And this says it all. The media types talk out of both sides of their mouth. They say that the Bills don't have more guys in the HoF because they didn't win the big game. Well guess what, Brown was crushed by those teams that didn't win the big game, so why should HE be in? It's like winning 4 straight AFC Championships is a negative to these guys. I don't get it. Do we get to hear the final 10 before 7pm?

The reason I'd want to see Sanders not make it first ballot is because he played soft and never wanted to tackle. I remember a game against the Bills where Buffalo purposely ran towards his direction all the time - and on more than one occasion he moved away from the play because he didn't want to get hit. As for Bettis - I'm with you there. He has more yards than I expected, but I don't consider him a HOF candidate. That said, the media absolutely LOVED him in his final Superbowl season, and since they vote....

Just how big is the new Starbucks Trenta?

Good thing it's only for cold drinks. http://www.treehugger.com/files/2011/01/starbucks-cup-bigger-than-human-stomach.php -
Not sure, but here's how you become a cereal killer (props to WNY band Green Jello, later renamed Green Jelly):: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERej3-N1p-4 Bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Jell%C3%BF

ATDHE.net and channelsurfing.net seized by government

That's actually not always true. While you'll see the same national commercials, the local affiliates get to put their own commercials in as well. So if you watch the Buffalo broadcast, it will have different commercials at times compared to the Miami broadcast (for example). -

You're thinking two years ago -- last year there was no extra charge for HD, there was only an extra charge for streaming. And if you went to the bar every week, you spent far more than $250. -

First, Sunday ticket is $334 -- http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/nfl So if you only care about one team, you're paying ~$20/game if you pay full price. Watch a couple of games every week (17*2), and it's only $9.82/game. Yeah, that's a real ripoff. Most people don't even pay that much for the Ticket . I paid around $200-$250 last year if I remember correctly. If you don't have/want DirecTV, you can get it via broadband for $350 -- not much more than if you have DirecTV and still only $20/game. But be honest, you want it for free. Everything's available for a price, but I'm sure it would be cost prohibitive since the networks want eyes going to their main site (NBC.com instead of the local affiliate). -

Do you know what free speech actually means....? Or are you one of the people who posts that your rights are being violated when a mod deletes an offending post on TSW? Also - from the notification, it seems to me that they DID get court approval. It states, "in accordance with a seizure warrant." Doesn't a warrant require a judge? I could be mistaken there in this context though. EDIT: Tom beat me to it, so I now I know I'm right. -

Back in the 90s when people started streaming radio, they were being shutdown. Radio stations can stream now because they PAY for it. And not every radio station streams -- not for technical reasons (well, I'm sure some do), but because they haven't paid for retransmission rights. -

After reading this thread, I'm still shocked that there are some on the board who say that I have no respect for intellectual property... They have adopted and changed their business plans... There are any number of ways to watch TV and movies online now. You can stream games through to your Sprint phone (according to the commercials during NFL games, anyway). You can watch games with DirecTV's streaming service. You can watch movies/TV shows through Hulu, Netflix, Blockbuster Online. You can stream the NBC game of the week online. The difference is people in this thread want to be able to watch them for *free.*. The RIAA screwed up by trying to shut the digital doors completely, but TV/movies haven't really done that - there are options. -

I know I've seen links to the sites from people on the board: http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/972678-oh-crap-feds-just-shut-down-atdhenet-and-channelsurfingnet/page__pid__593655546#entry593655546 -
Nice catch. I still love it.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Good question. There's apparently a video somewhere (it was on Dr. Phil I guess?), and from what I've read it must not have been that hot. The kid was crying, but from getting in trouble, not from the sauce. Or so I've read.

What do people here think about this? I used to love hot sauce as a kid... http://www.ktre.com/Global/story.asp?S=13940097

You were correct (I posted that last night too ). I tried pushing it to the left when it first happened, but just didn't push it hard enough. My wife turned the breaker on today and everything seems to be fine. Yay for not having to spend money!
-
Crisis averted. After reading more online, I kept seeing references to "ensuring the circuit is fully off before turning it back on." So I went back to the breaker and pushed it all the way to the left -- which I could've sworn I tried before but must not have. It moved all the way to the left, so I then pushed it back to the right and everything appears to be working. I'm leaving it off overnight, just in case... Will turn it on when I"m not sleeping, since I don't want to burn to death... Just in case.
-
The power strip is actually fine... And the circuit breaker in it didn't even trip. Stupid piece of junk. I tested all 6 outlets in the strip, and they all work. Looking at the outlet from the outside, it looks fine but I'll pull the plate off tomorrow and check it out. If it's the electrical box though, I think I"m calling in a pro -- I don't trust touching that...

Ok, I think I know the answer to this but want to get a second opinion. So my wife has an electric blanket that she loves. Uses it all the time. Well today she wasn't paying attention and somehow the cord got stuck in the recliner. When she lowered the recliner, the wire was sheared, and the breaker it was on was tripped just like it was supposed to be. I unplugged the blanket, went into the basement and tried to reset the circuit breaker -- but it won't stay in the "on" position. There's no "click" and reset, it just refuses to stay "on." So based on my reading, I'm assuming that the breaker is fried and I need to have it replaced. Does this sound about right? Is there something else I should have looked at as well (the blanket was plugged into a surge protector/power strip which was plugged into the wall). Like I said, everything seems normal. I've never liked electric blankets...

I'm with ya -- and am very happy that I got to go a couple of months ago, because like you said, I don't think I'd want to go now.... Thing is, everyone was very friendly when we were there (except the people peddling their crappy wares by the pyramids and Sphinx - they were annoying as hell). Our guide did say a couple of things that in hindsight indicated general displeasure though. First, there was an election a week or two before we got there. He said he didn't even care to vote because he hated both choices and most of the people he knew felt the same way. Second, he was very upset that many women dressed in "western" clothes. He thought that they should be covered like traditional Islam requires. He also said that women don't know how to drive. So if the protests "succeed" and the government is toppled -- what happens next? Do they become a strict form of Islam where women are once again oppressed? Are women protesting or is it mainly men?

So much for BillsFanInCairo. I was just there a couple of months ago, weird to read about what's going on there now.
