  1. I actually think that if the Ds were to all rally around Bernie he would have a decent shot. The whole Bernie is like Stalin and Castro is way overblown and most people with a brain realize that. He's running for president, not dictator. As George W Bush himself told us, "a dictatorship would be a lot easier."
  2. He's trying to out Trump Trump which is a bad strategy. That's how you get more Trump. Just ask Hillary and Marco.
  3. You know I was thinking about this. When Elizabeth Warren said Mike Bloomberg could let those ladies off the hook for the NDA on national TV and then Uncle Joe kicked in, he can end it now if he wants, I was thinking of what one of his proponents, Judge Judy, would say about it. It is a contract. So you go only with what's within the four corners of the contract. If the contract didn't say they could be released from it if Bloomberg said so on national TV, then even if he did say it was, legally it wouldn't be. I would suspect that getting it from the company would be in the contract.
  4. It actually makes perfect sense since the reward is named after a guy that totally fabricated "news" of happenings in Cuba leading public outcry for us to get into the Spanish American War resulting in 4000 deaths of American servicemen. He ushered in the new term Yellow Journalism. Reward lairs with a prize named after a liar. Tom Hamburger. Is that his real name or a code name?
  5. I was at the Seattle/Tampa Bay game. My experience was pretty much like yours. It was fun. And it was competitive football in February, what's not to like? A dud got a pick six on the 2 yard line as he rushed the passer he put his arms up and caught the football and walked in the EZ. Sweet. The fans started chanting for the backup QB. Then 2 plays later Silvers threw a 68 yard bomb for a TD. That ended that. I'm wondering if this is why the offenses have been weak so far. they always say the defense jells before the offense. They've only played 2 games. Maybe it will get better. That said, Cardale's offense seems to be doing just fine.
  6. Yet our coach and players say on a regular basis that they compete with each other at practice and the competition makes them stronger. Why should this philosophy not also apply to the QB position?
  7. We have troops in Japan too. I know, I was one. But Korea is still considered to be on what with our troops stationed a couple of miles from theirs. It IS the most militarized border in the world and no one has of yet surrendered or agreed to leave. As far as Japan and Germany go, they surrendered. WW II is officially over. Korea not so much.
  8. Doesn't that depend on the Taliban not being violent for a whole week which hasn't happened yet? I hope it works. Didn't he also have deal between Palestine and Israel last month? Never confuse effort with results. Not sure why you're coming after me as some NeverTrumper snowflake or something. My post was questioning DR's comment that no endless wars was a D strategy. However, the fact remains that that the 2 endless wars Trump inherited have continued to 3+ years under Trump. I hope he does end them, but so far has not.
  9. Has he ended Iraq or Afghanistan yet? What does "on the verge" of ending Afghanistan mean? Are there still troops there? I'll give him credit for ending the Afghanistan War when it's over during his term(s). Same goes for Korea. Until then, we still have 2 endless wars and Korea going on on his watch.
  10. Good point. But, what is the big deal? I have not heard him tell any stories of being in combat. Unless I missed something. He WAS in the Navy IN Afghanistan. Are you saying that's not true? So he got in without having to go to boot camp? Is that his fault? If you don't like it, complain to the Navy. Where exactly has he misrepresented about his service? He's not Blumthal at least that I've heard. If I'm wrong, please point it an instance of him lying about his military record.
  11. Are you sure this is a democrat policy? Viet Nam was ratcheted up by Kennedy and LBJ. Many, many democrats voted for Iraq War. Obama had 2 endless wars running during his 8 year presidency and he didn't get us out of either one of them. Come to think of it, neither has Trump in 3+ years.
  12. Someone needs to remind Mike that trying to out Trump Trump is how you get more Trump.
  13. I really don't care what the left's narrative on it means. I meant it as an attack on a veteran mostly by non veterans (Jerome Corsi etc.). I most certainly am not smearing any veterans.
  14. I haven't really looked into it at all. I took him at his word, which see as to how he is a politician, may not be a good assumption. I will look into it. I was in the USMC but not in wartime. But as a non wartime vet, it irks me more to hear people criticize wartime vets cuz having seen and shot some of these weapons, that it's no place for pussies. It's real easy to sit on your couch and criticize people that were there for not doing enough. I will pay closer attention to what he actually says about his experiences and do some research. But I'm not going to take what you post from Twitter to have any semblance of truth attached to it.
  15. The Swift Boating of Mayor Pete is officially under way. Right wingers love the military and veterans until s/he is running for prez for the Ds. If Tulsi were to get into contention, she'd get the same treatment. I like you DR and a lot of what you post, but this is pathetic IMHO.
  16. Many of which we didn't like in the Houston and Eagles games.
  17. How long does Barack get to keep getting credit? We're 37 months in. I'll give Barack credit for what the economy did when he was president. But that was then, this is now. We're 3 years down the road. Plenty of time for Donald to blow it if he was so inclined. Sort of like saying Josh Allen is lucky because Tyrod built up a playoff team before he got here. Josh has just been lucky.
  18. The person that gets the most delegates wins. Pete won Iowa. Bernie won NH. It's not complicated.
  19. While you are right about this,it also sounds like a long laundry list of excuses. The talent and coaching around him was good enough to win 10 games and get to OT in the playoffs. Hopefully he can become a more consistent passer and cut down on the TOs in years 3.
  20. You're right in the House. Senate was a straight party line vote. In HoR, 38 or so Ds (including Dennis Kucinich) voted against and 1 R (Anh Cao) voted for.
  21. Look at the ACA. Ds had control of everything. All Ds voted for it, all Rs against it. They could have done whatever they wanted. Yet, they did what they did.
  22. BINGO. In other words, they are like the boomers in the 60s/70s. Make love not War. Never trust anyone over 30. Anything a Man can do a Woman can do better. etc.
  23. Most of the ones I know left because of the snow.
  24. Excuse me, I resemble that remark. As did a lot of my friends at the time.
