Bills/Raiders second half game thread
HalftimeAdjustment replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we had a running game we would be a better offense. Draft OL in rounds 1 and 2. -

Update following 1pm game results: If Bills win out AND: 1) Week 16 DEN beats CIN, then in Week 17: 1A) PIT beats CIN, SD beats KC, CLE beats BAL. 1B) PIT beats CIN, KC beats/ties SD, CLE/BAL irrelevant. 1C) CIN beats/ties PIT, CLE beats/ties BAL, KC beats/ties SD. 2) Week 16 CIN beats DEN, then in Week 17 CLE beats/ties BAL, KC beats/ties SD, CIN/PIT irrelevant. If Bills win 1, tie 1 AND 1) In Week 17 CLE beats BAL, KC beats SD, CIN/PIT irrelevant (Week 16 DEN/CIN is irrelevant). In the Bills 9-6-1 scenario, we cannot get ahead of CIN or PIT so it requires everyone else to be 9-7 or worse. Based on this, if the Bills win we should be rooting for DEN over CIN. -

I knew you were joking, but I had the playoff machine open anyhow... -

The Bills will miss the playoffs if everyone else ties and they win out. They will also miss if they tie both games. There are crazy scenarios under which the Bills can get in at 9-6-1, although these will probably be closed by 4pm today. -

Bills win out AND 1) KC beats PIT, BAL beats HOU, DEN beats CIN: Week 17: Need SD/KC tie. Other games irrelevant. 2) KC beats PIT, BAL beats HOU, CIN beats DEN: Week 17: Need SD/KC tie and CIN beat/tie PIT. 3) KC beats PIT, HOU beats BAL, DEN beats CIN: Week 17: Need BAL to lose/tie CLE or SD/KC tie. 4) KC beats PIT, HOU beats BAL, CIN beats DEN: 4A) Week 17 CLE beats BAL, CIN beats PIT, SD/KC irrelevant 4B) Week 17 CLE beats BAL, PIT beats CIN, SD/KC tie 4C) Week 17 BAL beats CLE, CIN beats PIT, SD/KC tie 4D) Week 17 BAL beats CLE, CIN/PIT tie, SD/KC tie 5) PIT beats KC, BAL beats HOU, CIN beats DEN: Bills eliminated. 6) PIT beats KC, BAL beats HOU, DEN beats CIN: Week 17 PIT beats CIN, KC beats or ties SD, BAL/CLE irrelevant. 7) PIT beats KC, HOU beats BAL, CIN beats DEN: Week 17 CLE beats/ties BAL, KC beats/ties SD, CIN/PIT irrelevant. 8) PIT beats KC, HOU beats BAL, DEN beats CIN: 8A) Week 17 CLE beats/ties BAL, KC beats/ties SD, CIN/PIT irrelevant. 8B) Week 17 BAL beats CLE, KC beats/ties SD, PIT beats CIN. 8C) Week 17 CLE beats/ties BAL, SD beats KC, PIT beats CIN. 8D) Week 17 CLE beats/ties BAL, SD ties KC, PIT ties CIN. In some scenarios the "irrelevant" game does determine if the Bills are 5th or 6th seed. There are no remaining scenarios I could find, even with ties, in which the Bills get in at 9-7. That's logical due to the number of 9 win teams already. If the Bills finish 9-6-1 they can get in if Baltimore loses out and KC beats SD in Week 17. I am not going to enumerate all of those scenarios. -
Bears may trade Cutler in offseason...
HalftimeAdjustment replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Git 'r done, Idzik. Cutler to the Jets. -
This thread is great. A few thoughts: first, we never should have benched Doug Flutie and this is more proof of the curse. Second, I wonder if Baltimore fans felt the same way about Lee Evans not making any catches with them. Now you might be saying to yourself, both of those thoughts are pretty stupid and didn't really add anything. My response is, if you read the preceding posts, I think this is the perfect place to add random, seni-coherent ramblings to dilute the thread.

Sammy Watkins = The Real Deal
HalftimeAdjustment replied to Haef's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The good news is he is worth one. Unlike say Aaron Maybin or John McCargo. We can just imagine we used our #9 pick and the 4th to get him, and that next year's pick was a bust. Unless of course Cleveland gets someone useful out of the pick in which case we'll never hear the end of it. -
Orton sliding one yard shy of the 1st down.

Pre-injury EJ would have picked up the first there. -
Freddy`s dead legs.
HalftimeAdjustment replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fred is slower than he used to be, but the reality is, he got several 4-10 yard runs regardless. Several of the plays where he was caught, he had very little chance. There's no guarantee a faster player catches those passes either. I think he would do better if used more effectively. Oddly, there were a couple of runs/receptions today where I thought he would have made more yardage if he went towards the inside. I wonder if the coaches are (incorrectly) setting him up to go outside, which is a mistake to do too often as opposing players are faster. -

Denver beat us because they are a better team. Manning did not even have an outstanding game. -

3 turnovers by both teams and it is 24-3. Feels like a total team beat. By the way we got penalties on both INT returns, Denver did not on theirs (not much return but no penalty). -

If Orton does not show more playmaking soon, we should put EJ in. Really. -

There are also scenarios where we win out, but 2 AFC North teams (other than CLE) as well as either SD or KC also end with 11 wins. In those cases we also miss the playoffs. -

That Playoff Machine is great. According to it, if the following happens: Bills (7-5) beat OAK, go 8-8 Miami (6-5) only beat Jets once, loses all other games, goes 7-9 CLE (7-5) beats BAL Week 17, loses out, goes 8-8 PIT (7-5) beats KC Week 16, loses out, goes 8-8 BAL (7-5) beats MIA Week 14, loses out, goes 8-8 SD (8-4) beats KC Week 17, loses other games, goes 9-7 KC (7-5) loses every game, goes 7-9 HOU (6-6) beats BAL, loses other games, goes 7-9 ... Then the Bills will make the playoffs at 8-8! So, there you have it - no ties necessary and we don't have to beat any top QBs. At least if the playoff machine has calculated tiebreakers correctly. If the Bills beat Denver, we need a lot less help. But in any case, the rooting guide next week should probably be: Bills over Denver (obviously) Indianapolis over Cleveland (definite) Jacksonville over Houston (definite) Arizona over Kansas City (definite) Cinci over Pittsburgh (almost certainly) Baltimore over Miami (iffy, but probably better) New England over San Diego (probably better) -
Can RG3 convert to another position?

I would be very surprised to see the Bills get involved in this mess.
