Least important game left on the schedule. Granted, at 4-4 they are all important.
-
Disagree with this. FA didn't water down the league, it simply equalized the talent from a few teams to many. It might have done away with the few powerhouse teams but it also made watching the majority of games a bit more exciting as they became more competitive across the board. Expansion, on the other hand, watered down the league. Suddenly guys were were backups were starters and guys who weren't in the league were backups. That's the definition of watering down. The biggest culprit in the quality of play declining is the practice rules that are in place now. Rules on how a defense can play (vs the pass in particular) and rules about live practices. Teams simply can't practice live drills as much anymore and we pay for it as fans. Granted, it does protect the players so there's a trade off. As for the question, I'd say the last great team was the NE team that won back to back championships in 2004 and 2005. Regular season record of 28-4 over those two seasons combined with 6-0 in the playoffs and that is a dominant team. Those back to back championships also gave them 3 SB titles in 4 years.

One of the most painful games to watch in the past 20 years and that's saying something as a Bills' fan.
-
How is he the reason? He didn't create the rule, he's just saying it is not being enforced equally and/or consistently- and it's not. I don't like Cam either but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a point about running QBs not getting the same calls as guys like Brady.

Week 9: Seahawks' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they have a bad OL why blitz all the time? Bad OL = consistent pressure bringing just 4, at least theoretically. He should see how well Wilson is moving around and see how much pressure the D is getting with just 4 and then decide how much he wants/needs to blitz. -
Above average? They've been the most dominant D in the league for 4.5 years now. That's a stretch that not many D's in the history of the game can match.

Week 9: Seahawks' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm torn about this. If he goes out there and he looks to be fully healthy and has no ill effects, that's great. But part of me says this is the least important game left on the schedule as well as the least likely victory given it's @ Seattle. There's a bye next week, let the guy rest and get back to 100% for the final stretch drive. If he aggravates it again tonight and he looks like he's running through mud like he looked vs. Miami it won't help the team and he'll be right back in this same spot in two weeks vs. the Bengals. -
Bryce Petty time? (Update: Starting vs Rams)
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently if you aren't one of the best in the league you now "barely hold on to a roster spot" and don't deserve the money you've made? Fitz has been a mid/lower tier starting QB his entire career. That's a far cry from not deserving to start or barely making a roster. There are 32 teams, for most of his career Fitz has been one of the 32 best QBs in the league. Not sure why people love to bag on him, so he hasn't been great but he works his ass off and does the best he can with what he's been given. Kudos to him. Ahh, the internet, where everybody who isn't great "sucks" and everybody who is great is one of the "best ever" or "overrated." People seem unable to talk with any nuance, they all think they're talk show hosts who are supposed to say ridiculous things for ratings. -
Yeah, this is what I'm thinking. The passing game will be mostly ineffective but they'll have a couple of big plays that skew the numbers. Hopefully those big plays result in TDs...

Bills Defense - average after all the changes (corrected)
MDH replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have a legit chance to beat any of their remaining opponents. The problem is that they have a legit chance to get blown out in any of those games as well. You never know what Bills' team is going to show up. -

Even with Murray this sh*t would have ceased being funny 15 years ago. -
People in Cleveland couldn't resist selling their tix to Cubs fans for thousands of dollars.

I quit plenty of jobs as a teenager. Guess I just wasn't having none of this PC crap! It obviously had nothing to be with me not taking personal responsibilty at the time...

Your feelings about the Bills (in song)
MDH replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's that campfire song that goes, "same song, second verse, a little bit louder, a little bit worse." That pretty much sums up the year to year feeling of being a Bills' fan. -
NFLN Suspends Brian Baldinger over Eagles' Bounty Claim

An employer has to right to suspend/fire an employ if they feel that they are negatively impacting the company. NFL Network didn't like it and took actions. Not sure what the big deal is. -
Last bet I made concerning the Bills was SB 25. A guy I knew thought the Giants D would shut down the Bills O and bet me $50 that the Bills wouldn't score 20 points...
-
Yeah, knowing this team they'll come out and beat the Hawks and Bengals then turn around and lose to the Jags and Cleveland. It's just what the Bills do.
-
Which means they have to win all of their "easy" games (Jags, Browns, Phins, Jets) and split their "tough" games (Hawks, Bengals, Raiders, Steelers.) The problem is 3 of the 4 "tough" games are on the road. And yeah, I'm still including the Bengals in the "tough" section as they've lost to the likes of the Steelers, Broncos, Cowboys and Patriots three of which were on the road. That's a murderers row right there.

Bills lead NFL in sacks halfway through season
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our QB doesn't require actual pressure, he manufactures it and looks to escape the pocket when all that's required is stepping up into it. -
Bills Defense - average after all the changes (corrected)
MDH replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The key is the takeaways. During their 4 game win streak they dominated via the takeaway. The past two weeks, with zero turnovers, the D hasn't been able to stop anybody. Not sure why these things are either/or. The D has been very disappointing the last two games and TT has been bad too. -
I hope he makes it to the 2nd practice

Bills lead NFL in sacks halfway through season
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a Rex "hater" but the Bills had 5 sacks on Sunday. How'd the D play? Pressure is important but sacks don't tell the entire story. This D has been horrible the past two weeks. They better get their heads out of their asses because the season is slipping away and the O can't be expected to carry this team. -
Seriously. Who expected us to win yesterday? Seriously.

1-3 va. the AFC East. Its great that they've split with the Pats but that isn't going to get the job done if they want to make the playoffs. The Bills already have more losses within the division than they had all of last year. -
Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel. Don't like the guy but he's right, it's ridiculous that he takes the shots he does with no calls.
-
I thought it was obvious but I was referring to TT being "the guy." As in the guy who has an option on his contract this year that will pay him legit starter salary at the QB position. My apologies if that wasn't clear.
