While Knox has been unpredictable this season, it’s important to note that our average at best OL has endured many missed games due to injury, which has forced the Tight End to chip block at least, if not stay blocking at the LOS. This has more to do with a noticeable drop in offensive production and shines an even brighter spotlight on the inconsistencies of Davis and McKenzie. Dawson hasn’t really helped either when he does break from the line -with multiple drops. Thus, Cole & Smoke have been plucked from graveyard shift stock boys at Topps Friendly Markets to try to find the fountain of youth now. We’ve already blown 3 great seasons as a top tier team. The rest of the Conference is catching up. So it’s imperative the Bills perform consistently going forward.

Regardless of where/when the final 3 games are played, personally, I’m convinced we’ll win 2 of the 3 -Chi & NE*. It’s the Cincy game for all the AFC marbles! I have no clue about that outcome.🤷‍♂️

He has evolved well! He led all college football in catches when we Drafted him, but he’s one of those receivers who needed at least 3 seasons to figure things out.

I’ve said this in other threads, but if we’re being completely honest, given the many games missed by injured players, we’re a .500 ball club with an MVP who plays QB. IF, and this is a huge and very unlikely IF, we win the Super Bowl, the MVP Trophy -like in the NHL- needs to be renamed the Josh Allen Award.

I wonder/fear Beane & staff have been scared off Drafting OL early, given Ford being a major disappointment. Imo, the OL is the most difficult position to Draft as there’s no known path for personal success after they turn Pro. For a large part, college ‘can’t miss’ OL flounder in the pros. I can’t explain why. At least signing a growing, capable one after their rookie contract expires (usually no more than 4 years) you have pro play on video and can chart growth at this level. We lost a great one to this method that Beane openly rues as one of his biggest gaffes. That we Have to have our TEs chip or even stay on the line to block every play negatively impacts their game as potential receivers. I’ll stop just short of agreeing with Sully that this years’ team isn’t good enough to win a Super Bowl, but imo, with major players injured throughout the season, we’re a .500 team with a true MVP who plays at QB.
