  1. FWIW most draft previews I've seen don't have a single QB listed as a top 10 prospect.
  2. I like Fewell or Zimmer. We don't need to get fancy on offense. Just need to ground and pound and play defense.
  3. What is his contract situation? He's a lame duck next year right? If so there really two options - extend him (not happening) or fire him. They are not going to bring him back as a lame duck. They are going to have a lot of trouble selling tickets and the only options they have are a new coach or new QB. There is no Luck, RGIII, or Brees available to excite the fan base so the only option is bringing in a new coach.
  4. Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora KCPD Officer Darin Snapp confirms GM Scott Pioli and Coach Romeo Crennel were outside team facility at the time Chiefs player killed himself Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora KCPD say the player thanked both men before taking his life, and that Pioli and Crennel did not feel threatened. KCPD not revealing identity Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora of the player yet to allow time for family notification but team sources say it was LB Jovan Belcher, as reported.
  5. Yeah, this is the kicker...we'll see about tomorrow's game but I'm confident against JAX and STL, I just don't think they are good enough to overcome our homefield advantage in December. Seattle isn't a bad team but they are scrappy more than anything and beatable. We beat Miami without Fred and Tannehill may have hit his rookie wall. Then it all comes down to Sanchez and the Jets. Truth be told we've played the Pats closer over the past 2-3 seasons than we have the Jets. I'm terrified of that game if it means something regardless of how much of a mess the Jets appear to be.
  6. As a Red Sox fan I'm in complete agreement
  7. There is a 500 million dollar relocation fee to consider as well as the building of a new stadium so it may wind up being half as cheap to actually keep them in Buffalo.
  8. I'm thinking it's more of the former for the short term and the latter for the long term. As in, they are negotiating some extensions and know they will need the cap room down the road but instead of waiting and kind of screwing Florence over later in the off-season they just let him go now since he was probably #1 on the hit list with his salary and the depth at CB.
  9. The funniest part about this pick was when you can see an accident coming but there's nothing anyone can do to stop it you just watch it unfold. Everyone and their mother knew it would be the pick but it didn't make it any better.
  10. It's not entirely false. Honey Badger would sometimes drop back into a rover position. Either way Brooks got a ton of playing time last year.
  11. The scary thing about it is if this guy thinks QB was such a glaring need who would he have taken where we picked?
  12. If he can give us what Evans gave us I can't complain. I guess we'll see.
  13. I think Charles Davis nailed it on NFLN. We've got the quick drop with Fitz. We need road graders for Freddie and CJ.
  14. If you listen to guys like Buscaglia and our own good friend John Wawrow it seems as if Gilmore was right behind Kalil and Barron on our board, ahead of Kuechly. So it seems as if we did get our guy. As far as trading back goes, that's an inexact science because you assume that the teams that did trade back still got their guy. So now we're trying to figure out where Gilmore goes in relation to how far down the offers we're getting are. The next guy on our board was probably Kirkpatrick anyway (I am guessing Floyd wasn't on the board since they had basically zero contact with them). There is a lot of moving parts and this was really this first year of all of these shenanigans (last year teams were probably just feeling out the new process so not as much movement). Bottom line is, I guess this should still be TBD. We as fans will never know where Gilmore goes if he doesn't get picked by the Bills so we don't know how far the Bills could have moved down and still gotten their guy. I guess today could tell if they are willing to get their guy but if they have Glenn, Martin, and Adams all ranked similarly they'll probably stay put until two of them are off the board. All in all it's hard to make a definitive case at this point because a) We are not privy to the Bills draft board or any other teams and b) this drafting style just started last night and the Bills have only made one pick so far. Tonight has the potential to tell a lot but there will also be a lot of guys available at the positions of need so if they have guys on the board are rated closely they may not make a move until they are within 2-3 spots of their pick, if they make one at all.
  15. I doubt they get a 1st round pick. Draft picks are not as valuable as they were before the rookie cap so it would seem almost an impossibility for them to get a 1st rounder from where they're picking. As a matter of fact that is probably why they are actually using the picks this year instead of trading them away - the value isn't there anymore. As for their picks yesterday I'm not high on Jones but I do like Hightower quite a bit. But let's remember he was the 25th pick, not the 5th pick, in the 1st round.
  16. You don't draft based on positions. You reach for players that way.
  17. That actually makes a ton of sense...contracts are very similar except more guaranteed for Meachem which was probably the deal breaker in Buffalo.
  18. Buffalo Bills ‏ @buffalobills FA DE Mark Anderson has reported to 1 #Bills Dr. this morning for his official visit. Stay tuned to http://buffalobills.com for more info. How long until he goes to pick up his fiancee?
  19. Judging by his reaction to Sanchez' contract extension I'd say that he's in no hurry to rejoin the Jets.
  20. Relax, he just got to Tempo. Talk to me in 48 hours.
  21. He is, in fact, in Buffalo Buffalo Bills ‏ @buffalobills FA DE Mark Anderson is meeting with Bills staff this evening & is scheduled to visit 1 #Bills Dr. Wednesday morning http://say.ly/aub1BSx
  22. He also said that he'd take care of it in July/August. Why are we worrying in March?
  23. This is all stemming from an interview with John Clayton? Is there a new John Clayton out there that has actual sources and breaks news?
  24. Not to mention all of the guys that we retained, ie. anyone of consequence besides Bell and B. scott and neither of them have signed elsewhere yet.
