  1. And people think I'm crazy when I bring home 200 Duff's wings....
  2. I only streamed a couple of games last year, both late in the season (around the holidays), but it looked great on my connection and there were no problems...
  3. Just watched "Women in Trouble" -- good movie, I enjoyed it. Definitely wasn't expecting to see Simon Baker (the Mentalist) in it! Too bad EL isn't streaming on Netflix.
  4. Happy birthday CL!
  5. Have you looked at Virgin Mobile? My wife just signed up and the service seems good. For $25/month, you get unlimited data and text, plus around 300 minutes I believe. For $45, you upgrade to unlimited minutes. It uses Sprint's network. So far she's been pretty happy with it.
  6. After watching the clip, I saw a "see the next clip" button so I clicked it. Hilarious dialog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS4wARMb3vQ&feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_62623 It says it's from Electra Luxx. Just added it to my Netflix queue.
  7. I have no idea what you're trying to say or imply by calling me out. But as I predicted, people in Wisconsin want to stay on this road -- it's working, the economy is growing, taxes/fees are staying the same, and we're a good model for the rest of the country (despite the lame "shame" cryers). The jobs are in Wisconsin, that's where: http://www.weau.com/news/headlines/Gov_Walker_hints_at_positive_unemployment_numbers_125957783.html "a total of 39,300 private-sector jobs have been created since he took office in January"
  8. Apparently the citizens of my state disagree with you. It's still a republican controlled state, despite what you were thinking. Plus two democrats are up for recall in a few days. I have no idea how that will play out; I haven't paid much attention outside of my district. Shelly "I breath Union" Moore was trounced, as predicted.
  9. Thanks. I'm supposedly getting a NAS device to review in the next week or two. Should be fun. Still not sure if I'm doing a giveaway for the iTwin or not. I've asked the company a couple of times and they haven't given me a definitive answer yet -- only said, "We're adding functionality and you can review that too!" Except that functionality is Mac support... And I don't have a Mac to test it on anyway. If I get to give it away, I'll let everyone know though.
  10. Gotta say, camp is a lot harder than I expected... And the new CBA kinda screwed me over financially... But I figured while everyone here was bitching about the team, I'd actually try to make the team better. And I think I'm doing a fairly good job at it so far. Watch me in the first preseason game, I'm playing for you guys!!! GO BILLS!
  11. A couple of my coworkers have the pen and really like it.
  12. Not really sure.... But I can tell you that there's no difference between something recording and the "live feed." In both cases you're still recording it to the hard drive before playing it on your TV. Sorry I can't be of more help on this one, it doesn't make any sense... If it's happening on two individual DVRs though, it almost has to be something wrong with your setup. I just can't think of what...
  13. Bugs and crashes on that "other" crap? Windows 7 is buggy and sucks...? Maybe it's time to look in the mirror.
  14. Ummm, I think you might be confused; just because everyone has to pay King Jobs for the privilege of using the mighty iOS platform, doesn't mean that there isn't a pile of garbage apps on the platform. As an example, here's a video of 31 fart apps for the iPhone being used in 90 seconds... http://www.tuaw.com/2009/02/10/31-fart-apps-in-90-seconds/
  15. I haven't looked at the differences between the Transformer and the Xoom, but I have the latter and love it. SD slot (finally activated), regular HDMI cable (Apple has a proprietary format that you have to pay $40 for), multiple app stores (Amazon gives away a free app every day, the official marketplace is nice too). And like Tom said, I hate the iTunes ecosystem - if they don't get a cut of the deal, you're not allowed to play with them. No thanks. Since you already have an Android phone, an Android tablet is a no-brainer (similar to folks who get an iPad simply because they already have apps for their iPhone).
  16. Why not? Their families are still alive...
  17. Ummm..... S&P said that they cut the rating because of spending... Not because the debt ceiling wasn't raised fast enough, not because we cut too much. The Tea Party wanted to REDUCE SPENDING.... Which is what S&P wanted as well...
  18. Yeah, been down almost two days.... Stupid air conditioning unit leaked on the servers. Great data center.
  19. There's a difference between "common area" (like a lawn) and "exclusive use common area" (like a balcony, patio, or driveway). They can regulate a common area, but they can't regulation an exclusive use common area. The laws that are being referenced are the FCC's OTARD rules. Details can be found here: http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html Lawyers don't always know anything (no offense ). I live in a townhome association and the board tried making all sorts of rules against satellite dishes. They even brought in the association's lawyer to draft it up. I ripped his document to little shreds and pointed out that all but one line was completely unenforceable. I showed the lawyer the OTARD rules and he found them very interesting... Glad we're paying him big bucks. Anyway, I ended up re-writing the rules (for free) and it's the policy we still have in place here. They were originally put into place because landlords (and associations) were getting kickbacks from cable companies to force people into buying their service. ie: We'll give you $10,000 if you tell everyone they can't have a dish.
  20. I haven't been posting all of the Kickstarter articles I've written, but figured some here might be interested in this one: http://www.neowin.net/news/kickstarter-control-your-power-outlets-via-wi-fi
  21. Pretty cool that I'm one of the fastest linebackers on the team. Unfortunately I'm the worst rated of them all... Madden sucks.
  22. http://www.neowin.net/news/happy-sysadmin-day
  23. A tiny amount. If that article gets up to 4,000 hits I'll make $5. The review took me about 3-4 hours to write... So I'd be better off flipping burgers from a financial perspective. But it's fun, is a little extra spending money, looks good on a resume (I hope), and lets me go to conferences for free which is the biggest draw for me. I went to the HP Discover conference on HP's dime back in June, and it looks like I'll be going to the CES conference in January on the site's dime. So that makes it worth it, IMHO.
  24. We seem to hate everyone around here at one time or another, so probably. Thanks for sharing it around, guys! It has roughly 3,800 hits so far.
