  1. Which is why Roger came out and told Beane he wasn't allowed to say that? That's the thing, there is no league wide mandate. That means it seems discriminatory to use it as a reason of termination.
  2. Exactly. Avoid the article like it's the Peter Pan guy. Glad to have Diggs in the B-Lo.
  3. Not really. They just usually have designated areas where they can smoke, are allotted certain breaks to smoke, or they may not even be able to smoke while at work in some instances. They don't lose their jobs on a whim because the company they work for tells them they have to quit and they refuse.
  4. That's crazy. I had never heard that before. I think that Urban's ego will end up killing his shot in the NFL. A lot of the tactics he used with college kids will not fly with these grown men making more money than him.
  5. I understand what Beane is getting at as well, sort of, but the message it sends is "either you do this or it may cost you your way of making a living" which in my opinion is discrimination. It's trying to manipulate a person to do something they may not do otherwise and takes away the "choice" aspect of it in all of this. I want my team to win too. I've been hoping for a Lombardi for 30+ years now. At the same time, I cannot agree with this stance. If they choose , on their own, to get it then good for them. If they choose, on their own, not to get it good for them. In no way should they be pressured to feel obligated out of fear for their livelihoods. The correlation you make is not even close to the situation at hand. This is nothing near in comparison to driving while intoxicated.
  6. To me, and this is just me, it seems kind of discriminatory. Don't you think? There are rules and regulations against discrimination for many other things which make it illegal. Is this any better? It should be a personal choice whether you do or you don't and not forced onto anyone using manipulation tactics. Simple.
  7. Yes, Josh played well against Seattle, but he was also sacked 7 times that game. If we can get the running game going then Josh is going to take a lot less punishment, but still likely put up similar numbers due to the defense not being able to key in on any one aspect of our game.
  8. He also has to be released first, which he has not as of yet.
  9. We all saw Josh put up some amazing numbers last year. Yards, TD's, low turnover ratio, 2nd in MVP voting, and he broke all kinds of Bills records. There is no denying the young man's growth. I found this article from an interview with Ravens newly signed OT Alejandro Villanueva very interesting though. He talks about how important it is to at least have balance for the OL between the running and passing game. It helps to keep the pass rushers off balance and not be able to get into a rhythm as he put it. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Many teams basically pinned their ears back and came at Josh all game long because there was honestly no threat of a running game. Last year Josh was sacked a total of 38 times, including the playoffs, but he was hit a hell of a lot more. We all remember Feliciano clapping on the field when we ran the ball a couple of times in a row and had some nice gains. The big guys love that stuff, being able to maul people moving forward instead of always trying to hold your ground upright. Yes we were 13-3. Yes we made it to the AFC Championship game. It was a great season. But if we are going to get where we want, hoisting a Lombardi, I believe we need a bit more balance. If we can get our big guys going, and keep defenses guessing, then it will just open up things for Josh that much more. He will also get hit less. Our RB's only accounted for 81 yds per game on the ground, between all of them. Singletary and Moss were #37 and #43 last year in the NFL in yards per game. If we can get this ground game going then I think we take that next step, with that next step being Super Bowl.
  10. In all honesty I don't know where he will lay his weary head to rest, but I don't think it will be here. He's barely averaged over 3 ypc since his rookie season in 2018. My guess, and this is just a guess, he ends up in Atlanta.
  11. OU @ #1? All Alabama does is reload. What kind of QB play does UGA get? Overrated they are imo. Iowa St. @ #6? Yeah, nah. Cincy in the top 10? Nope. I think ND might be ranked a little high @ #12. QB is a big ? and the defense lost some key players as well as their DC. Except for a few oddballs thrown in there, it is the usual suspects after that.
  12. Remember when some people were claiming Michel was a better prospect than Chubb?
  13. I was thinking a chunky Von Kaiser wearing a Chaplin hat.
  14. Maybe we can get a 1st for Ford?!?!?!
  15. WalterFootball has a TE on one
  16. It's not really a traditional 4-3, it's more of a hybrid Cover 3 type of defense. The OLB's will line up on the edges in many instances. I think he will benefit more because he'll have more one-on-one's.
