My observations Elston stepping up in Poyer's absence Wright getting his hands on the ball, I guess the week of practice and preparation was needed for him to step up Khari Lee with some really good blocks in the run game, he sealed off the LB in Shady's TD (the other was Ducasse on a safety). In one play he stood up and maintained the block against Bruce Irvin, who's a tough guy to block. Logan Thomas and O'Leary better get better at blocking because they have a new competitor at the position. WRs were very important today, Zay Jones with some huge catches early on. the one for a first down as he was being hit by the LB was nice to see. Tate, Matthews and Holmes with some big 1st down convertions. All the credit should go to the coaching staff, they have this team ready and focused. I would like more urgency after a turnover, though.

I thanked the Oakland kicker in the chat room when he went for the touchback. If I'm not mistaken we had this same situation against the Jets and Hauscha kicked it near the goal line giving the team great field position. Big mistake by Del Rio, IMO.

He needs to stop that for his own sake. Overall he had a great game all things considered, I gave him a game ball.

I think we found a blocking TE in Lee, had a nice blocks against tough guys like Irvin and he sealed off his man on Shady's TD. He's a better blocker than either O'Leary and Thomas.

One of my favorite plays from Sunday's game by one of the steadiest players on defense. Leonard Johnson has been a high energy player, though he needs to play smarter and avoid late hits like the one that extended a Bucs drive. Perfect tackle on Humphries.

I still think against the Bucs something failed while communicating the plays or the Bucs exploited something they saw in the defense. JW was barking at the line a lot, maybe changing the plays. When you're out of position you look slow, you miss tackles and get beat, that happened a lot last Sunday. We need to correct that, because Carr can pick us apart with his arm and weapons.

Why wouldn't they repect us if we had them in the ropes the last time we played them. That game still pisses me off. Stopping Carr won't be easy but I think we can beat the Raiders at home.
