Myles Jack Could Slide Down in the Draft
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's really unfortunate...But true... I think the report that some teams felt the micro-fracture surgery should happen sooner rather than later is looking pretty solid...I so hate this for the kid...You want to talk about talent dropping due to injury? Jack and Jaylon Smith? Good grief... -
As good as KW is...He's not a Nose...He's a 3 tech and one of the best in the league there...Plus he's 32 coming off a knee...As the Bills stand right now Dareus still gets the bulk of the saps at 0 or 1 in the a 3 man front...He's best suited...That's why I think it's imperative that the Bills get a versatile player to add to this mix that can play a lot over the center...
-
Chris Jones is the #12 overall player on Pro Football Focus Big Board...Shaq Lawson was #11 btw...
-
Just at a glance the #46, 50, 51, 52, and 53 players on NFL.com's board went in the 1st...So it's pretty much a given a few surprise names are going to slot in before the Bills pick at #49...
-
If the Bills come away with Lawson and Chris Jones there would not be a high enough grade for me to give them... That would be absolutely amazing... But I would be thrilled...I mean thrilled with Jones, Billings, Reed, or Robinson...I'd like to see the Bills get a player that can play some 0 and 1 tech with this next pick...
-
Well...I like Chris Jones better than any of them...But obviously after tonight it's looking like that's just me... Seriously though the DT's still available...It's crazy...Now that we got Lawson Billings is SO enticing!!! I still prefer Jones because he's SO versatile...And he can play plenty of NT if that's what they want him to do...But anyway...Wow...I can't believe how this 1st Round fell...I'm SO excited about #49!!!
-
I would not be surprised at all to see #49 be a player who can play a lot of 0 and 1 tech...

RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University
KOKBILLS replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy oozes all over nobodies then he cherry picks a game where Shaq went up against the #6 overall pick... Forget the 12.5 sacks and leading the nation in total tackles for loss... He must have been pissed we did not reach for one of his pet QB's... -

I did a consensus Big Board a few days ago including Pro Football Focus, NFL.com, CBS.com, Great Blue North, and Draft Breakdown Consensus...Shaq came out at #11 overall...We got him at #19...That's about as good value as you can hope for in the 1st Round... -

All Hail Doug Whaley! Look At All He's Done!
KOKBILLS replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had to But I think Rex was more Pegula than Whaley... -
I think to an extent that can be true... But Mayock, Polian, and Peter King...These are not nobody Twitter bloggers... And this is not directed at you...But I was just thinking...Rex is kind of a headcase...But what headcases has Rex been directly related to in the past? Why is Rex suddenly the Raiders? I mean...Ike was a player he coached...he knew that kid...I'm trying to remember when Rex, in the past, directly went after headcases...I don't know...
-
Well... I'm a little queasy about him...It's mostly the off-the-field I guess...I don't question his upside...It's really high...I mean sky high...I more or less look at it like this...I like other players at the same position as much...Even though they lack his athletic ability...And I think the other guys can legitimately play some 1 and 0 technique...I do not see Nkemdiche as a guy you want lining up in the middle a lot in the NFL...He's too easily moved...The tape I watched of him he was really bad vs the double team...To me he is a prototype 5 tech...He's mostly a penetration guy...And when he's on, and plays with technique, he's massively disruptive...If he splits the blockers he's like a flash into the backfield...I'm being honest when I say I can't remember seeing a player his size move that fast when he gets past the O-line...But I do think he's limited...I don't think he's a Wilkerson type that you can line up anywhere...It's strange because when you see him with his pads off the kid is built like a bull...But on the field he looks thin to me...He looks like a 4-3 DE in pads...Not that there's anything wrong with that...I just don't see him as a guy like Jones, Butler, or even Reed who can play all 3 techniques on the D-line... All that being said...If you get the most out of him he has potential All Pro athletic ability...He could be a monster if he matures and takes to Coaching...But he makes me really, really nervous... I know it seems crazy, but there are whispers of Rankins going to Dallas at #4...The Cowboys love him...If the Cowboys trade down, I think their target will be Rankins...

Did you watch the video?...I think I was more impressed with the thorough analysis than I was the subject...

It is a need...And the Bills will Draft a WR... It's not a huge need...Because the Bills are not that kind of Offense... The Bills were 31st in pass attempts and 2nd in rushing attempts in the NFL last year...The Offense is not going to change...They literally brag about the fact that they want to be the most physical running team in the NFL...They had a mere 465 passing attempts in 2015...The league leader had 676...Sammy is going to get the ball more than any WR on the roster no matter what, and it won't be close...They want to get the ball to Clay more...They'll throw to Shady...They'll throw to Karlos...Woods will get his 40+...I think they'll use Gragg more this year...They just need one more piece...And they'll get it...Just not in the 1st... We have a Top 10, maybe Top 5, NFL WR already in Sammy...Robert Woods has 152 catches in three years...Dez Lewis got the redshirt year he needed...I look at this Draft and say I'd rather have Lewis with a year under his belt than just about any WR from at least the 5th Round on...They're hoping one from Hankerson, Boykin, and Little emerge...They all have NFL experience...It's really not that bad for a run 1st team... And lastly, Drafting a WR at #19 should not be in play because GM's that use 3 first round picks on 2 WR's in a three year span while watching their Defense lose games, and key players, end up unemployed...
-
I'm not going to nitpick this by pointing out no QB...I'm just going to say I love it!
-
We'll see...If it had just been Mayock I would have brushed it off...But adding the Mayock pick to Polian's comments has me sweating it now... This is the Bills after all...I've got a bad feeling about this...

Myles Jack Could Slide Down in the Draft
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt you're correct...The questions on Jack have nothing to do with his ability or work ethic...I've yet to hear a single Scout who does not love the kid...So the injury has to be pretty bad according to some teams...It has to be because he's a Top 5 player even if you only think he can play half of the 2016 season...He's that good... -
I searched the topic and could not find mention of this...I found it VERY interesting, and to say I've not been a Hack guy would clearly be an understatement... But...If you want to hear the pro-Hack side argued in the most detailed and in-depth way...This is your video...I only wish Brett Kollmann did this with every prospect in the Draft...Very good stuff from a Scouting standpoint...I really enjoyed it, even though I'm still not 100% sold on Hackenberg...At least not that he's a 1st Round Pick... Also...I did notice something about Hackenberg...And this has nothing to do with his actual play so don't blow me up about this statement...But...For whatever reason, his mannerisms on the field...The way he moves, even stands, and throws...Remind me of Peyton Manning... Anyway...
