  1. I'm not sure why so many people have their panties in a bunch over Cowher. There are a lot of quality coaching candidates out there - some coordinators and some with previous HC experience - and the Bills are in the unique situation of being the only team looking for a HC. Sure the Bills have failed in the past when it comes to hiring "hot" coordinators but that has absolutely no bearing on this hire. Those were hires of Donahoe. Granted, nobody is sure what type of GM Nix will be but none-the-less those past hires have no bearing on this hire (just like the hiring of Jauron by Levy has no bearing on the success or failure of Cowher, Marty, etc.) I swear people just want to set themselves up for a let down. Do I hope the Bill land Cowher? Sure, he'd be my top pick but if they don't get him there are a lot of other qualified guys who I think could do a good job. Cowher is not the only guy who can win games for the Bills...
  2. Why? What team is going to hire coaches out from under the Bills? Bills are in a unique position to just sit back and take their time - even if that means waiting until after the Super Bowl to make sure they get the right guy.
  3. With the right coaching staff and front office in place every team in the league is on the cusp of winning. In this watered down league it shouldn't take more than two years to turn things around.
  4. And if he does manage to pan out he'll be another classic Bills pick that we groom for another team. The treadmill continues.
  5. You're absolutely right, he did get us to 7-9 - the team would have been a 5 win team without him. Good to know someone finally acknowledges his contributions.
  6. That's odd - I had no reception probs and I live 15 min from the city. That being said you are probably better off having not seen the game. Shoveling snow is less of a nightmare than watching this Bills team.
  7. Where do you guys get that he was beating her? "Dispute" does not mean physical violence. Getting into a car and driving off seems like a pretty common reaction to a couple arguing - assuming someone was getting beaten seems like a big leap. Even if it was physical leaving someone in the middle of the road injured is not the "right" thing to do. Understandable yes, but not "right."
  8. Not to mention that having a top 10 pick isn't the greatest thing given how much cash those picks cost and their 50/50 success rate. I'd almost rather have a 11-20 pick and not be in cap hell if the pick doesn't pan out.
  9. The article makes it sound like Henry fell out of the truck and his fiance didn't stop as he was later "found in the road." What a woman if true.
  10. When you have the worst run defense in the league the problem is generally with your MLB or your DTs (or both...) - what, did you think Stoud was going to say? I don't expect him to say they need to replace him or Williams...
  11. My goal is to not want to smash my TV every Sunday in the Fall. If I feel like smashing it one game in the playoffs that's a hell of a lot better than wanting to smash it nearly every week during the regular season.
  12. The Bills are rated last in the league in stopping the run. Sure, much of the blame goes to the LBs and Safties for not being filling the proper holes but much of the blame also goes to the DL getting blown off the ball. Stroud will have plenty of plays where he looks outstanding and then long stretches where he just disappears - almost as if he turns it off...
  13. I'm amazed at how well the secondary has played given that the Bills D generates very little pass rush.
  14. Actually, I'd disagree about the conservative at the end part. They threw the ball deep to Evans which set up a FG which was a good call. Once inside the 5 yard line with 2 minutes left the ran the ball...like they should have. No need to put the ball in the air there.
  15. So what does Edwards do with his day? Stare blankly at a gray wall every waking hour? I mean, we wouldn't want him to tax his head by doing something else
  16. Sadly the Bills could also walk out of that stretch 4-9. If the D doesn't completely shut down opposing Os this team has no chance at winning the game.
  17. As much as I dislike Edwards I'll take him over Fitz. Fitz is as inaccurate as Jamarcus Russle. Thankfully he managed to complete some passes late but it was painful until then.
  18. The pass D also shut down Drew Brees - you know, the guy who just destroyed one of the best Ds in the league. There is a lot wrong with the Bills - well, just about everything is wrong with them - but the pass D has been solid.
  19. Settling for the FG is fine but you try and get 10 more yards. You don't run a couple of times into the line and settle for a 46 yd field goal. It's a horrible decision. Throw the ball, stop being afraid and you have a real chance of winning the game.
  20. Jauron has done it before and he'll do it again. He coaches scared.
  21. You'll get no argument from me here. Everybody from the top down needs to be let go - coaching staff and front office. Hell, if there was a way to fire the owner I'd be for that too. That being said, Edwards is still accountable for his play. I think the coaching staff has ruined quite a few players in the past decade but ultimately they end up being responsible for their play - fair or not.
  22. He was horribly inaccurate today. I know you say he only had time to throw on one play but that simply isn't true. He had time on the long throw to Evans and overthrew him (like he overthrew TO last week on the long pass.) He also had time on - I'd estimate - about half his drop back, which I admit is bad. Even so, he's never able to pull the trigger to anybody but RBs or TEs underneath. He started to break out of the shell in the first half with some of those throws to TO but reverted right back to the gun shy QB in the 2nd half. I can't see the entire field on TV but both Evans and TO are quality WRs and they simply can not be well covered on every single pass play. It's simply inconceivable to think that is the case. Trent simply does not have the confidence to throw the ball into tight spaces - which is what an NFL QB has to be able to do. "Open" in the NFL is a half step and it appears to me that Edwards just does not understand this or lacks the confidence to execute it. Either way it ends up killing the offense. The OL was horrible today, I wont' defend them. The penalties were drive killing. But Edwards, once again, showed the same tentative decision making that have fans questioning him.
  23. So you want to bring back Losman too? Obviously since the Bills leadership sucks it absolves the QB of any responsibility and they get a free pass. I'm up for bringing back Holcomb too and maybe even Rob Johnson while we're at it.
  24. My thoughts too. Most of those idiotic false start penalties on the OL (at home too...) have to do with the no huddle. This OL is just too young to be trying to go no huddle.
  25. When he does get time he still doesn't make good decisions with the ball. And someone please tell me WHY DO WE CONTINUE WITH THE NO HUDDLE? The young OL obviously isn't ready for it. Huddle up, let them get their wits about them and I guarantee the penalties will drop.
