  1. "Willing" to throw it past the line of scrimmage.
  2. The unfamiliar defense contributed to picks early. The picks contributed to fear for the rest of the game in both Trent and the coaches.
  3. 4 things can help him this week. 1. Reed 2. He learned from Monday 3. The coaches learned from Monday (this seems the least likely of the 4 given their stubborness) 4. The Chiefs defense is bad (biggest difference from last week)
  4. Stating that Jauron himself believes he is a "born loser" is getting a little personal.
  5. The one that calls a play action pass on 1st or 2nd down of their last set of downs Monday might be it.
  6. I gotta defend Dick here for a minute. He doesn't suck and he's not a born loser. As a man, by all you see and hear he is a terrific person. He's obviously very intelligent. He is also very loyal to a coaching style that does not appear to be a winning style in the NFL. For that he can be criticized. The Bills braintrust has to be coming to the conclusion that his approach does not produce playoff winning results. Hopefully they make a change before we endure another season of this team being middle of the pack.
  7. It should be painfully obvious that the combination of this head coach and this QB does not lead to throwing the ball down the field to anyone. Evans would be a star on many teams.
  8. Throwing long too risky. Throwing short has some risk also Throwing down the line of scrimmage has the least risk. Jauron can relax now.
  9. Trent's making $400K per year. He can easily settle into a backup role if that turns out to be best.
  10. That's fine. As long as we drop our expectations for playoffs this year and admit we're still "rebuilding" you can tolerate his ups and downs. What to do about a head coach is more pressing.
  11. Yes, and he should find employment somewhere other than the NFL.
  12. Can you imagine Vick and Dick on the same team? Vick would give Dick heart failure the minute he left the pocket. Just listening to the two of them trying to have a conversation would be comical.
  13. Our country is full of smart under-achievers. Dick should consider opening a private accounting practice. He'd be perfect for that.
  14. On Monday I belive so. Twice I saw his lips open (they are usually closed) and I did see him argue with an official and it almost looked like he was upset. However, he did quickly return to a look of complete composure and utter indifference.
  15. Tht guy killed the Bills last year in the snow game as well. Send him to hawaii.
  16. 47 yards is no gimmee on a warm calm day.
  17. Yes. Jauron was a very risky hire. Not taking risks in sports or in business is risky.
  18. Good execution of poorly designed offense and defense = mediocrity.
  19. Losing streaks must be longer and more common than the winning streaks.
  20. Just listened to Trent's presser from today. He says Brown defensive coverages were different from what he studied on film from the Broncos game the week before. OK. Could I be the only one that is horrified to hear that? So what he is saying that the coaches put that film in front of him and they studied that without preparing him in the event the Browns played differently? maybe it would make sense for the coaches to look at more than 1 previous Browns game? How about a little contingency planning gentlemen? In other words, the Browns looked at the Bills and decided to change up their coverage based on what the Bills do. The Browns coaches decided to give the young QB a different look. The Bills coaches did not prepare Trent for anything else. My hat's off to the Brown's coaches for taking a plan to the field that the other team might not expect and a plan that attacks what the other team does. Fire Jauron.
  21. Yes, but it is the coaches that put the game plan together. The defensive plan that does not appear to force turnovers (weak pass rush, cover soft). The offensive game plan has been so predictable (run or pass) that other teams know what's coming. That helps the opposition generate turnovers when they can adjust pass rush and coverage to tendencies. This coach does not get the most from his players in terms of production. He might get effort, but production comes from scheme as well.
  22. All the more reason to be looking hard right now for coaching candidates. It's not easy to find a winner.
  23. Yes we are. We hoped that when he was hired we'd be getting the older, wiser and more agressive Jauron compared to his Chicago days. We put some faith in him that he would have done a self assessment after his previous head coaching stint and would change his approach for the better. We assumed he would not repeat his mistake in Chicago in hiring inexperienced coordinators. We assumed that his previous experience would allow him to be a better in-game coach. We assumed that he would have learned that a good QB is more than just a "game manager". We assumed that he would have learned that if you only play to keep the game close, you lose as much as you win. What we're seeing in the same conservative and predictable coach that produces mediocre results. The Bills have turned over a good part of the team on his watch with nothing to show for it other than a .500 record. What evidence is there that staying with this guy will result in playoff victories EVER? I don't see it. Better to get rid of him too early than to hang on too long. This team has good young talent and deserves a coach that can develop that potential and lead these young men to places they have never been rather than to let them only dream about it.
  24. Nothing wrong with either QB in my opinion. Coaches need to design a winning game plan. If Belichick were coaching this team, both QBs would have great numbers. Jauron won't succeed with any QB unless he gets a guy like Favre who decides to call his own plays in the huddle and ignore the coaches.
