happened between Whaley and Marrone because in the end Marrone left and that's all I cared about... I think Whaley is average...Not great, not terrible...He should put more value in acquiring picks than trading them...He could be better no question... Russ I'm just kinda meh on... And yes we are stuck with them...And I agree it's not good...I was in favor of blowing the whole thing up...
  19. Well...Not saying it's right for him to give less effort... But he's not a NT...Never was...He just acquired it because he can't keep his weight at a manageable level...
  20. I'm not a fan...Never really have been... He was fine in Van's shadow...Now though...Well...Whatever...
  21. I think it's a combination of the wacky weed and and the hunger it likely causes...I know I've written this a million times on this board...But when Dareus came out he was a lean 319 lb monster...He showed up at his first camp huge and has never got close to that 319 again...If the kid would get serious about diet and nutrition he would literally be unstoppable...
  22. Marrone was a Major League Richard and a simpleton...How anyone with even the slightest bit of understanding in human nature could not figure that out after hearing the guy talk for 5 minutes is completely beyond my understanding... If you're looking for dirt on Whaley, and no question there likely is dirt, the Marrone situation is definitely not where I would start...I could care less what Marrone's side was...He was awful...
