“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!” Trump tweeted at 7:45 a.m. Saturday. Here's what Curry had said that got him disinvited: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/trump-sticks-to-sports-with-comments-on-nfl-players-and-owners-and-steph-curry/2017/09/23/50e76dd2-a071-11e7-9083-fbfddf6804c2_story.html?tid=pm_pop&utm_term=.cb7cc1a46140 Curry attracted the president’s attention Friday afternoon. The Warriors announced they vote as a team whether to attend the White House, as is tradition for champions from all sports. Curry said he would vote against going. “We don’t stand for basically what our president . . . the things that he said and the things that he hasn’t said in the right terms that we won’t stand for it,” Curry said. “And by acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to. “It’s not just the act of not going. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion. You can talk about all the different personalities that have said things and done things, from Kaepernick to what happened to [Michael] Bennett to all sorts of examples of what has gone on in our country that we need to kind of change. And we all are trying to do what we can, using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light on that.”

Bills Kicker speaks about inequality
Lurker replied to MAJBobby's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
IMO, the Internet is a giant "Bell Curve" amplifier. Prior to the information age, the 'public dialog' was confined to a relatively small subset of 'experts' and 'thought leaders.' Now, with easy access to a keyboard and too much time on their hands, anyone--no matter how stupid or uninformed--can chime in with their two cents and slag those who have differing POVs. In other words, a tower of babel... -

Why Don't The Bills Run Reverses or Counter Plays
Lurker replied to BuffaloBillsMagic1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hard to run a reverse in the NFL when opposing LBs are faster than the Bills WRs.... -

No you don't, as with many NFL players. There aren't a whole lot of Joe Thomas' running around. On the other hand, you don't know what you've got [i.e., the new coaching staff / front office] if you don't give yourself an opportunity to find out. By week 6 they could have had a pretty good idea and it would have made sense to pull the trigger if they were like 2-4 with a healthy Sammy. Hindsight's 20-20, which is the Stadium Wall raison d'être... ("Look it up, Thuman!")

This was my thought as well when the trade went down. Teams looking to make a playoff push might have ponyed up more than just a 2nd if they saw him being healthy again.

IMO, the players signing onto this position are simply trolling tRump's "alternative facts." It's a subtle political statement...

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/left-tackle/ Seems reasonable to me as well. Glenn's started 66 of the 74 games in his NFL career to date, missing only the final five in 2016. In other words, the feet haven't been a problem up until the past nine months. Using revisionist history to slag the contract is a lazy cop out, IMO...

Lower Bowl seating - Obstructed views??
Lurker replied to supertutor13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It won't be obstructed, but pesonally, I always liked sitting up higher when I had my seasons Tix. You can see the running lanes better, and watch the play develop without the mass of bodies getting in the way, IMO... -

Meanwhile, just down the road... http://rbj.net/2017/09/19/democrat-and-chronicle-lays-off-three-newsroom-employees/ Democrat and Chronicle lays off three newsroom employeesRochester Business Journal - September 19, 2017 Gannett Co. Inc.—parent company of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and USA Today—has laid off three members of its local newsroom staff. Gannett President and CEO Robert Dickey this month announced plans for a corporate restructuring that would result in the elimination of roughly 1 percent of its employees across the company’s more than 100 news outlets. In 2011 there were 86 people under the union’s banner, officials said. On Tuesday that number had dropped to 32. “Some of those positions were lost to advances in technology and changes in the way newspapers deliver their product,” Guild officials said. “But the end result has been fewer people gathering news and ensuring the stories we tell in words and photographs and videos are as polished and complete as they can be and live up to the quality that our longtime readers had come to expect of the D&C.” -
