  1. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/8/30/...line-pittsburgh Read this fan report about how the line did against the Steelers, note #98 is Casey Hampton. I think he's a solid acquisition, he's not spectacular but he knows blocking angles and for being a guy sided by two rookies I'd say he's doing a good job, hopefully there can keep improving.
  2. If I'm AVP I call a lot of early bubble screens or regular screens to the left to so they think twice about sending everything they got at him. But before that, first play on offense, bomb away for either TO or Lee.
  3. Also: Prediction V: Comeback years for LaDainian Tomlinson, Brian Urlacher, Kurt Warner jokes, Roy Williams, the "Da Bears" guys, the Seahawks, the Chaz Cinco/Carson Palmer hookup, Dom Capers, Ryan Grant, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and kids Karl Malone had out of wedlock. Fall-off years for the Dolphins and Falcons, Brian Westbrook, DirecTV ads, Emmitt Smith quote pages, the Wildcat offense, NFL players getting into trouble, dogfighting rings, Donovan McNabb and Steve Smith inexplicably punching out teammates. Breakout years for Aaron Rodgers jerseys, running backs named "Knowshon," tight ends named "Jermichael," Mike Lombardi, Rex Ryan, the Redskins' defense, giant video screens that look like UFOs and interfere with games, Detroit's Kevin Smith and "Drew Brees is a superduperstar" conversations.
  4. "It’s a play we always work on,” said Thomas. “I run toward the sideline and Andre Reed cuts across the middle. It’s like a pick play. We wiped two of their guys out, that’s why I was so wide open.” As simle as that.
  5. Let us pray the ref isn't Walt Coleman then.
  6. Pittsburgh fans are praying he clears waivers but they feel he will be picked up quickly by another team.
  7. I like it TheChimp, it sounds great.
  8. So, you're spinning this in a positive light??? Not allowed here, sorry.
  9. Yep, Jones has a great motor (no, he's not white), he's alwyas moving and fighting the blocks. Hopefully he eligible for the PS because I don't think he'll make the roster.
  10. Maybe he could put a little more intensity when he's picking up the blitz or maybe he is intense only when the ball is in his hands.
  11. Good call Jimmy, those long strides reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it. Very similar to Norwood, yep.
  12. I don't know if this kid will have a great impact or big stats because he plays for the Lions, but keep an eye on Aaron Brown RB. The guy is electric!
  13. Rumors at first was that he was being moved to RT but as their TC wore on he was just being demoted to second string. The guy has talent, we seemingly have good relationship with Polian even if Marv isn't here anymore and he plays in a no huddle offense. I think it makes sense to at least ask the Colts what's the situation with him.
  14. Issues might be the correct answer, I read some articles and the coaches weren't happy with his consistency, but didn't expand what that inconsistency was all about. All articles were very vague about it. But the talent is definitely there.
  15. The Colts did it this year. They benched Ugoh for some Charlie Jonhson. That is why I started a thread about inquiring about Ugoh for possible trade.
  16. Ted Almighty cut????? noooooo!!!
  17. And it showed on the extra point. Great kicking form and with soccerish (is that a word) style. Oh, and the kick-off was high and deep, so the Bengals having a good emergency option is great for them. The guy must be an idiot for changing his name or demanding extra attention but he did help his team last night, and I don't have a problem with that.
  18. As you say, nobody knows where the differences are between both parties. But, history is on our side regarding the Bills signing first round picks. Unfortunately for us fans, this FO has been there before with picks related to where Maybin was drafted and up to this day no holdouts ocurred because the money paid to said rookies was the correct figure according to the rookie slotting. The numbers are there for everyone to see, so the offer the Bills made doesn't have to be a "good" offer but a fair one according for what Orakpo, Moreno and Raji got out of their deals. I have no reason to believe the Bills are lowballing him when rookies from previous years were signed for fair market value. Even McKelvin got more contract money than the pick before him but with less guaranteed money. Team Maybin is giving us reasons that because Crabtree isn't signed they can't sign right now. But knowing that Crabtree is asking crazy money they want some piece of the action, all of this playing the victim card. What if the 49ers tell Crabtree to !@#$-off, when and how is this going to end?
  19. I didn't liked Orakpo because he was a Longhorn. I didn't want to draft Maybin, because other than raw speed, he is too green to contribute right away. I would have drafted Oher but there were some concerns about his desire to be a football player or something to that effect. The pick for me at #11 was Everette Brown, because he was the guy with the best pass rushing skills and was perfect for this defense, so you can imagine my reaction when he was still available in the second round and we drafted yet another DB. I couldn't believe it, still can't.
  20. 1) Kelsay should be the odd man out, but will the coaches do this? Apparently they love him and his practice leadership. 2) Denney is a better football player than Kelsay. Excellent LDE back-up 3) Oh no, Schobel didn't look amazing in two pre-season games. Relax he'll be ready for the season. I also saw Stroud looking ordinary on both games. These two guys will turn it up a notch when the season starts. 4) Bryan and Ellis should make the team.
  21. (Luisma still staring at your avatar, not reading the post)
  22. Oh, those Bills, such lowballers with 1st round picks. I would punch Maybin in the face..........................................................and run very, very fast afterwards.
  23. What bothers me is that those numbers could have been calculated even if Raji didn't sign today. The only thing that could stall the negotiation is number of years Maybin's party wants.
  24. But I still would take him and Hamdam over Losman.
  25. They played well a few snaps, and hopefully the can mantain that level of play for over a game and a season. But that is the problem, hope, we always hang on to it at the beginning of every season. We finally have some serious weapons on the outside with Trent entering that important third year for QBs and all we have to show for is a work in progress O-line. I really like Walker but I think his best position is at RT. Bell is a talented kid but I think the coaches are hurrying up his development (obviously Butler's injury didn't help) because they couldn't or wouldn't plan ahead properly. I think the no huddle offense will help mask some of the defficiencies we have up-front, until the rookies are settled in their positions and can work well with Hangartner. This thread wasn't started based on the last game, but that is how I feel about our tackles and I think there are some posibilities out there, at this time, to improve our team.
