  1. Considering how many coaching & QB changes teams make in 5 years or more, the stat Matt uses is one of the dumbest things I've heard. Currently there are only 4 of these QB/HC combos in the league, 5 if you count the years Love was on the bench at GB. KC & LA won the SB in their QBs 1st 3 seasons, the others haven't. The odds of a starting QB/HC being together that long are so low-only 12.5% of the league has a combo that have been together 5 seasons or more before this season starts. Considering the natural odds of winning the Super Bowl are 1 in 32, this stat is beyond meaningless. Matt Parrino ought to be ashamed. Edit: I mentioned LAR. I fixed the stats when I realized Stafford/McVay have had only 4 seasons, but didn't fix the next sentence. So of the 4 QB/HC combos, only Mahomes/Reid have won a SB together.
  2. Too bad Curb Your Enthusiasm ended. They could have done a whole episode at the wedding.
  3. There's been worse, twice by the same team, just not within 50 picks of each other. In 2012 Washington traded 2012 1st & 2nd round picks, along with their 2013 & 2014 1st rounders to pick RGIII at pick 2, then drafted Cousins with pick 102 in the 4th round. In 1994 Washington drafted Shuler at pick 3 of the 1st round & then in the 7th took Frerotte with pick 197. Both times the 1st rounder busted & the other guy eventually became the team's starter.
  4. Shawne Merriman all over again.
  5. I'd rather have neither Fields nor Purdy at any of their salaries. You might as well just draft a QB & pay the rookie a lot less. I'd rather have Shedeur than either one of these overpaid JAGs.
  6. Biggest mistake since the Giants re-signed Daniel Jones.
  7. They shouldn't wait 2 more years to meet. Hold a special committee meeting this year. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45115659/pete-rose-shoeless-joe-jackson-players-reinstated-mlb Rose and Jackson's candidacies presumably will be decided by the Hall's 16-member Classic Baseball Era Committee, which considers players whose careers ended more than 15 years ago. The committee isn't scheduled to meet again until December 2027. Rose and Jackson would need 12 of 16 votes to win induction.
  8. He was still with Carolina through the 2017 draft:
  9. Hyde & Poyer were signed before Beane came to Buffalo.
  10. Why didn't the guy sue when there were 9 mistakes made in 2018 before Josh Rosen was drafted?
  11. Here's a good Felser story. When we were at the Buffalo airport returning from Super Bowl XXVIII Petrino & I saw Larry Felser at the luggage retrieval area. We go over & say hello and then a group of women not far from his age join the people waiting for their luggage and got all of Larry's attention.
  12. He did, in the 7th round. You have to stick around for the entire draft.
  13. He can get some back if he's Mr. Irrelevant. For example American Express "I thought I'd go #1 before the draft, but instead I became Mr. Irrelevant. But, when I walk into a store with this card, I'm Mr. Relevant again."
  14. Rob Johnson (everyone but the Bills 3 years later)
  15. The race blaming for his fall is all over the internet-mostly said by people who don't watch sports & are always looking to stir things up on a topic they know nothing about. It's like the people who see a story on the news that has nothing to do with their agenda, but condemn the person who the story is about to make what is usually a ridiculous point. They do this on all sorts of topics they are ignorant of.
  16. Very similar to the 1978 NFL draft. People have bought into Warren Moon's story for decades that nobody in the NFL would play him at QB because of his race, somehow forgetting the facts that Moon signed with the CFL BEFORE the NFL draft (the real reason he went undrafted) & that Doug Williams, the 1st QB selected in the 1978 draft, was a 1st round pick the same year.
  17. Must be a COVID thing that I missed because when I saw he played 4 years already, I thought he was done with college ball.
  18. He's already used up all his college eligibility. Do you want to see college veterans who eventually retire from playing a decade or 2 of college ball? 😄
  19. Unfortunately, most of the younger fans won't appreciate how this is one of the best comedic posts ever.
  20. Mel has aged about 10 years each round Shedeur went undrafted. If he goes undrafted, Mel will look like this by the end of the draft:
  21. Cleveland has 1 more 3rd round pick & Las Vegas has 2 back to back comp picks. Shedeur doesn't make it out of the 3rd round.
  22. Chris Berman used to tip the Bills pick on the ESPN broadcast before the Bills turned in the card. He'd say a "cab driver" told him. The best one was when the guys on the broadcast were getting ready for the Bills pick & Berman says "how about John Fina?" a guy who was so far off Mel Kiper's radar that he didn't even get a writeup in Kiper's draft report.
  23. Willis was touted as a 1st round pick. He was even said to be "The next Josh Allen" even though he's about half the size😄. From the middle of the 1st, the guys on ESPN kept mentioning him & trying to guess where he'd go. The Shedeur Sanders hype is very similar to Willis regardless of their differences on the field.
  24. Nope. Taiwan Jones (no relation to the former Bills player), played linebacker at Michigan State before spending two seasons with the New York Jets (2015-16).
