That strategy would be assuming basically the same roster, and that roster staying healthy...And that's not going to happen (at least the same roster part)...And that roster had a couple gaping holes...Especially at S and WR... What I'm saying is...It's basically impossible based on the state of the team, the cap, UFA's, TT's contract if you pick it up, and the small amount of Draft picks...It's a pipe-dream...If they pick up Taylor's option and somehow figure out how to tweak this team under the cap and squeeze out 2 more wins it would be a minor miracle, and one hell of a major accomplishment...Not saying it's impossible...But the odds are really, really against it...
-
That seems to be the popular theory... IMHO though...No one has properly explained exactly how you reload while taking on that TT contract, filling the roster that has 20 something UFA's opening up more than a couple needs, and only 6 Draft picks currently... So good luck with that TT is back reload...It's theory at best...But probably more like fantasy...

All due respect, I just can't see the logic in spending almost $35 million under the cap, and $over $40 million in cash the next two seasons for a QB you want to replace...If there was no Cap I'd be all for it...But we're talking about a team with 20 something UFA's and only 6 Draft picks currently...Something has to give... So if the Bills pick up the option I fully expect them to build the team around the QB...If they don't pick it up a high round QB can be expected...

Good article on Mahomes... I think a lot of teams, even the ones with decent QB situations, will be looking hard at Mahomes hoping he drops to a reasonable point in the Draft... http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2017-nfl-mock-drafts-profiles-video-clips-highlights-steelers-analysis-breakdowns-news/2017/1/30/14260584/2017-nfl-draft-scouting-report-patrick-mahomes-ii-the-double-edged-sword

Deshaun Watson a Bargain in 1st for Bills - DP
KOKBILLS replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ was not considered half the prospect Watson is...To say any different is ill-informed at best... And in no way is that meant to be an endorsement for Watson... -
Go on record! Which 2017 QB will have the best career?
KOKBILLS replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to say...This is interesting...I honestly think this poll is a no-brainer...But I also thought I'd be in the vast minority... I figured at most he would get 10-15%...And Mahomes is leading... Y'all are making me worry he's not going to be there in a trade down scenario... Like I said...Interesting... -
Sorry, but I'm still going to miss Hogan
KOKBILLS replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly... This really is not that hard to figure out, and I'm shocked there is much debate about it...The Bills blew it on the tender...They were not a deep team at WR , Hogan was a valued contributor, and honestly worth the higher tender pay anyway... Hindsight makes it easier...No question...But after what the Bills went through in 2016 at WR, plus what Hogan ends up doing for our biggest nemesis...Well...Pretty clear Whaley blew this one...Not to mention they would likely have a decent chance and retaining Hogan this off-season to soften the blow when Woods leaves... -
No...It's not about Wake...Or any RT the Bills put out there...It's about Mr broke-back/collarbone... At this point, instead of a nameplate Romo should have a sticker that says "FRAGILE - Handle with extreme care..." One back injury is no joke...Which I'm sure just about anyone can attest to...He's had multiple...And he's an NFL QB who will get periodically blasted even behind the best line...Which the Cowboys have btw and he still got hurt... I would not give a plug nickle for Romo...It's not because I think he's a bad QB when healthy...The risk vs potential reward is just WAY too high...

This is so unfortunately true...

Fair point...

Rapsheet: Cowboys priority is trade Romo. Not to Broncos
KOKBILLS replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep... Romo was a very good QB at one time...He probably could be again by the grace of God...or something like that...But at this point the guy gets breathed on wrong and he's going to break...He'll be 37 in April and he has taken a ton of big hits...I honestly can't understand why any Bills fan would even consider it for a minute...The odds of him playing a full season at this point are astronomical... -
The NHL is expanding...But the NFL needs to downsize... OK...

Well...It's not like the Scouting Reports did not warn you Texans...Fuller's hands are his problem... -
Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is possibly the smartest, most well thought out and insightful post I've read in my near 20 years on TSW... I could not possibly agree more with this take! Well said...Post of the Year caliber stuff man!!! One Bald Buffalo!!! -
With the 10th pick, the Buffalo Bills select....
KOKBILLS replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect Williams to be gone...But Davis...I think there is better than a 50% shot he'll be there...I'm totally fine with a WR or a Safety for sure...To me Foster, again assuming he's there, is the dark horse...But a strong dark horse due to the HC hire... PFF did a nice piece on McDermott's D and after reading that it made me think that Foster is going to be a real possibility if he's there...The way he depended on Kuechly and T. Davis in coverage...I don't think either of those positions fit Preston Brown, and I'm not even sure how well Ragland will do though he's definitely going to be asked to play one of them...It just made me believe he'll value Foster more than most teams...We'll see though... -
Agreed... And I don't know...Maybe there will be some kind of shocker in the next Month...But it seems to me that the chances of TT being back are just about 0-1%...They seem to be moving on...
-
Kizer is all potential...Not a lot more right now... He's no where near ready IMHO...But...He has all the physical tools...He can dazzle at times...But if you're looking for a plug-and-play guy...Oh boy...Good luck with that...
-
For some reason this post reminded me of something I heard yesterday...Can't remember who said it but they were explaining why Cleveland should not take a 1st round QB...He started his explanation with..."Look...you have to understand...Cleveland is not going to be a Playoff team for another 8-9 years...So..."

Well...Reuben Foster is an absolute beast...I really don't have anything negative to say about that kid...And if the 1st 9 teams are dumb enough to let him slide I'd definitely have no problem with taking him at #10... -

I watched every Panthers game this year...They struggled at times...At times they were great...Playing the rookies in the secondary cost them no question...But the D-line did not help, especially early on in the season when they were counting on them to get pressure...They used their 1st Rd pick on Butler to add to that D-line that is already stacked with talent, and it really got off to a slow start... But overall that Panthers D has been great under McDermott...It's hard to blame him for what happened last year in total...No Norman, tons of three and outs on Offense because the Offensive line was just brutal, and Kuechly missed 6 plus games...They were in a tough spot at #30 with no top CB's left so they went with their BPA...In hindsight they should have listened to me and taken Chris Jones if they were going to go D-Line...He's more versatile than Butler and much more disruptive when he wants to be...I guess because they already have Star they did not want Jones...But Jones is SO much more than just a 0 or 1...Oh well... -
I watched a TON of TT in College...And I'm not sure if it's even possible to be more wrong than this take...
-
It's really not worth a response...
-
He's one hell of a LB...

Well...The one thing I always say about Whaley...He never met a Draft pick he did not want to trade...So...Who knows?
