  1. Paraphrasing the line about Communism; The Scheme Cannot Fail, It Can Only Be Failed
  2. Beane is far too much of a gentleman to do something as unseemly as gaming the cap. Very unprocess like!
  3. Agreed. We're never going to know what Allen is capable of until they fix the OL. Can you imagine Brady playing behind this hot garbage?
  4. you gotta go to a lot of years of journalism school to come up with those kinds of trenchant observations
  5. OTOH, the pats have a solid OL, good running game, and a serviceable QB who may have regressed this year at least in part because of the lack of an OC. Adding a good WR could open things up there. Adding a WR is a lot easier than fixing a whole OL, which is what the Bills are faced with
  6. Yeah Bills go from a cakewalk in AFCE to being no better than 50/50 to repeat If Rogers goes to NYJ, and Brady to Miami, the Bills are going to have to be better than they were this year. Tighter in all phases of the game
  7. Having an actual OC is going to help you guys a ton. Maybe a little more talent to catch the ball, and Pats will bounce back. I think it's a legit 4 way race in the AFCE next year. Bills should still be the favorite, but not by nearly as much as this year
  8. Wind sprints for everyone!
  9. I hope Miami does get Brady. That'll ruin Tua, create locker room drama, and they aren't going to win any more games with Brady. Tua was pretty good this year!
  10. Gameplan against the 2022/3 Bengals with Joe Burrow and 4 guys who can catch the ball: Play 15 yards off LoS, give up a first down every play. Eventually, WRs get tired, THEN WE STRIKE!!!
  11. Agreed 100%. I'm pretty sure Bruce, Andre, Thurmon, Darryl, and Jim in their prime wouldnt have helped this team
  12. I mean, it's not like homefield made any difference. They can get whooped at KC or Cincy or Jax just as well as in OP The team was flat, I believe the term du jour is gassed. There's some valid reasons for it, but fact is Sunday's game looked like a classic run for the bus situation. I can't call out a single player that played well.
  13. OL has to be the focus. We hardly know what we have in any of the skill positions because every play is under desperate conditions because of the terrible OL
  14. OP is dumb obv, but his larger point isn't too far off. Dawkins is more celebrity/player than road grading OL. He's not been the same since he had covid and it just seems like his side of the line collapses immediately play after play. No wonder Allen regressed as the year went on, he's running for his life every play
  15. yeah especially when they line up 15 yards behind Josh and are getting hit 5 yards behind the line because of our turnstile OL
  16. are we still running a "bombs away!" offensive scheme? Will Borkley get more than 8 carries a game? Will Beane revisit his stubborn refusal to invest in the OL? If you answer yes to any of those questions than the answer is no, why bother? Chances are Beane drafts another can't miss prospect at DL. Probably undersized and high motor, if I had to guess
  17. He would have a big play or two, then disappear for games at a time. That role is adequately filled by Phillips. Go get a bigger guy who can hold his spot and maybe even collapse the pocket occasionally
  18. He's not the greatest OC but did OK at Alabama this year given their unusual lack of talent at WR. I'm not happy he's at NE, i expect he'll get the most out of Macorkle
  19. Come on that's not fair. It takes a genius to have CBs be at least 10 yards away from all eligible receivers at all times.
  20. well, he's not gassed
  21. We're getting a piss poor ROI on all the investment on D. We'll be digging out from that hole for years, so I agree, i'd rather see us become an offensive juggernaut with a crummy D than a hobbled offense with a crummy D
  22. Agreed. If Tua plays, even brain bruised Tua, Miami wins that game by at least 10 The OL was clearly exhausted from getting out of the way of those mean cincy DL all day
  23. Lol, it's ok to be miserable today, while still enjoying being a fan of the Buffalo Bills It's also OK (and probably the rational take) to realize that 13 seconds might be the zenith for the current iteration of this team. half of the AFC got better while we stood still. I'm not sure this regime has a plan to get better than they are right now, which is strong regular season team, early playoff exit. Sort of like the Dolphins during our glory era.
  24. They looked pretty bad last week and were lucky to draw the Dolphins. Homefield used to mean watching visiting teams struggle in the snow. Deeply ironic that we've now built a team that requires perfect weather conditions to perform
  25. I realize you can't replace the entire OL in one offseason. Let's say we can keep 2 guys, who are they? Is Dorkins worth keeping?
