10/6/2019 Bills @ Titans 1st half thread
colin replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
St has been kinda weak, d has been awesome (they net net got 30 yards in that last drive, 15 from bs roughing, 15 from the non call grounding) O has been meh, accurate short passing, 1.5 good drives -

Special teams cost us like three games last year, one so far this year. Better not be two today. Just no excuse -

So far each team is doing the exact same thing. Punts, 4th down turnovers, lol -

Hope they miss this. Also, our o needs to be able to run it seems. Just don't get it done with this five wide stuff Motor being out stinks -

If you don't like conditions for a fg, I think you can't run the same 4th down play again. An option sweep or rpo woulda got 4 -

Knox will continue to get open vs lbs. Bad punt -
I remember we sucked for the first long while but put it together some late, am I off? I haven't rewatched that game in a while, but watching some playoff games from late 90s to early 2ks a few years ago reminded me of two things: 1 players on good teams executed better back then (with the exception of dbs who for some reason are all just better now toy eye, but it could be impacted by item 2 below). I think it was because they'd stay on the same teams w the same coaches for longer, and did more and harder practicing. Not saying they were all better athletes, just better individual execution. 2 teams played so simple and coaches seemed to push matchups vs higher level sophisticated team ball stuff today. Play action, blitzes, etc. All of that seemed to result in much bigger results when done vs today. It was more about Willie's and Joe's than xs and os back then imo. I think coverage concepts and disguising happened less, and prolly dbs are better athletes now too. Before Dion the word always was if a cb could catch he'd be a wr, but now I don't think that's the case. I think the Tampa 2 d, robbing the big play, really accelerated the change. Total team stuff seemed to be dominating and then everyone had to adjust. Before that the west. Coast O would make a d look silly, getting a team in base d and just making easy plays for the o. This also reminded me of how much I dislike the pats for just being smarter than other teams.

Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

IT MAKES THE O RUN SMOOTHER AS THE BALL HITS THE GROUND! ARE YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION?!?! -
Make the trade for Stephon Diggs
colin replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be happy if this happened. I'd rather not drop a 1st, but Pro set w diggs, bease, smoke, knox, and motor is an all new all fast horror show for opposing Ds. -

SOOOOO, is there any chance that given how allen played early, they figured he mighta been able to come back in the game but thought maybe sit him even tho he'd play in say a playoff game or something? -

while i'm not exactly jeff sessions when it comes to the evil's of the herb, i've seen (both personally and via some published research) that chronic cannabis users experience anxiety as a function of being chronic cannabis users, so they need a dose to control it. i'm a hardcore caffeine and nicotine addict, if i don't get my dose i'm a mess, it stands to reason that abuse (and every day prolly qualifies) of a mind altering substance leads to a similar and potentially much worse result. -
Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5
colin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he is cleared and plays, I think he will come out like a house on fire. passing on 1st down to set up big runs and then play action. a road win via total team destruction is exactly what we need after the NE loss prior to a bye week. -
Mariota very effective vs Blitz, what's the D´s Game Plan?
colin replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully expect out D to dominate them. We need our O to play with confidence, Motor being back will be a huge lift. Constantly having tight ends and fresh backs in the game and mixing up run/pass should sustain a few drives and let us get to 24 points (i also expect a couple short fields from actually winning the turnover battle for once!). We seem to be good w the scripted drives, so getting off to a 10 or so point lead taking their biggest weapon (running) off the table early should make for a W. -
Depending on the outcome of tomorrows game...AJ Green
colin replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
assuming he is examined and they feel that he's gonna get healthy, i'd jump all over a 4th for Green. Our biggest needs right now for this season: punter OT (RT really) WR we have some extra tackles on the team, and maybe they get better/our scheme accommodates them punter i just have no idea, does anyone ever trade for one? WR would be the biggest value add if we get someone with skills. AJ green is sick, but if there is someone better i'd take him instead. at worst we get another KB situation and blow a 3rd and some money. worth the chance of getting a giant fast sure handed guy who turns JA back foot floater picks into deep catches. -
im starting to think that the reason why Ty is getting rotated in and out is because he's got some kind of foot/health issue that is limiting him (could be he just gets tired fast or some such). they were willing to take burn from Star for harry, and they put that dude (can't remember his name, but i'm a fan) we stole from miami last year who just wrecks shop, so i think they are pretty motivated to put in whoever they think is best at that time.

Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
colin replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I lost faith in the moment. I kinda did a bit vs jets too. i will say tho, if josh were on the pitch in the 4th (the entire 4th) and not knocked out, we walk away a winner. alpha once again puts the focus on the WR situation. I think we are gonna have to run 21 personal a lot once Kroft comes back. tiny wrs who get open all over, two giant athletic TEs, and a do everything back. basically what the pats do. -
loooool. shut up man! at least give us some hopeful takes while we marinate in this heart breaker loss. I will say, I think zay's problem is that he can only catch a ball when things are going just right for him, that's why he never seems to adjust for the play or come back to fight off josh's all to frequent picks. cole and brown can make great snags, and knox looks like he can flip and fight for a ball, but zay only catches balls that are not contested and come to him at just the right time.

An observation on Josh Allen's three picks
colin replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
allen can throw an accurate pass, he just has THE WORST HABITS sometimes. roll right, attempt a hero pass off balance. he's done that no joke like 8 times this season, all with bad results (sacked out of FG range, picks, intentional grounding). he was garbage vs green bay last year, i wonder if when things are going good, he faces his childhood heroes and just lets it get to him. as garbage as he was, i think we win if he didn't get knocked out. -
I agree with going out and upgrading. I think our biggest issue is our punt game tho. Just sucks.
