  1. They also had almost twice the cap room as us...and we had a lot.
  2. UM...I don't think it says what you think it says
  3. If it's anything more than 8 per year I can't be upset that the Bills didn't go there. Good player but not a franchise type player. I'd rather keep Wood long term, he is a better leader and the injury history might keep his price down
  4. Maybe he wa just throwing a pity party at the Bucs GM until he said "ok, ok you can have Freeman"
  5. And it's not like a NFL defensive coordinator who has overseen 4 Top 10 defenses in as many years would have a keener eye for talent than Bill from NYC
  6. Don't forget how much of a dreadful disappointment Cromartie was in SD before Pettine got his hands on him with the Jets.
  7. Yeah but he received what amounts to the first fully guaranteed contract in the salary cap era so that seems like a special case.
  8. First off all we have the cap room to sign both regardless of Fitzpatrick's contract so I'm not sure why you even bring him up. Second off all Byrd likely will sign for more AAV than Levitre on a multi-year deal so clearly you save money by franchising the more expensive player with the smaller franchise number and negotiate long term with the guy who will make less money per year long term yet has the higher franchise number.
  9. The franchise for Levitre is upwards of 9 million though...that's surely more per year than he'd get on the open market. Not sure I understand the logic that franchising Levitre was ever even an option.
  10. You are probably right but Byrd is 2 million less on the cap to franchise so Levitre could be more of a long term priority
  11. Last time we made the playoffs Flutie/Johnson were our QBs. Bledsoe went 0-for-3 here.
  12. He's probably the victim of a numbers game. Nelson is likely more of a priority since Chandler will be out for the beginning of next year and they are likely looking for a bigger faster outside guy. Graham is the speed guy and Stevie is the route runner. Jones does a lot of stuff good but he doesn't really do any one thing great.
  13. Isn't it funny? I swear watching the game I was thinking "this is the same underachiever I saw in Buffalo." He played the same exact game that he did here for 5 years. Hilarious how much love that guy gets just because he's on a good defense now.
  14. This is kind of weird. It's almost like the Buffalo media is trying to accuse the Bills of something and they are not exactly sure what? What is it exactly the Bills are guilty of? They were duped into thinking Doug Marrone was a good coach and he's really not so they are trying to convince everyone of it now? They are lying about people praising him because Parcells doesn't know him? Didn't they have quotes from guys like Herman Edwards and Sean Payton all over the web site after he was hired? I guess I just fail to see the relevant information in JW's post or TG's blog. Weird since two different high-profile media types are basically reporting the exact same thing. What exactly I am not too sure of.
  15. Sure she has a point but didn't one of Welker's teammates kill somebody while driving drunk? Let's face it their aren't many choir boys in the NFL...hell as someone pointed out up-thread Brady has a baby mama actress to go along with his supermodel wife. It's just bad form to go out and say things like that...just reeks of bitterness and pettiness.
  16. How about the Red Sox? Biggest team in the city for decades and they go down the crapper for a few years and fans are embarrassed to be associated with them now.
  17. Why can't we get players like Donte Whitner?
  18. Seriously...athletes can be so fickle...do they really not understand with fans root for teams? It's like 99.9% geographical. Why would you stop rooting for a team from Buffalo if you are from Buffalo? Just goes to show you that some of these guys that put on the uniform simply don't get it.
  19. This kind of exonerates Thamel in my opinion. When the team chaplain says he met her are you really going to question her existence? He even admits that the biggest red flag was when his Stanford contact couldn't find her listed among the alumni and even then he just chalked it up to the fact that she probably dropped out so he omitted the Stanford part. Interesting that towards the end of the one on one he responds to Te'o that the story was "pretty unbelievable". Well, it apparently was.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if he did get duped but basically figured the whole thing out shortly thereafter when he couldn't follow up, no obituary, grave, etc. At that point he was too embarrassed so tried to swallow it.
  21. This is Te'o's problem. No matter if he was duped or not the whole media blitz surrounding him since the Michigan State is an issue. http://www.thebiglead.com/index.php/2013/01/16/anonymous-notre-dame-football-player-he-manti-teo-lied-but-the-media-blew-it-up/
  22. I'll tell y'all one thing, lots of Match.com accounts being deleted tonight. If you have stock sell now.
  23. I think what he meant was that none of this is really new info if you watched the ND press conference.
