  1. Only there once, for that 1969 Cincy snow game. Sure seemed to me to be far tougher conditions that day than what I saw on my TV in 2017 against the Colts, but I was pretty young.
  2. Yeah, I would give 1977 the edge over 1972 for my fav year, those shows rock.
  3. I was OK as long as the one's who really needed a bath stayed away from me.
  4. So if David Palmer sang all of Steely Dan's songs instead of the incredibly weak Donald Fagen, would the band be respected more than being just a footnote in music history?
  5. To be fair, I have to put an asterisk next to every one of those players who were in Buffalo during the drought, especially the 2nd half of it. Ralph and the rest of his stooges like Brandon, Littman, Whaley, et all were just such stone cold losers that anyone who got sucked into that environment couldn't help but be set up for failure.
  6. See to me... Love Jerry Love the band Love the music, love the jams Love the songs (60's and 70's, with a few later exceptions) BUT Have never, ever had any use or love for the Deadheads at those shows.
  7. My take as well. Very good blocker for a WR, but that's about it. Then again, I was never too impressed with Lil Antoine on the Bills either until he went to the Vikings.
  8. No doubt that certainly didn't help him develop.
  9. Yeah, if you're going to compare with what they did in Buffalo, I agree with you 100%. Take Woods for example: he's really blossomed into a very nice player with the Rams, but I was never too impressed with him on the Bills.
  10. Well, Im not a drummer, I thought White was OK. I heard these days he can't play anymore, that they've got someone off-stage playing for him. Bruford was all-World. I did prefer Crimson to Yes.
  11. I'll wait for Doug Whaley to confirm.
  12. Bruford, hell yes. White, meh.
  13. Well, I would not be using any stats at all to compare WRs, including W's. I would only trust what I saw on the field. If you didn't know that, now you do.
  14. The only stat in football that matters is W's. Now, if you want to talk about baseball, I would agree.
  15. I saw them play the Aud on a Saturday night in 1981, with the Stones playing Rich the next day. Quite the drugland weekend! Bills lost to the Bungles in OT though, never saw it.
  16. I have to give Polian the benefit of the doubt, she looked just like Ralph.
  17. Don't look at stats, they are for losers. Look at the game film.
  18. I saw John Mayer open for the Stones in Philly 2005, and I was not impressed at all. It may be unfair, but I'm not willing to give him a chance, way too many other things to listen to. I am very impressed though with all the women has had, Jennifer Aniston FTW.
  19. Hate to say it, but they are dead to me. No Jerry, no interest. JMO.
  20. Yeah, I like Kingfish. Only saw JGB once, Uptown Theatre in Chicago 1981, tremendous show. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/jerry-garcia-band/1981/uptown-theater-chicago-il-23dd08f7.html See, for the most part, I really appreciate the front man most in the bands I like. Weir was a terrible front man, I saw him almost fall off the stage at Alpine Valley 1982 trying to make some cheezy moves. When he's just playing in the band (pun intended), he's great.
  21. When I was much younger, I used to consider Weir a weak link and preferred JGB to the GD.
  22. I'm interested in who is going is take the time to play this. If you do, please like his post.
  23. Here's how I would recommend getting into them: 1. Avoid the studio albums. They are OK for what they are, but live is where it's at. 2. If you don't already have it, sign up for premium Spotify. 3. Plenty to choose from there, but make a playlist of all Dick's Picks shows that took place in the 1960's and 1970's. There is some good stuff later to be sure, but a lot of the material just isn't as good. 4. Just play it. You don't have to concentrate on it, it can be in the background. There will be a lot of hours of music there, I think before it is over, things will kick in.
  24. It was fun goofing on him for being a decoy, etc, but he's part of history now. Anyone can watch footage of him making plays in a Super Bowl that helped his team win the Lombardi,. Like Chris Hogan, that trumps everything else, and can never be taken away from him. Disappointing in Buffalo, yes. Bust, no.
