Smerlas actually left as a Plan B FA... IMO cutting him for all intents and purposes, they no longer wanted him. He was only with SF for 1 year, then played 2 more with the lowly Pats.

As soon as I hear that accent, they need a punch in the face. On the other hand, I still absolutely HATE the Dolphins, but I don't have a problem with anything else Miami anymore. Most of the idiots in the stands who used to wave the white hankies are either in nursing homes or dead by now.

I like Gronk, great player and bigger-than-life character. I wish he was on the Bills, though I never pushed for him with the Troup pick and I don't remember anyone else doing so either at the time. I don't like the Pats, but I greatly respect them. I absolutely HATE everything else Boston: all the chowder heads, the Celtics, and especially the Red Sox.

I'm still very, very nostalgic for the "golden" era of Bills football, and that's never going to change. The team did jump the shark for me quite a bit though the day that Marv was hired as GM. Polian, Butler, and yes TD were very respected throughout the league and I never got the sense that the team wasn't trying to succeed under them.... but when Marv came back, the clown show officially began, and the Bills have been pretty much irrelevant and a league laughing stock ever since. Here's to the new regime restoring credibility back to the franchise!

The common thread between all the previous regimes you mention is Ralph Wilson. He was directly involved in the earlier ones, and his Mini-Me stooge was involved in the later ones. This is the first regime where the stench of Ralph has been removed. The proven chump of a GM has been thrown to the curb, and the Mini-Me stooge has been rendered irrelevant. Without these changes, It was impossible to turn the team around as long as Ralph's trash still ran the football side of the front office, failure was far too strong and deep. Now there is hope. If the new regime cant get things done after 3 years, then yeah, it would be a mistake to keep them any longer. But by no means at all was it a mistake to finally clean house this year, the moves were long, LONG overdue. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Correct. I will agree with those who say that the media does appear to have had a whole lot more venom for him than other chumps who the Bills have let go. To get this kind of reaction, I'm sure it's well deserved.
