Best Way To Sell Stereo Equipment?
Fezmid replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I know AJ has sold things on http://www.audiogon.com/ -
Interesting choice of words, especially given the outrage at Palin's comments recently. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/01/14/schools-chancellor-in-hot-water-over-sophies-choice-comments/

Offer wings. Real wings. I have yet to find a place that sells great pizza and great wings outside of WNY.

Yesterday (MLK day): On this date in 1993, the Bills silenced the largest crowd to watch the Dolphins play in Joe Robbie Stadium with a 29-10 victory in the AFC title game. With the win, Buffalo earned its third consecutive trip to the Superbowl (Game XXVII). I miss those days.... Today: Trent Edwards closed the 2008 season with a career completion percentage of 61.6, the highest in Bills' history. What player held the old mark of 60.5 percent? Answer: Rob Johnson

That, sir, hits the nail on the head.

No way - I'm looking forward to cashing in my $50 next year!

Just like we'd be better without Bledsoe, yet haven't had a winning season since he was here...?

Yes and no. Each character is 1 byte. So if you have 1,000 sentences in your document, you'll save 999 bytes by using a single space instead of a double space after a period, and that's pretty much undetectable. However things aren't even that cut and dry because of the way things are stored on disk. If you have a 10k file, you're probably using at least 16k on the disk. The reason is that the filesystem doesn't allocate byte for byte what you need, it allocates the space clustered together. 8k (8000 bytes) chunks is usually the smallest you'll see nowadays. So both a 9k and 10k file will both use 16k on disk. Now aren't you glad you asked?

I'm in the two space camp, although I get yelled at by the editors of Neowin.net when I do... They allow only single spacing after a period. Now I frequently write my articles in Word, then do a global search/replace to change two spaces into one. There's no way I'll be able to change without a LOT of work; typing for me is all muscle memory at this point.

It was... But during my free time, I've been going to archive.org and re-creating it in the new forum.... It'd be nice to see other people contribute recipes too though.
-
Just want to remind people about the Cookbook/Recipe forum: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/forum/70-two-bills-drive-cookbook-forum/ The goal is to get enough recipes to make an actual cookbook.

Your link's broken: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/english-peas-recipe/index.html But that "recipe" is *awesome!*

Nice article, but I seem to have made a different conclusion than the author... They state: "The club (Packers) pulled in $9.8 million in profits for the fiscal year that ended March 31" We all know that the "average team earning $33M" is worthless, and anybody who has taken a high school stats class can see why. So let's focus on the Packers like they said. They made nearly $10M, but that's BEFORE taxes. Now let's look at player salaries. I pulled up Ryan Fitzpatrick's numbers, and he earned $3M in 2009: http://content.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/salaries/playerdetail.aspx?lname=fitzpatrick&player=3742 Peyton Manning earned $14M in 2009: http://content.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/salaries/playerdetail.aspx?lname=manning&player=1448 So should a team, which is assuming all of the business risk, make only a few million more than an average quarterback in the league? Should the business earn $4M less than the starting QB? I just don't think less than $10M in profits in a year is really that high when you look at how much the team has to spend in order to earn that $10M. Maybe it's just me?

Well, in the two weeks we were in Europe, there was a train strike in Barcelona (for 4 hours), a garbage collection strike in Sicily, and a student protest in Athens. So you might be right!
-
Well, there was no smoke coming out of the smoke stack in Barcelona...
-
Italy, Greece, Spain all look that way - apartments everywhere and no "real" houses. Here's a picture from Barcelona that's similar: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43777639@N06/5255342742/in/set-72157625584226062/

I was referring to the article itself, not your post. You don't need to -- this isn't a new format, it just upconverts/upscales/interpolates new data into existing movies. There's been devices that do similar things for years, mainly for SD or DVD.

I would argue that this is a bad thing, not a good thing. My projector has "frame interpolation" mode and while it makes the picture look REAL, it's also very creepy looking. Artificial sharpening, adding frames, etc, is not usually a good thing. Using the word "better" is also HIGHLY subjective.

Yes, I know -- and when I try to change it, it says "Error: You do not have permission to edit this topic."

Yeah, saw that as soon as I clicked submit but it won't let me change it for some reason.

Looks like someone is selling their Bengals fan card in exchange for another team. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item20b65b4b3b He states that, "No need to apply: Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals - because you have also proven you could care less about winning." They talked about this on the radio this morning, and the sports anchor for NBC in the Twin Cities said something like, "That's really not fair to the Bills. They went to all of those Superbowls in a row, and have looked like they're at least trying to win." Thought it was a cool shout-out, even though we are sad.... EDIT: Tried to change the title to Bengals, but it won't let me - don't have permissions. Oh well.

Looking to hire another marketing person
Fezmid replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
So does that put her in the "hire" or "not hire" category? Don't answer that, you might get in trouble either way. -
Nope - all of the networks complain about wanting more money at some point.
-
Interesting concept and although there isn't real money involved, it sounds like there are Avatar items and the like. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/09/full-house-poker-preview-know-when-to-hold-em/
