  1. Heck, TBD/TSW could go away with SOPA.
  2. Are you trying to claim that these are two pieces of good legislation? http://blog.reddit.com/2012/01/technical-examination-of-sopa-and.html
  3. To be fair, we did get a first rounder (and more?) for Peters. Hardly "peanuts."
  4. Ahh, good catch. For some reason they're not listed as "Research in Motion," but rather, "Blackberry by Research in Motion" in the exhibitor guide. So they didn't show up under the letter R. http://ces12.mapyourshow.com/5_0/exhibitor_results.cfm?type=alpha&alpha=B I'll definitely check 'em out and see what they're showing.
  5. They're unfortunately not going to be at the show. And as others mentioned, they seem to be dying although companies have turned it around in the past (Apple almost went out of business back in the day). I just got a Blackberry Torch from work and I love it, but their time may have passed.
  6. No, just getting old. The mind's the second thing to go. What's the first?
  7. I'll be in Vegas next week for CES - can't wait! It sounds like it's an awesome trade show with lots of cool gadgets. I should be posting stuff quite a bit, so feel free to check out my site if you get a chance. My stuff all gets posted here: http://www.neowin.net/profile/christopher_white I'm on Twitter as well with the ever-unique name of @Fezmid
  8. Last game of the season - let's go out with a bang by denying the Patriots home field advantage in the playoffs!
  9. Yeah - it's roughly the same (or cheaper) as buying a regular book. And the library thing apparently works well if they offer it in your area. That's why my wife's situation works out so well -- her mom, dad, and sister-in-law all have a Kindle as well. So if any one of them buys a book, the other three can then read it if they want. It doesn't always work out (father-in-law doesn't read romance, for example), but sometimes it works out great (they're all reading the Game of Thrones series, I believe).
  10. My wife never leaves the house without her 2nd gen Kindle. She got the Kindle Fire for her birthday last month and she loves that too, although mostly for Facebook/email/surfing/games. She still usually uses the Kindle for reading.
  11. Yeah - but you don't buy it, it's free. http://www.amazon.co...ndle%20for%20pc That said, the cheap Kindle readers are great -- and are only $80: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051QVESA/ref=famstripe_k
  12. You just install the Kindle software on your PC, buy the book, and read. Whatever you buy is forever associated with your account - so if you buy a Kindle device later, it'll automatically load it up for you. My wife's family all have Kindles tied to one account - so they can all share their books.
  13. So is Ralph cheap or does he overpay? Can't have both narratives going at one.
  14. For those of you who have a Playstation 3 instead of an Xbox 360, I'm giving away two free codes for you too. http://www.neowin.net/news/giveaway-vengeance-and-virtue-pinball-for-psn
  15. Had today off, have tomorrow off as well. Then I "work" Wed-Fri, but it'll be dead as the company is officially closed.
  16. Season 1 was actually kinda cool in a way. It wasn't really a competition because the fans did 100% of the voting. But CBS gave everybody free access to the live feeds the entire time, so it was just interesting to watch what people did to try avoiding being bored. They were pretty much all friends because it didn't make sense to have enemies since you had no control over the game in general. The big scandal was that someone one of the contestants knew set up a phone bank to vote so that he'd get a ton more votes than others. It was a simpler time.
  17. They do! You have Xbox Live, you just don't have the Gold membership. You can download games (and buy games) with only silver, which is the default.
  18. Zen Studios just released a new Marvel Pinball 4-pack for their pinball FX2 game and it's really good. I'm a big pinball fan, and these games are good representations of the real thing. The latest tables include X-Men, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight (who?), and Thor. They're pretty good, and I'd appreciate the click as well as any comments. http://www.neowin.net/news/review-marvel-pinball-vengeance-and-virtue In addition, I have two download codes to give away -- and if this is anything like the last pinball giveaway I did, there will be less than 100 entrants so you have pretty good odds for a free contest. http://www.neowin.net/news/giveaway-vengeance-and-virtue-pinball-for-xbox-360 Next week I'll be giving out PS3 codes too. Let me know what you think!
  19. You do realize that there were a lot of successful smartphones before the iPhone, right...? The article is just pointing out the FIRST, which is an interesting history lesson, nothing more.
  20. You do realize that all of the elite players get picked by crappy teams, right...?
  21. My Buffalo Bills calendar says that's tomorrow...
  22. Not entirely related, but figured people in this thread might find this article interesting (I didn't write it tho): http://www.neowin.net/news/trivia-tuesday-apple-invention-misconceptions
  23. Jackson has a broken leg and can't walk, let alone run. Obviously Spiller is better right now.
  24. Never give up, never surrender! --Galaxy Quest
  25. And Buffalo crushed the Chiefs... Therefore, Buffalo must be the best team in the league!
