Thomas Sowell - Quote of the Day
reddogblitz replied to dubs's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Thinking that all black people must think the same way is racist. That's the same as saying all black people like watermelon and are good dancers. -
Why would she want to work for the system that systemically discriminates against blacks and minorities anyway?

if this ok and doesn't spread COVID, does that mean we can start going to outdoor football games and concerts?

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
reddogblitz replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Two points about protests not causing COVID. 1. They had huge protests in places like Dallas and Houston too. Oregon, protest central, is one of the hard hit states as is CA. Seattle's daily new cases was flat at approximately 180 from April 20 to June 1. Since then it has climbed to 549. When I see protest pictures I sometimes count mask vs no mask it's usually 60% masks. Of course this is contributing. 2. I believe the protests have contributed in another way. After watching these large protests with people packed in yelling and being praised for it, many people are saying fug it. Must not be as bad as they say, so let's party. Also TX and FL opened before May 1. Even a pandemic has to be political these days. It IS an election year after all. -

51st State? DC Statehood Is Happening!
reddogblitz replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
D C state hood has been a hot topic for decades. Why now all of the sudden, the D's jump up and pass it? it's yet another round of political gamesmanship. when it doesn't pass in the Senate D's can say Trump and Rs don't want black people to vote. -
Kind of what I was thinking. Certainly doesn't look like 6:30 in the morning. There is no coverage of it anywhere but here. You would think it would be a big story. this looks like what the SPD was doing a couple of weeks ago.

CHAZ Seattle Observations

Another installment of those that don't study history are doomed to repeat it. In today's Seattle Times, an editorial titled "Keep Protesting But End CHOP", there was an interesting quote. Response time in the area has tripled since the police station closed. CHOP wants to turn the police station into a community center. There are 2 community centers within a mile of the police station. -
Uncle Joe voted for it.

As I recall from the 2016 debates she is quite the war hawk. Makes perfect sense she would be for Uncle Joe.

FDR made a speech at the unveiling of a statue of Robert E. Lee on Dallas on 1936. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2017/09/06/flashback-fdr-unveiled-robert-e-lee-statue-without-controversy-in-1936/ As someone who was born and raised in Dallas and observed the statue up close, I can report that Robert's horse was annotomically correct. The statue was removed in 2017 after going through the proper channels. -

Local Seattle Times columnist pretty much nails it here IMHO. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/the-irony-of-the-no-cop-chop-it-showed-how-much-we-still-need-the-police-after-all/tweets In best BMam voice, read the whole thing. -
Who hired him AND brought him back for a 3rd season? McDermott is the head coach. Buck stops with him. He is responsible for the whole team including the offense.

Trump WAS impeached a long time ago. With the way things have moved since, it certainly feels like a long time ago. I think Maxine was on on that. -
I posted something about this last week. THIS takes the cake. They could have found out in 2 minutes with an internet search like I did. I guess no one pushed it to them on Twitter or FakeBook.

That ain't no lie. I remember when this went down last time in 2016 I think it was. I went to a couple of games and there was some tension around the National Anthem when it was played. Some kneeled and there were some hard feelings. It was like a loyalty test. If you stand, you hate black people and think it's OK for them to be killed by cops. If you kneel, you hate America. The story became which players were kneeling and which weren't. Then the Stealers (with a black coach) decided to stay in locker room. Except one guy was an Iraq veteran so he came out. What cluster F#CK. The whole meaning was lost and it became a circus. I expect the same this year. If I get to go to a game this year and this is going on which it likely will be I will do as I did then. Refuse to participate. When it got close to the National Anthem I walked outside the stadium and listened to some rock 'n roll on my iPod. When it was over I came back in to watch the game which is why I came in the first place. The only thing that will come out all of this is football players will be able to kneel during National Anthem.

GOP can’t win elections without cheating
reddogblitz replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Thanks for the kind words! I know many here consider me a lefty. But in reality I like to view each issue as a one off. Weigh both sides. I do believe in some lefty stuff like I no longer believe in trickle down economics. I supported Yang cuz a least he was talking about automation and it's impact on jobs while most people in office have no clue about it. I don't like Trump. I also believe in some righty things like personal responsibility. I have voted for Ds, Rs, and Independents and will continue to do so. The think I like the least is the BS hypocritical views of people who are either blue or red with no wiggle room and lap up whatever their team says and bad mouths anything the other team does. So like here, I hear Rs are keeping black people from voting in Kentucky. So I looked it up. Turns out not to be completely like they said. It's amazing how often it turns up that what one side is trumpeting is maybe 1/2 true at best. I'm not on the blue team. I'm not on the red team. I'm on the American team. And I really like your posts. Keep up the good work -
