This right on. i always knew kelly was going to come up with something, or in the case of the comeback, reich. watched that game at casa di pizza and most people were swearing and talking about next year, but i really believed they'd win. completely irrational. now i really believe they'll lose. not totally irrational, but it can be. i bet twenty bucks on the chiefs game with my buddy and he was surrendering at halftime. i kept telling him he wasn't out of it. last week was nice. do that a few more times and maybe the doom will wash away from my mind.

wow, this is right up there in the 'stupid topic' category.

me sitting in my living room at one in the morning. wife and child sleeping peacefully until probably three minutes into the game. beer, corn chips, and wild game pate. and anything else i can snag from the 7-11 downstairs during commercials. neighbors have been trained to not be alarmed by howls in the night. let's get this season started right!

i remember that game because i went to watch it at a strip club in fort erie and ended up half nekkid on stage with performer named 'strawberry fields'. she tore the buttons off my shirt and pants. i was wearing long johns. pretty sure she was high as a kite since the joint turned on all the lights and took her off the stage, not me. combo that with good food, giant tv, legal beer (i was 19), and a bills romp and you have yourself one hell of a day.

he played nose like an offensive guard. battled his guy, seemed oblivious to ball carrier. has a better shot as o-lineman in my opinion.

tim vogler, now there was a quality backup. always played well when he had a shot. yearn for the days of hull, ritcher, devlin (for a bit), wolford, ballard, etc...

will grant - might have the record most holds in a game when he came back and played with the replacements. willie totten was qb.

i'm happy with dareus, but gabbert will be a top ten nfl quarterback. not this year and maybe not next year, but he has the stuff. strong, accurate, and tough. one of us will be wrong and i doubt it's me. saying "he sucks" shows little football sense.

i don't quite get how the bills were supposed to address the shite D and OL in the same draft. they allegedly went after clabo and didn't get him. which OLineman did we miss? the green bay kid who went late in the 1st round? can't fix this mess in one or two drafts. nix is doing fine.

this should have all been in-house. fred jackson is wrong in this situation. his position on the depth chart should be between him and the coaches. and the K isn't great, but it was quite a windfall for him a few years ago. either party can ask to renegotiate a K (i know everyone knows this), so i'm not down on him for that.

i was ten or so and i was insistent that the bills pick up earnest gray, a wide receiver for the new york giants. i had his football card, he'd had one great year, and i had heard of him.

Bell was really only abused once last year (by jared allen), otherwise he went from a bit less than average to above average. with a healthy offseason, i expect him to be more like average to occasionally dominant this year. He did fine against the bears. Pears might get get it eventually. he's better than wrotto or howard, which isn't saying a great deal. he was okay against the bears.

above is a proper sarcastic/smart response to a really silly post. how are teams going to prep for the brad smith wrinkle to the offense? preseason is all they have to work with. throw some stuff out there, let them work on it. switch up. maybe never use him at all, less time they devote prepping for fitz.

i quit smoking using snus. same addiction, healthier, less obnoxious form. smokers now annoy the hell out of me because there is no escape from the smell. never realized how that shite carries. but we're talking buffalo. i smoked in the pool room at the old pink last time i was home. at the mohawk as well. lots of people smoke. it isn't that hard to have an open air pen someplace. i've never heard of anyone not going to the ralph because of smokers. heard from plenty who won't go because of drunk polacks.

there were a bunch of early eighties rbs that got hurt early. can remember billy sims, william andrews, and wilbert montgomery off the top of my head.

i just want to add that scouts can be snippy clique bitches. i've mentioned before that i scout baseball in taiwan, and the atmosphere ranges from professional and cool to monkeys throwing feces. depends on the time of the year mostly. scouting in any sport is an inexact science and the vagueness of it all leads to a bunch of insecure guys acting like they know more than everyone else. sources get inflated, news gets mangled, rumors become truth, etc... i think 'audibles' is interesting sometimes, but their 'sources' really don't like nix. i remember him being referred to as a 'joke' when he was hired. they probably ask the same five or six guys for opinions and they all have axes to grind. the best scouts i know in baseball wouldn't give out little snippets like that. they don't need to make other people think they're clever or rip on fellow scouts. bad scouts out themselves eventually. and if you are a good scout, you want lots of bad scouts around. makes your job easier. you would never rip on them. at most, you might sing their praises if anyone asks. i'm betting nix makes this guy look silly over the next couple years, but there is no accountability since he remains anonymous.
