  1. Can we add Demetress Bell to the list?
  2. We are not 2 days into FA so EJ is safe.
  3. Those YAC stats must be a lie... He's too slow to play on the NFL! /sarcasm
  4. Let's start a thread criticizing people who criticize other threads.
  5. My feeling about any kind of inside information, regardless of whether it is presented as "probably" or "definitely", is the same: take it with a grain of salt. Since we are talking about anonymous posters with unknown agendas it is reasonable to be skeptical. The good news is, we are talking about football here, not something where inaccurate information is going to ruin your life or harm you. So... Question all you want by all means, but try to avoid outright "attacks".
  6. Except Leroi has (kind of) denied that happened and still insists Fred will be a cap casualty. So the jury is still out.
  7. Fred had 1,062 yds rushing in 2009. Along with just over 1,000 yds returning kicks making him the first to achieve that dubious double milestone.
  8. Only one source clearly indicated Pegula stepped in. The latest article says the executives discussed it and decided not to cut him at this time.
  9. Exactly. I do not doubt that Leroi's posts reflect the views of some in the Bills' FO. I also want to hear any followup matter2003 can provide.
  10. I think Leroi is associated somehow with Whaley or someone who had insight into the pro player analysis. And you know even though I don't agree with everything he says or his view on Fred, I value his input and do not think he is "trolling".
  11. I am still concerned that it is a temporary reprieve and he gets cut during camp regardless. After which he will be unlikely to hook on with another team at least until injuries hit.
  12. This is as unfounded as it gets. At least the first part.
  13. You have an interesting viewpoint. You are apparently in the know about some of the Bills FO thinking but you are also an active detractor of Fred. Not just one of the people who is trying to say "cold hard facts" but actually almost as strong dislike of Fred as Tampa Bob. I can't help but feel that Whaley sees it at least somewhat the same way. ie, Fred might edge out Brown for carries and that will hurt him (Brown) developing into the next Marshawn Lynch. But the reality is we didn't "give up on Lynch early" just because of Fred. It was more his behavior in Buffalo and lack of fit. He found a better spot in Seattle and took it to the next level. I don't think it would ever have happened here. When Lynch was here he was the more talented back vs Fred but his results were not a lot better than Fred's... Certainly nothing like what he became in Seattle. And, there isn't really a lot in Brown that makes him look like he could become the next Lynch (who the Bills drafted 12th).
  14. I would be sad but if he was given a legitimate shot to make the roster then that's life in the NFL. I think there would be a problem with people claiming he wasn't given a chance.
  15. How do we know that "Pegula got involved" is not code for "Pegula helped talk Fred into a more reasonable contract"? Example: Base salary near minimum with incentives for playing time. Eliminates fairness issues if he does end up as #2.
  16. Do people really believe Fred will get picked up at his age? Maybe by the Jets or Jaguars.
  17. I've assumed Fred was in danger ever since Whaley referred to the old staff being "comfortable" with him. Whaley clearly believed in Brown and felt the coaches underutilized him. Now that he has a clear #1 he can get rid of Fred. I just don't think Whaley was a fan. As for Leroi this coming true will not prove too much. But if EJ is cut that will be definitive. I am not sure why Leroi has the same attitude as Tampa Bob re Fred.
  18. I think if they draft another RB then Fred is in trouble. Also get the sense Whaley is not a fan based on what he said about the run game under previous staff.
  19. If it can be voided then it is not "fully" guaranteed. It might be relatively easy to deal with guarantees for football related injury. But guarantees for skill or desire are harder. Let's say a guy comes into camp at 400 lbs. The team wants to cut him for laziness. He claims to be suffering from mental illness e.g. depression and blames it on head trauma. Basically if your voiding clauses are narrow you are going to have to pay. Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy got paid.
  20. How do they use it in trade talks? "TBD posters say your WR is marginal so we can't offer more than a 5th?"
  21. Better get O-Lineman with small butts. For safety reasons.
  22. Well I stand corrected. Never questioned the OP but I guess the random Twitter poster was also correct.
  23. You know, with all that beer money pouring in, he should pay regardless of his political views.
  24. Rice may have the highest chance of re-offending of any of the "problem" players. Couple that with his declining play and... No thanks.
