  2. Definitely go! I've been on three cruises and have enjoyed them all. The first one we did was to Alaska. My wife wanted to do a cruise, I wasn't so sure it would be fun - images of old people playing shuffleboard filled my head. We compromised on Alaska because I really wanted to see the sites there, and she wanted a cruise. It was fantastic. Here's a video I made from the trip: Next we decided to do a two week Hawaii cruise - across the Pacific! That was wonderfully relaxing as we had four days on the way there and four days on the way back to just sleep in, relax, sit by the pool, watch the ocean, see shows, etc, etc. A great time. The last cruise we did was a Med cruise -- although ours was two weeks, so had more ports than you're going to. Barcelona is an AMAZING city -- spend a few days there before the cruise (and maybe after!) and just enjoy the city. There's SO much to do there! Just beware of pickpockets - it's one of the worst cities for that.... We didn't have any problems, but we were also very well prepared. As for what to expect -- it's whatever you want it to be. Do you want to rock cilmb? Play mini golf? Fine. Want to play cards or slots? Ok. Want to hang out by the pool and drink? No problem. There's a ton of stuff to do and you'll never get bored. You'll also meet a lot of cool people, especially if you go to dinner in the main dining hall. It's assigned seating, and you get to know the people you eat with. On our Med cruise, it was cool because we were with a couple from Rochester, NY - so had a lot in common to talk about. I agree with most of what Jack said - except we always wanted to get off the ship and see as much of the port as possible, so we booked early excursions. I do highly recommend going through the ship though - they're a little more expensive, but they guarantee they won't leave without you. You have no such guarantee if you go off on your own, although our experience in Hawaii is that they will wait regardless... We didn't leave one of the islands because a lot of people were at WalMart buying supplies... (much cheaper than buying them on the ship -- we went to stock up too since it was going to be a four day trip back ). I'm not sure if you have any specific questions -- but I can highly recommend a cruise. It lets you see a lot of cool areas in a short amount of time. Here's some pictures from our trip: Let me know if you have any questions.
  3. And you must be too young to remember the class that players like Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas had.
  4. My in-laws bought me an authentic Reed jersey a couple of years ago - love it!
  5. Fixed.
  6. Sisco > everyone else Reminds me of a lyric from the Weird Al song, "White and Nerdy": Only question I ever thought was hard was do I like Kirk? Or do I like Picard?
  7. They made a documentary about the guy from the worst movie in the history of cinema...? Where's the "gun to my head" smiley when you need it?
  8. If you're going to do that, watch the original - Let the Right One In. EDIT: Whoops, this is already being discussed. I didn't watch the remake because they usually suck, but since you gave it a positive review I might check it out. As to the topic - my wife loves reading. She read all of the Twilight books, but her exact words were, "I don't like any of the characters... But I can't explain why I want to keep reading them."
  9. There's only 5 teams left - it's pretty much every team for themselves at this point anyway.
  10. Kinda. What do you need?
  11. Had that in England - awesome!
  12. I think I saw on a TV show or something where someone put a pinch of salt in their cola and that made it taste better. Not sure if that's true or not.
  13. I don't think that word means what you think it means.
  14. A condiment thread? Really? I use Plochman's the rare times I use mustard. To steer this back to football -- you should buy some Andre Reed Over the Middle (OTM) sauce: http://www.andrereedotm.com/ It's basically BBQ sauce but it's really good. I've taken to using this on burgers instead of ketchup/mustard.
  15. But again, it's part of the game. You don't want to be U-turned, then get to the U-Turn before anybody else. That's the perk to being in the lead. I understand being upset at the time -- but people on the show take it REALLY personally. Or on the opposite end, "I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I'm not going to U-turn anyone." Huh? It's a game. This is part of the game. Why wouldn't you use it?
  16. He didn't claim the challenge because they didn't know what the challenge was going to be... They have to decide who is doing the road block based on a vague description. You can blame him for a lot of stuff this season (he's annoying), but not that one. As for the U-Turn, I REALLY don't understand why people get so pissed off about it. It's part of the game -- why WOULDN'T you use it? When you play a game of Monopoly and get the card, "Collect $100 from every player," do you say, "No, nevermind, YOU keep it!" No. Why is it looked upon as the most vile thing you could possibly do?

  18. I have to say that officiating IS fun. I officiated high school for a year (should never have stopped...), and it was great. The kids were awesome to work with and VERY respectful. The parents, on the other hand.... But it was cool because the head ref I worked with the most was actually a ref for the Big 10, so I learned a lot of tricks of the trade. I try to cut the refs some slack (although I do my fair share of complaining) because it really is a different beast working on the field. My first game, I had so many nerves that I somehow missed the kid calling for a fair catch on a punt return. How do you miss that?!?! To this day I still have no recollection of him calling FC, but luckily the other ref blew the play dead (and then chewed my ass out...) so that the kid didn't get creamed. It's a fun hobby if you have some free time.
  19. Most of the postseason and ProBowl doesn't require anywhere near as many refs as the regular season -- so you're down to 21 weeks. The whole part time vs full time is lame; MLB, NBA, and NHL refs screw up all the time and they're full time (remember NO GOAL?). And if the league is nudging things to make a better narrative, it doesn't matter if the refs are full time or part time.
  20. I like the double standard -- they can record others, but others shouldn't record the OWS people. http://www.pixiq.com/article/occupy-san-diego-activists-attack-woman-recording-them This one's hilarious too -- especially when you get past the crazy bandana guy to the guy flipping off the camera and saying, ""My mom has an MBA and I have a $400k house, don't talk to me like I'm trash." http://www.pixiq.com/article/occupy-portland-protester-turns
  21. It was a moving truck though, not a taxicab...
  22. I disagree. In fact some of my coworkers now watch Bills games when they're on because they know how rabid a fan I am, and even they get pissed at how one sided the refs seem to be. And remember, they're neutral third parties and I rarely bring the refs up to them at all.
  23. Friendly reminder for those of you not at the game -- would love to have you on the IRC chat room!
  24. On top of the free 2 day shipping, you can pay $3 for overnight shipping for cases where you need it immediately. In addition, you can share your Prime membership with other "family" members. So it normally costs $80, but if you find three other people to share with, you can each pay $20 instead. $20 for free shipping, free streaming, and now a free book rental a month? Seems like a deal to me.
  25. Today? I thought it was Friday?
