  1. I remember taking flak from the Brohm fans when I mentioned that I thought it was not possible that Russ Brandon had outsmarted all the other GMs, including the best ones in the league, when he signed Brohm off GB's practice squad. My logic was that a 2nd round QB pick who gets waived before his 2nd season & not claimed and then had spent the season on a practice squad with nobody else interested, was not some genius signing by Russ Brandon & our management team. They said things like Buddy Nix was the one behind the Brohm signing (like that was any better than Russ Brandon), that Brohm was projected as the #1 pick before his last year in college, and "I saw him play in college".
  2. Get a job with the IRS & your paycheck will be my loan to you. Or, you do retirement right and don't need any side job.
  3. If you're at poverty level, you don't pay SS taxes. If you're middle class, you're likely being taxed on 85% of your SS income. I've never been taxed at less than 85% of my SS income. Your Social Security benefits could be taxable, depending on your situation. According to the IRS, the best way to see if you’ll owe taxes on your Social Security income is to take one-half of your Social Security benefits and add that amount to all your other income. This includes tax-exempt interest. This number is known as your combined income, and this is how it’s calculated: Combined Income = Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) + Nontaxable Interest + 1/2 of Social Security benefits If your combined income is above a certain limit (the IRS calls this limit the base amount), you will need to pay at least some tax. The limit for 2023 and 2024 is $25,000 if you are a single filer, head of household or qualifying widow or widower with a dependent child. The 2023 and 2024 limit for joint filers is $32,000. However, if you’re married and file separately, you’ll likely have to pay taxes on your Social Security income. How to Calculate Your Social Security Income Taxes If your Social Security income is taxable, the amount you pay will depend on your total combined retirement income. However, you will never pay taxes on more than 85% of your Social Security income, though the income brackets will vary by filing status. If you file your income tax return as an individual with a total income that’s less than $25,000, you won’t have to pay taxes on your Social Security benefits. Single filers with a combined income of $25,000 to $34,000 must pay income taxes on up to 50% of their Social Security benefits. If your combined income is more than $34,000, you will pay taxes on up to 85% of your Social Security benefits. For married couples filing a joint return, you will pay taxes on up to 50% of your Social Security income if you have a combined income of $32,000 to $44,000. If you have a combined income of more than $44,000, you can expect to pay taxes on up to 85% of your Social Security payments.
  4. https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/could-couldnt-care-less Could vs. Couldn't We define could care less and couldn’t care less on the same page, with the single definition “used to indicate that one is not at all concerned about or interested in something.” We do not put these seemingly disparate idioms on the same page in order to save space, or so that we might cause you pain. We do it because one is simply a variant of the other, and they are used in a synonymous manner.
  5. Gary Marangi was the worst. Set an NFL record for QB futility in 1976 with a 35.3 completion % that most likely will never be broken. He replaced Joe Ferguson the 2nd half of the season after Fergy had a season ending injury and after 1976 never played another down. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MaraGa00.htm
  6. Reminds me of the days of Buddy Nix. Diminishes Marshawn Lynch's trade value before having to trade him. A few years late, trashes Fitzpatrick & backs himself into a corner that forces him to draft a QB & then drafts EJ Manuel.
  7. Good put me on ignore I could care less that you will no longer reply with ignorance. Now I'm not calling you ignorant, just your posts. That's the game you're playing.
  8. At current interest rates, the difference is negligible on paying extra on your salary and getting a refund, especially with only 12 months of payments in before cashing out. The Christmas Club rates at my bank are 0.5% The best choice is based on lifestyle. I want Super Bowl money & don't have the discipline to put together a Super Bowl fund all year, so I let the government hold my Super Bowl fund until the game. Now with no Super Bowl, I have a few extra thousand to spend recklessly.
  9. You're making a fool of yourself. You insult me because I claimed a geographical advantage in knowing what's going on with NYC sports teams, then claim I'm the one calling you names. Here's some advice, stop digging that hole you're in.
  10. Geographically, I have an advantage in obtaining knowledge of NY teams. That's just the facts that you refuse to acknowledge. If you are living in the NYC area, I'll admit you have better sources, but if you don't live with reach of the NYC media, maybe you're the blowhard.
  11. No. The feds tax SS and I withhold 25%.
  12. I am better informed & hardly spoonfed. The more information one has, the better to come to an informed conclusion. You'll see I was right when Wilson becomes the next EJ Manuel.
