  1. I had the same thought watching it live. I guess he's always going to get looked at on those plays, given his history...
  2. Good question. Hussey was the guy who threw it--from long distance and with a partially obscured sightline. I believe he was also the guy who threw the ticky tack holding flag on Urbik...
  3. And yet there were plenty of series where they let the DBs/WRs be plenty physical as well. Just too damn inconsistent from call to call and series to series, IMO...
  4. Don't even wanna watch. I'm tired of the talk and video-friendly 'emo'. We need a game day coach who delivers on the field rather than in front of a camera...
  5. Mafia, Smafia. More like the new organized crime syndicates...Fan Duel and Draft Kings...
  6. Hussey was standing at least 10-12 yards behind Tyrod on that play and in the FOX feed you can see his view was shielded by the other Bills lineman. IMO, just too many 'radar' calls today by an inexperienced crew...
  7. The scheme works great against teams with mediocre coaching and/or inexperienced QBs. Not so well against veteran superbowl winning coaching staffs with experienced QBs prepared to handle it...
  8. I'm only speaking to the first sentence by the OP, which is the heart of the matter. The second was just Labatt's usual hyperbole..
  9. Not miserable at all. Just disappointed with another game day flame out by the coaching staff and the undisciplined play of so many vets who have to know better. BTW, accusing people like the OP and myself who don't agree with your POV of thinking the season is over is pretty laughable...
  10. I have to wonder if this is the byproduct of all the new officials they've brought in as well. This was another crew headed by a rookie Referee, just like the Pats game. So many of the calls seem to be made by guys who are not in good position or were guessing what they were seeing when they were shielded from the play. That and a wildly inconsistent interpretation from series to series. It just smacks of inexperience and 'the game's too fast' for some of these guys at this point in the season. I hope this tendency goes down as we get into the second half of the year...
  11. I don't think the season is over any more than you apparently want to see rainbows and sugarplums in two poor home efforts. Until they act line professionals every game, on the field during the 60 minutes they're in competition, all the good intentions and potential are just talk. They have to decide right now if they want to be all hat, no cattle (i.e., like Rex) or play like the team they say they are but haven't shown consistently enough over the first four weeks...
  12. Let's rephrase then. Teams that want to challenge for the playoffs don't prepare poorly, play undisciplined over-emotional football and get out coached in 2 of their first 3 at home...
  13. Apt metaphor. Roller coasters just go in circles and never take you anywhere...
  14. The flag was thrown by the referee standing ten yards behind Tyrod. His angle and sightline was bad, but he 'intuited' Richie's intention to go low. Psychic officiating at it's best...
  15. I'd say it's not unwarrented. In the two losses they were clearly unprepared and undisciplined. That's on Rex just as much as Miami's woes are on Philbin...
  16. He was going for the waist IMO...and succeded. Calling penalties by reading the players' mind is a very slippery slope.
  17. Another crew headed by a rookie referee. I can't recall so many marginal or inconsistent calls (one series they let the dbs be physical, the next they're calling it the exact opposite way). At least four clearly blown calls made by guys in no position to throw that flag. The London game this morning was just as bad (23 penalties for 240+ yards). Hard to "sell the NFL" to a foreign and/or younger audience if they're going to make it flag football and 50+ FanDual / Draft Kings commercials...
  18. Well, this quote takes on new meaning after two dismal home showings in the first four weeks.... “I got news for you: I’m not changing. I’m going to be myself. I don’t care if you like it, or you dislike it. This is who I am,” Ryan said. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/01/rex-ryan-promises-buffalo-is-his-last-coaching-job/
  19. In a nutshell. They're a mirror image of Rex at this point...
  20. Same with his uncle when he wasn't much older. That history proves the light can go on for the kid. But it has to be a lot more substantial than just talking about it...
  21. Felton has been effective for the RBs that run behind him. In many cases that hasn't been Shady or Boobie. Karlos on the other hand...
  22. Who in the hell watches Sportscenter at that time....
  23. LOL! I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt...but this post tells me all I need to know. Firing up the 'manage ignore prefs' function...
