It'll be good to get some real evidence to support the ranting people have been doing on either side of this issue on the board.

Serling was an upstate/Western NY guy. He died in the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester; heart attack at age 51.

I wrote this article about it. https://www.americanscientist.org/blog/science-culture/the-twilight-zone-turns-60?fbclid=IwAR1CGz4TWwUOcvQBaZ0-xJWktYKtwVzLAX-_xypXrjIvX2oTxWJEpyZr0pY

The Steelers most definitely "babysat" Ben Rothliesberger the first couple of seasons. The Patriots "babysat" Brady in his first couple as well.

Exactly. This year's Brandon Reilly, or Da'rick Rogers..

The real test for this team is this weekend

I think there is very little chance Allen plays against Tennessee. -

I think going for the TD in the fourth quarter was completely justifiable. I also think Daboll does change up the game plan--he's shown different wrinkles in each of the games, and within the game he changed it up after the half. Looked to me that he wanted Allen to take the short throws and find the hot reads when blitzed, but Allen just couldn't or refused to do it.

I'm thinking both Allen and Singletary do not play in this game. I just hope the Bills do not suffer a letdown after getting sky high for the Pats game. It would be great to go into the bye week 4-1

In EJ Manuel's first game against the Patriots, he brought them from behind to put the Bills in the lead 21-20 in the fourth quarter. The Pats came back and won 23-21. That was a more promising game than this one. And it meant nothing for the future of Manuel or the team.

An observation on Josh Allen's three picks
Dr. K replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
God, to hear you guys talk you'd think Zay Jones was the sole reason the Bills lost, when he should be down below ten in the list of reasons for the loss. Here's my list: 1) Josh Allen's inaccuracy 2) Josh Allen's poor decision making 3) Josh Allen's hero ball 4) Josh Allen's poor ball security 5) Belichick's defensive strategy 6) Bills punt team 7) Lee Smith 8) Bills o-line 9) McDermott's terrible challenges 10) McDermott's awful clock management 11) Zay Jones not playing defensive back on those two interceptions. 12) Zay Jones not catching an uncatchable ball in the end zone. I don't have any emotional investment in Zay Jones. I just think this crusade is nuts. -
The Bills did not prove they could beat the Pats. They are not going anywhere until they do. They prove that when at the end of the game they have more points than the Patriots. Anything else is delusion.

Look, the Bills did not lose the Patriots game because of Zay Jones. They lost it because of Josh Allen. Having said that, it's true they are not getting much from Jones. Maybe they should bench him or give his snaps to somebody else. Everyone here seems to think Duke Williams would be much better. I'm okay with trying that, or with trying Roberts, or McKenzie or somebody else. I just don't expect a huge difference in results.

The drumbeat of "Gilmour sucks!" and "He's a bust!" and "He takes plays off" and "He can't tackle" and "He's the worst cornerback in the league" was deafening. This is part of Bills fan displacement syndrome. There's always a scapegoat, one player the fans focus on whom to unload all their frustrations. There's usually enough truth in their accusations to keep the pot boiling, but at least 75% of their bitching is displacement. The other players on the team should be glad that Zay is on the squad. The minute he is gone it will be someone else's turn in the barrel.

The Zay hate is pathological. For previous examples, consult the Stephen Gilmour hate of years past.

The Bills Defense Just Gave a Master Class
Dr. K replied to Last Guy on the Bench's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This si true. But it's hard to swallow the loss in those circumstances. Too damn many mistakes. It will be interesting to see whether McDermott can get them up to play Tennessee, whther Allen is able to play or not. This is another test: how to react to a dispiriting loss. -

Allen 3rd highest rated passer in 4th Q
Dr. K replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree completely. But the "Fair and Balanced" was sort of an in-joke about what used to be Kelly's name on the board. I guess you had to be there about twelve years ago. I'm getting old. Peace. -

You're just saying that because you are Fair and Balanced. -
Nobody but Bills fans gives a damn about the Bills being 3 and 0. Nor should they. It's all BS and whining unless and until the beat the Patriots. And if they do that, they still have to play twelve more games, and beat as many of those teams as they can. Nobody is going to lie down in front of them just because they won some games. The Bengals certainly didn't care that the Bills were 2-0 going into this game. Everything else is just talk.

The problem is that the same desire to make a play that resulted in the under-pressure passes to Knox and Beasley last week that everybody was in awe of is the same instinct that causes him to throw that dumb interception today. I'm not sure you can have one without the other. Certainly it would help if he could cut such moves to a minimum. And if the o-line could pass protect more consistently. But all in all, I think he's made significant progress and is proving to be strong in the clutch. He clearly has some strength of character to come back from his and the team's mistakes.

Bills (3-0) vs Bengals (0-3) Postgame thread
Dr. K replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If McCoy were on the team we would not have seen Singletary half as much as we have, and would not know how good he could be. McCoy would take a lot of the snaps that now go to Singletary. Plus, McCoy would not have liked giving up snaps to Singletary, if it meant him sitting on the bench. The dynamics of this situation, not cap space, is what led to the Bills letting him go. -
Buffalo Bills to fans on game day: Behave or be gone
Dr. K replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The number of aggressive louts at the games, too drunk to see the field, makes for an unpleasant experience. It's embarrassing when it's not a pain in the butt. The less of this the better.