  13. I know what I can tell you. I listen to the NYC sports radio stations & have a much better picture on Wilson's lack of development than you have. He got benched due to lousy play. If his attitude improved, then why did he want to sit out the end of this season? The guy on the bench can be well like when he's not screwing up things on the field. Big deal, he stopped blaming others this year. Hackett sucks, but so does Wilson. A perfect storm of bad QB/bad OC.
  14. Wilson is a bust. He was overdrafted to begin with and the staff didn't have much to work with. He came with an attitude & alienated a lot of the players in the locker room by the middle of his 2nd season. It wasn't the coaching staff that messed up Wilson. In Bills terms he's the 2nd coming of EJ Manuel, only Manuel never copped an attitude that lost the locker room. . Wilson never won a playoff game or even got his team into one. Mayfield won a playoff game with Cleveland. The Jets did Wilson like the bust he is.
  15. I'm retired & have a very simple return. All I have is interest, pension & Social Security. My annual interest is on my December bank statement that I get at the beginning of January, my Social Security 1099 comes in the middle of January & my pension 1099 is available either by mail or on-line by the Saturday before the 1st day the IRS accepts filings. I also use the standard deduction, so I don't have to dig for any expenses.
  16. He had plenty of time to sign autographs. He has to hold the NFL record for most consecutive games inactive while still on the main roster.
  17. If the Ravens don't want him teams like Kansas City, Miami, Cleveland, & Cincinnati will want him just to name a few teams that don't care what a player does off the field.
  18. Damar was closer to the Victor Allotey award than comeback player of the year.
  19. I get a decent refund because I want extra money in late January/early February in case the Bills make it to the Super Bowl.
  20. Come On Man! Here's the real story. Lamar won it in 2019 & his stats towered over Josh on paper. Lamar 2019: 66.1% comp %, 36 TDs 9INTs, QB rating 83.0, 1206 rushing yards, 7 TDs. Josh 2019 58.8 comp %, 20 TDs, 9 INTs, QB rating 49.4, 510 rushing yards, 9 TDs

  22. I was checking this year's prices. They were $10-11,000 the week of the championship games, early this week they were down to around $8,000 get in price. Here's the current lowest price ticket on NFL on Location. Their 15% fee is lower than a lot of others, so when you see a low price before fees the fees could be as high as 25-30% Order Details SUPER BOWL LVIII FEBRUARY 11, 2024ALLEGIANT STADIUM SEATS AVAILABLE: 6 - 23 * YOUR SEATS ARE GUARANTEED TO BE TOGETHER SECTION: 345 ROW: 13 QUANTITY: 1 TICKET PRICE: $6,929.00 SERVICE FEE: $1,247.22 SHIPPING: -- DELIVERY METHOD: MOBILE DELIVERY SUBTOTAL: $8,176.22 * KICKOFF CLUB HOSPITALITY AT SUPER BOWL LVIII Orders Summary TICKETS $6,929.00 SERVICE FEE $1,247.22 SHIPPING -- SUBTOTAL $8,176.22
  23. I've been to 6. The 4 Bills ones in the 90s, SBXLVIII & SB50. 1st one I went with the Disney package. I got a cheap flight to Orlando, got a rental car, stayed Thurs night & Monday night in Orlando & Fri-Monday morning at the Bill-Mar hotel in Treasure Island. 2nd one my friend Petrino (old poster here) won the lottery and I got a ticket at face value. I got the flight & motel through Travel USA & had to fly out of Buffalo. 3rd one Petrino won his 2nd straight lottery, we got a super saver flight to LA, split motel, & rental car prices & brought the whole thing in for about $750 each, 4th one we went with Travel USA/Santos Tours out of Buffalo. 5th one I went to was XLVIII at Met-Life. The ticket prices were the lowest in years because the corporate people didn't want to sit outside in February in NJ. I drove down the day of the game, parked at the Stub Hub parking, shuttle bussed to the game & back, and had a motel room in Ramsey NJ. Unfortunately, when I got back to the motel, I found out a snow storm was coming. I woke up at 4, showered & was out of there by 4:30. I was home in about 2 hours & went back to bed. 6th one was SB50 in Santa Clara. I have relatives in the Bay area & promised I'd go to the game with my nephew. He drove to Freemont, we took a bus to the game & back to Freemont & then I stayed at his house when we got back.
  24. Howell really didn't show much promise. In fact, he was benched at the end of the season, but then Jacoby Brissett got injured and they had to send Howell back out there when they had already given up on him.
