  1. The legend of Jerry Hughes is just that, a legendary story. The guy was nothing special his last few years on the Bills. And I can not imagine that he is going to be better next year when he will be at least 35 years old.
  2. That's great analysis. Looking at your year end grades, we need help at LG and RT. I think O line needs to be a priority in the upcoming draft and free agency. I like Boettger. I think he can replace Saffold. And I don't think Brown is a starting caliber RT on a championship level team. And depth needs to be better as well. Quessenberry is trash. Hopefully Doyle can come back and be useful next year. He should be better then Q.
  3. He has really turned up his game this season. And I admit I bashed him for a long time, (and rightfully so) But he has become a big time stud for us. After seeing what Roquan Smith just signed for w the Ravens, (and I think Edmunds is a better player) it will be hard to keep Edmunds. And don't forget about Poyer too. We need him just as much if not more then Edmunds.
  4. How many draft picks are you giving up for DeAndre Hopkins? And not enough balls to go around to satisfy both Diggs and Hopkins. Davis might as well not even dress if those two are playing. Don't forget about Shakir. He may have more upside then Gabe. Just saying.
  5. And they played the entire season with Andy Dalton as their starting QB, cementing Jamais Winston to the bench. I would fire my head coach and anyone in the organization who agreed with Dennis Allen's strategy. (I like Dennis Allen. Sounds like a cool old school kind of a tough guy type of coach when he speaks.) But my goodness you are not winning anything w Andy Dalton. At least Winston gives you big play potential. He is the black version of Fitzie. Boom or bust. 400 yards passing. 4 TD's. 4 picks. A fumble and a lot of excitement.
  6. As a human race, we never stop. We always keep going forward. Everyone suffers hardship and loss in their lives over time. That is part of being a human being and living in the world. When you pass, people maybe upset and care that you are gone and miss you. But the world will keep going on and not miss a beat. It was a freak thing that happened to Damar Hamlin. Its upsetting sad and scary for all of us. But football is a violent game. The players all know that. They can be upset. But they still will need to focus on what they are paid quite well to do. And that is to block out the distraction and be a baller for 3 plus hours this Sunday. And keep doing that until they win the Super Bowl or are eliminated.
  7. They need a real NFL coach. One that knows offense. You need that to develop a young QB like Fields. He has some physical tools, but looks completely lost trying to read a defense or run an offense. Interesting that guys with a lot of physical tools like Fields get drafted so high, and yet have no idea how to play the QB position when coming in the league. I do like Kenny Pickett. He has moxie, a decent arm, and understands how to play QB. Pittsburgh did well drafting him, and George Pickens-who we should have drafted.
  8. Exactly. Ryan Clark on SportsCenter last nite said the same thing. Its all most of the players ever dreamed of doing with their lives. Most of these guys are not Andrew Luck. They are programmed to play football for as long as they possibly can. My son just finished his 6th year playing college ball. He said he played the most snaps of any d lineman in the country this season. Some games he played 80+ plays. He is a good solid player. He maybe a low round draft pick. Depending on how he does at his pro day. He suffered a bad knee injury at the start of the 2019 season. Came back from that in time for the 2020 season. He suffered a bad ankle injury his Junior year in High School and missed most of that season. But he came back to have a great senior high school season. Fortunately, he had a healthy final college season accept for the normal bumps and bruises you get playing all those plays near the line of scrimmage. He has his degree, and is a smart dude. But his goal is to play in the NFL. Its what he always has wanted to do, regardless of the risk. I hope he gets to live out his dream. It can make you nervous if you overthink it. So I don't.
  9. Nick Foles sucks. He shouldn't be playing in the NFL. That being said, way too much celebrating period in the NFL. Win something and then celebrate. Your job is to sack the QB. Act like you have been doing it all your life. LT, Reggie White and Bruce never celebrated. They just beat up QB's which was their job. The players today seem so juvenile. Its ridiculous.
  10. Stop with the underneath pass talk. Josh Allen has the best arm on the planet. We didn't draft him to throw 5 yard crosses. Let him keep rolling out and throw 30 yard darts. He is great at that. You want underneath passing, bring in Teddy Bridge to nowhere. We got the real deal in Josh Allen. And yes he does have that Favre dog in him. I loved it with Brett. And I love it with Josh!!
  11. McKenzie is not that bad. He can make plays when called upon in a limited capacity. Lets hope he steps up tonite and in the playoffs. As for not keeping Hodgins on the roster over Kumerow, I agree that was a terrible move. Hodgins has good hands, and looks to have some game. Not keeping Hodgins on the 53 man roster coming out of training camp was a head scratcher.
  12. Good for Blaine Gabbert helping to save people. But too much is made of having multiple OC's over a career. You either have it as a QB or you don't. Its throwing a football with accuracy, being tough, being a leader and knowing how to make plays on the football field. Good coaching helps. But coaches don't hold your hand at the line of scrimmage.
  13. That's an interesting analysis dpberr. Makes a lot of sense. Josh Allen checks all the boxes, physically and mentally. People used to say some of the same stuff about JP Losman, I believe. That he had attitude or coachability issues. It was a long time ago. But something says he was kind of cocky with some sort of attitude. Didn't Troy Vincent take him out in practice, fracturing his leg in his rookie training camp?
