  1. Bro, that's a stone cold fact. Field position battle meant the plays we did put together didn't have enough impact, and of course we had some famous drops and just a total dearth of offensive talent last season. All that said, allen outplayed tom (but not well) and it's giving me hope for sunday. I'm on record saying i fully expect a loss, but i can't help but be a fan made up of hope and joy. No matter how much i step back from being a sucker hoping we beat NE, THEY KEEP PULLING ME BACK IN.
  2. OP, that is a very salient point. I remember that game, but i just looked at the box score and it's kinda silly how badly they out ran and punted us. just disgusting.
  3. i understand the desire to be forgiving/see the best in people, but it always shocks me how people seem almost surprised when a repeat offender offends again. richie, as much as i like him, is a drug addict and not exactly a good guy. the surprising thing should be when they keep clean, not when the fall back, to be honest.
  4. I have to start off saying i don't expect a win and think that our young and new O is too sloppy to really score on the pats. the one good thing is this year we seem to be able to put together long scoring drives a few different ways, so if we can get a couple of scores the confidence will inspire. if we are to win this game, some of our batted balls will turn into picks, we won't allow big plays, and we get some pressure on brady. the biggest thing that i think goes overlooked is field position battle. much like his sith master, parcels, billicheat has always had solid special teams and shoplifts cheap yards on punt returns, and generally puts the other team back as much as can be done. we will have to at least sustain a few plays prior to punting and pin them back, as well as avoid horrible holding and lame returns on their punts.
  5. he sucks and he's a *****.
  6. if the story about the gm and owner are true, that's insane. owner wanted jackson? honestly, that would solve a lot of the team's issues if they got him.
  7. in general i agree with alphadog, but while that was an epic road win, the mistakes by the O, and allen in particular, were pretty god awful until about half way into the third quarter. i think we have it in us, but the bills just have to improve and be more consistent to show they are a better than 500 team. i know we will be a better team at the end of the year than we are now, but the oline, the wrs, and especially josh need to clean it all up. i'm still excited for the team and expect another road win on sunday.
  8. shut your measured mouth! i want electric 30 yard bombs and long runs ripped every drive! pish posh to your "game plan". how dare you
  9. he looked like he's learning a few things. I don't want them to try to turn him into alex smith with short low value passes based on quick decisions tho, they need to mix it up and have him take bigger shots more often (which we did late, and it resulted in a win). that will also open up the d to the run, and allow us to show one formation for multiple plays, and multiple formations for the same play as well. i liked the sense of rhythm and such, just think we needed a few good runs in there to keep the d honest. at the end of the day, we aren't gonna beat the pats without some big huge plays, as well as adding up the gut punches of the running game to get them late, so we should start the way we want to finish. i think our O in the late 3rd and 4th quarter showed a lot of that.
  10. This o has zero confidence and it's deserved Disgusting
  11. Ya, our o sucks today so far. Cost us 6 points, and penalties took our special teams out of 3 And now we have a touch back, booooo
  12. Ok, so we have some potential on O, but right now we are simply still bad. We need either some hero ball big plays, or to win up front.
  13. We need to make the Jets d make a mistake, play action or something. Need some points bas
  14. That's basically a screw job by the refs. Cost us 3.
  15. Being a bills fan is masochist at times.
  16. I like the d and offensive game plan, not happy about the total blocking breakdown on those two consecutive plays. I kinda feel like we need to run with some success and maybe go deeper to open up the jet d
  17. he was what, 20 total TDs last year in his first season on a horrible O in like 12 or 13 games? This is based on my expectations of him becoming a great QB, mind you, but it's not that massive of a change for him to have 50% more total TDs in his second year with 25% more games and improving, is it?
  18. i think on paper the bills have built an overall better O than the jets, but that requires some kind of assumption of Allen being at least close to as good as Darnold, and our backs not being too far back of theirs. The issue is they are playing together as a brand new team, so you have to expect them to be the worst they are going to be all season week 1. Based on the actual match ups in the teams, and my insane assumption that our ST will not totally suck (they cost us houston and the 2nd jets game last year, just horrible) we should win the first game, but in terms of what has been proven vs reasonably projected, it is sadly rational to think the jets week 1 have a better O than we do.
  19. 30 total touchdowns and he's doing OK, 40 total and he's doing well. 3600 total yards and he's doing decent, that can be adjusted by how well we play special teams and run the ball tho. completion % to me is not as important, conversion rate on 3rd down is, as is turnover rate (on all plays, runs and passes).
  20. you don't add in linemen or shuffle the formation to necessarily take advantage of the qb's skills, if anything you want more weapons and less blockers for that. you change up linemen, go unbalanced, and jumbo formations in order to make the D pick a poison and exploit it, and it's all known pre snap (new england's specialty). short screen passes and running plays behind a massive wall of blockers work vs spread or pass D, and you can put one or two routes over the top vs a run D. if the D on the field doesn't match up well and lines up one way or another, you have all your reads done pre snap and just go. when the pats split a slot guy shallow and have a TE on the strong side, i swear i can guess more than 75% of the time that it will be a quick screen or shallow throw to the slot and an 8 yard gain based on the d line up. it's sad how they keep doing it, so if we are copying that concept, i'm all for it.
  21. NE has put in 6 many many times vs us, and have had 6 and one or two TEs and perhaps 7 from time to time. you've seen this happen, right?
  22. this is a good idea. It's another element in the rock paper scissors of the modern game. if you notice that the opponents don't have the right guys or fail to be able to recognize something, you put in a package that can beat them pre snap and make the execution really simple.
  23. lol, you mean that late round pick who has looked really good in preaseason?
  24. lol, dude, how long have you had that in the chamber? perfect pic.
  25. he's been playing the versatility and formation game soooooooo long i've picket it up, and i'm just a fan. sometimes i wonder if most NFL coaches who have obviously been seeing the same thing just aren't creative because can't seem to do it.
