Potential Altered Offseason/Start of Season Thoughts
H2o replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here in VA the governor just issued a "Stay-At-Home" order effective until June 10. If we still think that the season is anything other than in jeopardy at this point we are lying to ourselves. -
First off, I have no ill will towards Tyrod. He was a good guy, a great teammate by all accounts, and a class act while he was here in Buffalo. Despite his flaws as a QB, he was the QB that led the team to their first playoff berth in 17 years. We all know what those flaws were, but there is no sense in bashing him for them now. He served this team fairly well in his time here, we got a GREAT return for him, and now he's with Anthony Lynn in LA. Best wishes to Tyrod who has done well for himself and his family in the NFL. If Tyrod does end up being the starter for the Chargers this year they have a team where he could be semi-successful. They already have a more than solid defense in place and they have some quality weapons on offense. The offensive line still needs some work, but Tyrod is an extremely mobile QB. He's not going to all of a sudden turn into a superstar, but he can be effective. If they remain relatively healthy then they could be competing for a WC spot in the AFC.

Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

Regardless of whom is the starter at RT or any of the G positions, we have options. Really solid options and quality depth like we haven't seen on this team in years. Ford is only going into his 2nd season. He is under contract for 3 more years. I have faith in our coaching staff, especially Bobby Johnson, to have figured out where he belongs by then and that he will be a key piece to our OL wherever that may be. -
He an arrogrant prick, just like he was when he played.

RB is a really GLARING need, right?
H2o replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have options. It's not a "GLARING" need really, but I do look for them to address the position at some point. -
Is this a cheap shot of some kind?

I honestly believe we are done with FA until after the draft. We've traded for our #1 WR in Diggs, re-signed Spain, extended Poyer, brought in Klein(LB), Butler(DT), Addison(DE), Jefferson(DE/DT), Matakevich(LB), Jones(RB), and Norman(CB). There aren't really any glaring holes left on this team. I think they see how the draft falls for them and make a couple more moves after that. -
Still got my fingers crossed for this one

Drew Brees has ALWAYS been as about an upstanding individual as you could ever find. He is one person who has always used his place in life to make a difference. This is another fine example.

Not really seeing a TE in our 2nd Round future, but the two best TE's in this draft will likely be (1)Cole Kmet from Notre Dame and (2)Bryce Hopkins from Purdue. The Missouri kid, not even going to try to spell his name, has a ton of upside athletically as well. The class overall is not as strong as last year, but there will be at least some guys who can make an impact. Kmet is a complete prospect who has good size, good speed, can block, runs solid routes, and has good hands. Hopkins is an excellent receiving option, but I can't say I know much about his blocking prowess. Don't really know much else.

Starting to think there is no way they play football in 2020
H2o replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing this will be a tell-tale sign of is how players truly train when left on their own in the offseason. How many guys will keep themselves in proper physical condition? I'd expect a large spike in injuries this year in general if they do play due to the fact players haven't been training at their facilities. As of right now though I am fully expecting no football, college or professional, until 2021.
