Bleh. Out of all the former Bills coaches throughout the league, I think Fewell is the best bet for a future HC job.

Sadly the best reason to stay the course is that new ownership, whoever and wherever they may be will likely want to start over so why bring in another coach to hold over for a year or two?

I wanted to just add, for what it's worth, I was at the game and Stevie was on the sidelines right up front cheering the team on...both sides of the ball...for the whole game. He never sat down once.

The only thing wrong was that they lumped the Lions in with us still. Clearly they haven't been paying attention as the Lions have graduated from purgatory.

Overall I think the defense looked more organized today...they still don't have the players though but if Wannstedt was indeed calling the plays that can't bode well for Edwards.

While it is frustrating that the Bills have been so chronically mediocre and should have been able to make the playoffs at least once in the past decade but era of parity? The Steelers, Patriots and Ravens will likely be the top three teams in the AFC this year. Again. There is no era of parity anymore. At least not in our conference.

Bill...I know that you were hard on Erik Pears earlier in the season but you haven't mentioned him lately. I've thought his play's been solid...any further thoughts on Pears?

I hate to say it but we probably need to re-sign Stevie AND draft a WR high. Nelson is your 3rd guy and Jones would be much more effective as the 4th option at receiver.

Injuries at OLB have hurt us the most. Say what you will about Merriman and Kelsay but they know how to play the position like vertarns ie. know where to take blockers, know how to handle offensive tackles, etc. With Batten, Moats and Coleman it's just run at the QB. Spencer Johnson is also a liability when asked to contribute in pass defense. The position is a mess right now.

Well, Marshawn shared with Freddie the blueprint to beat the Giants and that didn't happen. It's all about personnel really so they blueprint doesn't really work like people think it does. Not to mention things like momentum and the breaks you get throughout the games...I always thought the "blueprint" argument was a weak one.

Honestly they need to split Spiller out more.

Silver lining - we're undefeated in blue unis this year...next two road games we're in the blue unis.

One of the biggest problems I've seen is that the opposing teams haven't employed our strategy of kicking it so they can return and and trying to cover the kick. They just kick it as far as they can. I guess that's what happens when you've got Brad Smith back there. As a matter of fact I read an article a few weeks ago where he talked about being frustrated that he hasn't been able to return any kicks. Not sure about the punt returns but I think our kick-off coverage has been outstanding.