  17. To be fair, Aaron Rodgers has always been a bit of an arrogant a**hole within that organization. I understand his gripes as of late though. This also seemed to go to a whole new level when they brought in Matt LaFleur. They, by all accounts, didn't really hit it off early. Maybe it was Rodgers being a d*** or maybe it was a clash of egos? I have no idea. Then in the deepest WR class this millennium they chose not draft a WR to help their face of the franchise star QB, but instead trade up for a project QB in the 1st Round. Then in the 2nd Round they follow it up with another RB, though I really liked AJ Dillon as a prospect, when they already had Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. They could of had any of Tee Higgins, Pittman Jr, Claypool, Shenault, KJ Hamler, Van Jefferson, Mims, Gabe Davis, Duvernay, Bryan Edwards, Tyler Johnson, Darnell Mooney, any WR you can think of taken 26 or later they had an opportunity at them all. So Rodgers lines up at practice every day and suits up for every game with his 2nd, 3rd, 4th options being Valdez-Scantling, Eq St. Brown, and Alan Lazard. He still wins an MVP and carries the team to the NFC Championship game. Then his coach chooses to kick a FG late, instead of sack-up to go for it, and it ends up as one of the deciding factors in the loss. Then, again, in the 2021 draft they take a head-scratcher at CB with their 1st, an OL'man in the 2nd, and then WR (finally) in the 3rd. Analysts are all saying, "Oh, Aaron will be happy with this pick." I think Aaron truly gives 0 f**** at this point and wants out regardless. I don't think the $$$ will be the determining factor either. His net worth is $120M. I'm sure the Jeopardy gig would be quite lucrative for him. He would still be able to do his endorsement thing as well. Don't be surprised if he doesn't show up in July or if he shows up strictly on a Marshawn Lynch basis, "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
  18. Yes, Warren G was Dre's step brother. Nate Dogg and Snoop are cousins.
  19. A full, semi-normal offseason is going to benefit both Singletary and Moss imo. Weight room, offseason workouts, Mini Camps, it's all going to make a difference. Does Singletary all of a sudden go from a 4.6 to a 4.45 guy? Highly unlikely. But when the season gets going, I am expecting two different players on the field. Throw in Breida who has that speed we didn't have before and I think our RB stable isn't as bad off as people make it out to be.
  20. Josh's rookie season the OL was a glaring weakness. Our starters were as follows: Dawkins (LT) - Ryan Groy (LG) - Russell Bodine (C) - Vlad Ducasse (RG) - Jordan Mills (RT) Depth: Conor McDermott, Wyatt Teller (made a mistake trading that one), Adam Redmond, John Miller, and Marshall Newhouse Outside of Dawkins, that was an absolutely atrocious OL. Offensive even. No wonder we have so many highlights of Josh absolutely running for his life during his rookie season. We made one mistake in not keeping Teller, but such is life. Now, going into Josh's 4th year, our starting lineup consists of: Dawkins (LT) - Ford/Lamp/Feliciano (LG) - Morse/Feliciano (C) - Ford/Lamp/Feliciano (RG) - Williams (RT) Depth: Ford/Lamp (depending on which one does not crack the starting lineup), Brown, Doyle, Bates, Boettger, Anderson It's night and day here with the talent level swing on the OL over the last 3 years. We have gone from it being one of the weakest spots on the team to one where us on the board are having convos about flipping guys for picks because there's just not enough room to keep them all. Beane and McDermott don't get enough credit in this area imo. The options we have for starters now and the depth behind them is really good. We also have guys with have the potential to plug in as starters at some point down the road over the course of their rookie contracts. Guys like Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle, and Jack Anderson all have that potential according to all of the post-draft interviews I have seen. It's great "problem" to have.
  21. Without Rodgers, the Packers will be stuck in purgatory. They won't be contender and they won't lose enough to get a top QB prospect. Unless you believe Jordan Love is gonna be that good. I don't.
  22. I don't see CB as a problem. I like the young guys we have in Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis. Wildgoose looks like he fits the mold on defense. Levi will be used more in rotation imo, as I think Dane will be the starter, and serve as solid depth. Johnson isn't bad in the slot. The main thing is getting pressure on the QB. You get pressure on the QB and it makes ALL of your DB's look better. I expect Epenesa to take a step forward with a full offseason in the strength and conditioning program as well as being involved in workouts. I hope Rousseau comes in and gets to work. I have REALLY high expectations for Basham. If Rousseau turns out to be a hit then this front is going to be scary. Addison is more here for being the solid vet depth at this point. But if Hughes, Epenesa, Rousseau, and Basham are constantly being rotated with all of them getting after it? Whew. Our DB's are gonna be out there making all kinds of plays because the opposing team's QB will be under constant duress.
  23. He's a 5'6" RB, without blazing speed, who doesn't offer much in the receiving game. How many LB's is he picking up on blitzes? How many DE's is he going to be able to slow down who evade the first level of blockers? He was a good story at UB, but he's just not that intriguing of a prospect when you take everything into account.
