Love how you state this as if it is a fact. Here's my deal. I think a better plan is to build the talent around the QB if you don't have won. it is possible to win that way and have fun seasons as we saw last year and Jacksonville did too. Always be on the lookout for a good QB and when you have a chance to get one, go for it. This is what they Saints did. they were making playoffs and not advancing with Blake. Then they got a chance to get Drees and they plugged him and were ready to take off. We could have drafted Watson with that 10th pick for example. As it is now we have wasted a year developing long shot Josh Allen because we have such a dearth of talent we can't even evaluate him. He is running for his life and developing bad habits. How does this make sense? Didn't have to be this way. -

Good idea. Let's put on sackcloth and ashes and crawl into a hole and sing woe is us. Come on man, is this what we've come to? We don't even want to win? -
i do. Nasty Nate does not deserve to start. its embarrassing. i hate it. I fear the result of this will be Coach McDermott losing the locker room. More guys will need to dumped due to not respecting the process. Maybe a player or two will retire similar to like Aaron Schobel did creating MORE holes. When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. Play Barkley. Maybe he's learned something. Doubtful, but we already know Nasty Nate can't learn anything. He thinks a Hail Mary is running play,

This remains to be seen. I know I'm in the minority, but I would rather once we got playoffs and 2 winning season in last 4 years we try to remain competitive and add talent instead of dumping talent for possible maybes. Last year made the playoffs and were 7 points short of advancing. it's not like we've been going 4-12 for the last 4 years. Try to make the playoffs 2 years in a row. I know 90 mil blah blah blah. Not buying it. -

Of course you could also find a sucker to trade out of their #10 pick. -

Actually we're still paying him. so it wouldn't be 16 mil hit, it'd be like a net 8 mil hit. AND we get to take advantage of his services. He is tough. He probably wouldn't be injured like the rest of the guys we got. Screw winning though. Draft picks and 90 mil blah blah blah are better. Makes for fun Sunday afternoons at the Ralph. Laughing at ANOTHER turnover for a TD and booing Nasty Nate lustily for trying to run in a Hail Mary is fun. -

Because he did last year. That Bears game is the kind we won last year. He wouldn't have given up 14 and we probably would have score 20 or so. -

In his post game PC McDermott said he wants to protect the football and win one on one matchups. If that is really your plan, why would you run off the QB that protects the football like no other and start a guy that doesn't respect the football? What do we know about winning SBs? How about we just try to be competitive for a few years first and build from there? -

Worst QB in NFL history is how you do it. i like your idea of improving. But it would probably be better to not dump the guy you can win with until you have something better. Clearly we don't and did not improve. HUGE FAIL. Inexcusable IMHO. I'd step into the one that results in way more wins and playoffs. -

Hotrod was holding us back. It was because he can't throw the football that far. he had time. it wasn't because guys weren't open, they're not supposed to be. It's kind of the point. he was trying to break Fitz' record of longest run by a QB for a TD. 31 yards. How did he think he was going to score with 4 defenders camped out in the EZ? -
Possible power play by Beane?
reddogblitz replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If only one were to be fired I'd go with Beane. McDermott has at least shown he can win with a semi talented team even with a competent QB. Bean e took over a decently talented roster and gutted it to the point even 90 mil blah blah blah won t be enough to fix. Seats are starting to heat up. -
Finally the end for peterman???
reddogblitz replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think he took off running because he physically can't throw the football that far. -

and can win. You left that part out. -
I think McD and B could actually be fired because of this. Last year we made the playoffs. 9 games later and we're even more of a punch line than before. I was at the game today and they were being laughed at and mocked by their own ticket buying fans. Terry has an itchy trigger finger. Oh, and EJ IS right. Peterman?? Barkley??Anderson?? Really??

How many coaches/GMs survive a tank?
reddogblitz replied to uticaclub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, but it's a little different when you trade out of the pick and the team you traded with takes him. OUCH -
who woudn't? Both of those teams have good Ds year in and year out btw. What I'm not willing to do is tank and suck in the eternal quest for the golden armed franchise QB which we have and are doing. Losing sucks I watch Bills games on Sunday and it's just so much more fun when we win. Last year was fun because watching other games late in the year meant something. What do we know about being a team like that? How about we just be competitive and make the playoffs first. Build from there.

Even though technically not fired, Doug Marrone. Pete Carroll a couple of times. Bruce Arians Mike Mulrkey won a playoff game last year George Allen Gene Stallings although he won his Championship in college football Marv Levy Dan Reeves fired by Denver and got Atlanta to SB Chuck Knox got Seahawks to AFC Championship game after leaving Buffalo Tony Dungee John Gruden

Blake Bottles was in the ARC Championship game last year and his team beat Big Ben's team to get there. Not saying you don't need a qb, but you can still be successful (i call making afc championship a successful season) with an average one on a good team if you play your cards right. That said, hopefully Wonder Boy rewrites the record book and wins multiple Lombardis FOR US.

Brandon Beane deserves to be fired tomorrow
reddogblitz replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We made the playoffs last year and came within a TD from advancing and would have probably the year before if Rex could coach D. Pair this D with Rex's #1 rushing offense teams (which was top 1/3 in league in scoring btw) and we'd be contenders. I'm not saying run a 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense. But we don't have to tank and cry woe is us if we don't have a QB like Drew Brees on our team either. Jaguars didn't have a high powered offense last year and they made it to AFC championship game. Titans didn't either and they won a playoff game. (before you ask, after what we've been through the last 20 years, yes, I would be very satisfied with that). Final 4 QB last year were Foles, Tommy, Case, and Blake freakin' Bortles. All four had top 5 Ds.
