  1. I didn't know it either...never heard him mention it on any of the MNF telecasts or on ESPN Radio. I had to google it. Strange.
  2. Question for admittance: What does "Belinda" mean?
  3. W/DirecTV, our local CBS station has gone dark because of carriage/money disputes. I remember a time when DirecTV seemed like the only carrier that wouldn't lose stations because of these money squabbles. With another rate hike on the horizon, looks like it's time to get rid of DTV...after the season, of course.
  4. Keep them grey or make them blue; not a huge fan of the white facemasks on the white helmets.
  5. Yup, nine point lead in the fourth quarter pissed away...the recently departed Jake Scott with two INTs.
  6. 1975 started out so promising, 4-0...then inconsistency settled in and the Bills finished an underwhelming 8-6.
  7. Good gawd, it doesn't matter. Sheesh!
  8. Bills-Saints 1989 entire game:
  9. I actually found this video oddly entertaining.
  10. It's not about the color, the NFL just wants players in the same helmet all season, for "safety" purposes. This was not the case in 1994 when, during the NFL's 75th anniversary, the Bills stayed with the red helmet with the white standing buffalo. They were just lazy...they could have gone with the white helmet then but chose not to.
  11. Chargers will be in monotone all dark blue, so the Bills will be in white, possibly throwbacks.
  12. Gave up my 1998 Avalon, with 148k miles, a year ago. Hated to do it; just needed too much work to justify putting $2k into it.
  13. In no particular order: Robb Riddick Roland Hooks Kenny Davis Frank Reich James Harris
  14. Rickles, Carlin, Rodney, Seinfeld
  15. The Orioles had a Colorectal Cancer Alliance fundraiser in honor of colorectal cancer survivor, Trey Mancini. The summer-long campaign netted $80,000, a nice figure for a great cause. https://www.mlb.com/orioles/news/featured/orioles-raise-more-than-80-000-through-f16ht-t-shirt-sales Bills fans have raised over $300,000 in 72 hours. Hats off to the greatest fans, in any sport, in the country.
  16. Thanks so much for this...I've seen the NFL Films version of this, with Van on the call, but never the NBC feed. I was there and we were in the tunnel ready to leave when Hooks made the first catch...we saw the TD and the roar of the crowd brought everyone out of the concourse and guys running out of the bathroom, a few with their pants down around their ankles I couldn't recognize the announcers' voices, but I think it was Mike Haffner and Dave Rowe. May have to go through the entire game to find out.
  17. @Just Jack posts this clip every opening day.
  18. His last day in studio was October 29th and his final show will air on Christmas Night.
  19. Wow, didn't know it went to a monthly.
  20. I gave up my subscription several years ago...the magazine was getting thinner by the week, the stories were dated and the cover photos, once the crown jewel of SI, were starting to look like the National Enquirer. All print media, newspapers, magazines, journals, etc. are going the way of the square wheel. I hate to see it, but it's just the way technology has evolved, or devolved, depending how you look at it.
  21. Yeah, that's really Pegula's style...
  22. Umm, yes. I have for the last 20 years. DTV use to be a fine company until ATT took over. I've been fortunate in that, in these 20 years, I've annually received ST at a reduced cost or free. I could be wrong, which is entirely possible, but I thought I read recently that the NFL can sell, or maintain, the streaming rights to ST starting in 2021.
  23. NFL/ATT will also enlist the help of the beer barons here. A main source of their revenue, bars, is hurting now and without the limited NFL/ATT "exclusive agreement," bars will further suffer. Bars have made Sunday afternoons relevant if you want to see your team's games. What was usually the slowest time of the week, bars have now become an integral conduit to your team's Sunday afternoon games...and what item do bars like to sell most? Not chicken wings but the high profit margin associated with alcohol, most notably beer. I have a friend who was very involved in this at one time; it was the beer barons that screamed to the NFL not to "open up" Sunday afternoon games to regular cable but keep it on a system that many folks can't/won't get (DTV). And when the NFL's big sponsors, here Big Beer, talk, the NFL listens.