  14. My son played with Willis on a championship high school football team outside of Atlanta. The kid had some game back then, and a lot of game at Liberty. He was brought in to play in a terrible quarterback unfriendly offense. The Titans never let him throw the ball downfield. It was hand off and dink and dunk within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Mike Vrabel is a moron of a coach. And the entire Titan organization is a mess. The Cowboys and the Jags will blow them out. They should completely clean house. Nathaniel Hackett is available. LOL
  15. I hope Kingsley Jonathan is dressing again over Basham. He played well against Chicago. And looks to have a lot more juice then Basham. And maybe the late sack by AJ Epenesa will get him going. I think we also need to blitz some. Burrow is not much of a scrambler, and if we get in his face play after play he will get rattled.
  16. Not with the number 2 pick you don't. (Maybe Wilson's potential will come thru with another coaching staff someplace else) Josh Allen was a physical specimen at Wyoming. He had accuracy issues. But he was a baller. In a whole different league then Zach Wilson. The Jets have some talent. But not much on the O line. But in today's NFL not a lot of teams do. Including our beloved Bills. But nothing compares to how bad the Broncos O line was on Christmas Day. That was an embarrasment of epic proportions, that got both the O Line coach and the head coach fired, and rightfully so.
  17. I guess you made your post before Tua blew up in the second half today. The Dolphins D is meh. And Tua is scared playing against us.
  18. In today's NFL he is a very very good back. But we can't afford to pay big money to a RB. Need to try and resign Poyer and Edmunds. Cook should be excellent next year. And hopefully we can resign Singletary w a modest contract and maybe keep Hines. And nothing wrong with drafting a bigger back who has some upside.
  19. He needs to grow up. But he is only what 23 or so. He was way overdrafted to begin with. The kid wasn't great in the slightest at BYU. And the Jets took him with the second pick. Someone will give him another shot. But he needs to realize that its a job and not a way to pick up chicks. He is always laughing and smiling. Need to take it serious and become an adult. Picking QB's is not the Jets specialty. They have taken Hackenberg, Darnold and now Wilson. The organization has been garbage for years. Salah looks to be a decent coach. But they need to get the QB position right. Mike White is better then Wilson. But he is fragile ala Rob Johnson. Skinny QB's don't last even in today's NFL.
  20. Josh beat the Colts in the wild card game two years ago. His 96 yard drive in the last two minutes of the 1st half was legendary. The game was very exciting if you recall w Poyer recovering a fumble late. But the refs blew the call and gave the Colts the ball back for a couple more plays.
  21. Herbstreit is College Football personified. He and Chris Fowler have been doing a great job of it for over two decades on ABC and ESPN. Pros are a very different game. And he is getting his feet wet. He isn't great yet, but give him some time. He knows football. Just has to find his groove w the NFL game. Al has been doing this forever. He still knows his stuff. He is just old now. The Vin Scully of Football. The sound is very quiet on the Prime Video broadcasts. They do the audio w muting of most of the crowd noise. Makes it sound like the games are being played in a studio. I think the problem is more the games then the broadcast. Too many prime time games. And most on Thursday nite are lousy. Not enough good NFL teams. How many times can you watch an Indianapolis Colts team w Matt Ryan as your starting QB??!! Colts-Broncos, Bears-Commanders, Seahawks-49ers. Last nites game. Unless you are betting the game, pretty tough to watch. And even then it aint pretty. For my money, other then the Bills the college game is much more exciting. As for announcers, if you want excitement like your hair is on fire, listen to Gus Johnson do College Ball. And for analysts, Tony Romo and Charles Davis are excellent. And for those who have an affinity for Ohio State and Buffalo Bill alum, I always loved listening to Chris Spielman. His knowledge and dry humor is excellent.
  22. We won all 3 of those games on the last play of the game after driving the length of the field. How was that luck? The throw from Josh to Diggs in Detroit was a tremendous throw. No luck there.
  23. That's a great idea. Bates was dominant on the left side last year.
  24. Your first sentence. Seriously?? The Bills were down 29-21 early in the 4th qtr. They then marched on two long drives in the 4th qtr to take the victory. What am I missing? In crunch time we took over. Dorsey is fine. We don't need a dink and dunk offense with Josh Allen. That's stupid. The construction of the roster is not nearly as strong as many wanted to believe at the start of the season. O line is mediocre at best when healthy. And we need more weapons on offense. ( Keeping Kumerow over Hudgins at WR was an awful move.) The defense has had lots of injuries. And without Von there is not a lot rushing the passer. That being said, this is the 2022 version of the Buffalo Bills. We have a special player at the most important position. And another special player at WR. Is that enough to beat Cinci and/or KC in the AFC playoffs, and then either San Fran or Philly in the Super Bowl, we shall see. But don't say that Mike McDaniel outcoached Sean McDermott. That's just stupid. The Bills did not fold when down a score in the 4th qtr. They have lost 3 games by 8 points this year. They are a tough gritty team. If anything our deficiencies are on Beane and not the coaching staff.
  25. That was 2 months ago bro. The 49ers defense is playing lights out right now. Epenesa and Basham were lousy last nite. Neither is an NFL starting caliber D Lineman. The Von Miller injury is killing us. Not having Hyde all season has also been a problem. Hamlin makes a few plays, but is young and doesn't have nearly the instincts yet that Hyde has playing on the back end. Regardless, the defense scratched and clawed and made the plays they needed to (the whole team did) in the 4th qtr to get a huge win. As for the Cam Lewis destroying the punter penalty. That seems like a cutable play to me. Wow that was bad..
