I mean, sure I get that argument. But the year they drafted Fields they were a playoff team with Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles at QB. He has won 10 games as a starter in 3 years, 5 of which were this year. Tyson Bagent went 2-2 as a starter this year as an undrafted rookie out of division 2

Whats there to get? They traded for a backup that recently was a 1st round pick. For essentially a 4th round pick. If they liked him coming out, there like him better than a QB option in the draft in the 4th round

Fields is awful. He has some great highlight runs and a few decent games throwing the ball but after 3 years, he is generating no interest on the trade market. Meanwhile guys like Riddler, Howell and Drew lock are getting traction and traded. If he had some untapped potential, someone would be offering a 3 or 4 and he would already be out of Chicago Rodgers wouldnt allow that for one, and two the Jets are dumping their own first round bust this year. Fields is going to get traded for a conditional 6th and the media will act shocked
