Congrats to the CFL Calgary Stampeders

I can send you my Grade 12 yearbook when she was a cheerleader if it'll help you get thru the night.... -
Where did you get this number from? Wouldn't surprise me though. Rogers greed and charging an average of $250 a ticket....he deserves to be embarrassed on an international level.

I think the NFL closed the door to CFL kickers after the Argos gave them Mike "That idiot kicker" Vanderjagt. -

The game was okay. Typically, people will complain if the game doesn't turn into a shootout. Considering the caliber of the QBs playing (both Calvillo and Burris were lighting it up this season), I think people were disappointed that the game only had two touchdowns altogether. The atmosphere was great though as Montreal is one of the most partying cities in Canada (the $10 lap dances don't hurt... ). And actually....Youppi was in attendence. -

I went to high school in Winnipeg with that sideline bunny (Sara Orlesky). Shaftesbury Class of '97. She was a guy's girl. Knew more about sports than some of the jocks did. Real popular. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
Heels20X6 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally loved the contingent of fans who decided to label Marshawn "Bustmode" and Leodis a first round flop. NOBODY runs as hard as Marshawn does, NOBODY. For the idiots who think we should just stick to Freddie, I hope you played close attention to what the announcers said about how much Marshawn and Freddie FEED off each other and are happy to be in the two-back system we have. Also did anyone catch the story the Wilcotts said about how when CBS asked for an interview with Marshawn, he decided to bring Freddie with him so they can both do the interview? That's pure class right there. RESIGN FREDDIE! As for Leodis McKelvin, he just singlehandedly SHUT the haters up. He was a one-man show out there. RIDONK PERFORMANCE. -
If you couldn't see the degradation in play by Trent from week-to-week the last four weeks and why it would a cause of concern to anyone (fans, media, analysts, etc.) they YOU don't have a clue about the NFL.
-
Exactly! One week of fantastic play dost not make up for 4 weeks of baffling play. Even Shaun Hill had a career game once this season.

Do we like Trent, Jauron and Turk this week?
Heels20X6 replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I now sold on DJ, absolutely not. In fact, methinks that Dick after Monday's debacle has realized he's coaching for his job now, so he's finally playing a little less conservative because he knows he was to win, not "keep it close". As for Turk, I fully believe his play-calling is HAMPERED by DJ. I think Turk has a great offensive mind at times (as shown in our first 6 games) but when the division match-ups came up, DJ dialed up the ultra-conservative and so Turk had to call it as such. On Trent, I don't think there were many here saying he was done. I know I myself felt the kid just lost his confidence and needed to get his swagger back. I can even pinpoint when he got it back. When he dove for that 15 yarder rush TD. Til then he still looked shaky. After that, Trent Edwards - QB of the Future returned it was full steam ahead. Also, while we're at it, why don't we call out the people who called Lynch "Bustmode" and Leodis a FLOP too? Those two are SICK. -
I haven't said much over the last 4 weeks

I don't buy the "need for stability" argument. In today's NFL with free agency, the cap and better NFL-ready players coming from the draft, a team can turn it's fortunes around from one season to the next EASILY. Look at the Dolphins, look at the Falcons. These teams were absolute MESSES last year. The right GM and right coach and voila! A competitive playoff ready team in ONE SEASON. It's been TEN SEASONS and we're no where closer to the playoffs than we were in 1998. That is inexcusable and reveals more about this franchise than I dare think of. -
But, but, but the players like him! They just need to execute better! The NFL is a tough league to get a win in!

Sorry...with aliens bent on controlling mankind. Ray Finkle's on watch.

...and there's an Area 51 and the government shot Kennedy because he wasn't a Masonite..... Cue X-Files music...

It's nice to see a talented young QB who isn't completely full of himself and a giant douche. Tom Brady...we're looking in your direction.

10 more years and we'll be there! P.S. Leafs suck.

can't really believe it but ...

What makes you so sure that the Bills can beat the 49ers? In the last two weeks, they took the Arizona Cardinals in their home, to the last play of the game (whereas the same Cards decimated us) and last week they scorched the Rams (whereas we needed a pick-6 to win). No offense, as I want to be as positive as the next guy, but Mike Singletary has the team ready to play. More so than Dick "The Walking Dead" Jauron has with our team. -

It's like battered-wife syndrome with some Bills fans....we've been beaten down so badly emotionally by this team that any sign of success (5-1 start) is held onto as the hope that those days will return. Even though the jerk (0-4) keeps hurting us, they keep believing he can change into the way things were. -
A QB's confidence, or lack thereof
Heels20X6 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent point Kelly, if the concussion was an issue, if anything, he would be wary of taking another hit and dumping the ball off too quickly to the check down instead of waiting, waiting, waiting...then check down. As for Losman, I too was hoping that after the third pick (which I hold on the coaching staff for putting him in that position to begin with) that maybe Losman could step in and give Trent some time to clear his head. With all the time that the O-line was giving them, I think JP would have been successful. JP struggles when the line is coming at him. He doesn't have the quick decision making ability but he does have the much stronger arm which he can accurately connect with receivers. A deep bomb to Evans would have completely changed the game. -
Sigh....that's what you get when you don't have half-retarded chimpanzees calling the plays on the sidelines and a QB who let's INTs roll off him like water off a duck's back. JK was cool under pressure. TE wets his pants and starts sucking his thumb when things go wrong. Why? Because DJ insists he wear a diaper. We need Dick Vermeil here to tell TE to take his diaper off (a la Larry Johnson).

Folks blaming Jauron are way off the mark
Heels20X6 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stand by my assertion that if Jeff Fisher was coaching this identical team, we would be 8-2 right now. He gets the most out of his players and doesn't blame personnel like Dick seems to be hanging his hat on. Even if we were 5-5 under Fisher, the games all would be balls out, exciting and gutsy. As opposed to this chicken-sh-- football we've seen the past 6 weeks. -
Elite by our low standards I suppose. Of course this is coming from the same fanbase where a percentage still believe that Dick Jauron is a good head coach.
