NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll
Jon in Pasadena replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would feel a lot sorrier for the Bengals getting mildly jobbed by this decision if not for these two plays prior to DH injury: s***bag Hurst diving onto Taron Johnson's head with intent to injure s***bag Hendrickson rolling into Josh Allen's legs with intent to injure In light of those two plays, I choose to consider the NFL's decision to be proportionate and fair. Note, this has nothing to do with my thoughts on how the Bengals' coach and players conducted themselves during subsequent events, which I found quite admirable. I can compartmentalize the MNF game into pre-DH and post-DH. -
I was surprised as heck when my younger son announced out of the blue last Spring (sophomore year) that he wanted to play football. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't have some concerns, especially since, unlike most of the kids, he had never played organized fb at any level. But after checking out as many factors as I could, (coaching, medical support team, etc) I decided to let him go for it. He dove right in, worked his tail off in Spring practices, fought through some early training-related injuries, learned the playbook inside and out, and went from basically knowing nothing to becoming an impact player at OLB by the end of the season, and helping his team make the CIF playoffs for the first time in five years. There is still a level of worry about concussions, etc., but my angst about some possible low-probability freak accident was offset to a degree by seeing the joy on his face in those special moments, like when the announcer called his name on three consecutive plays (tackle, TFL, PBU) and when they found out they were playoff-bound. Life is all about managing risk, and IMHO everyone has to make their own best decisions for their family.

Eff that noise. Three hours sleep plus the adrenaline rush of a big Bills W is plenty for the TO-MIA run. -

Japan and Croatia are very well matched. This one could come down to a PK shootout.

A few years ago I was riding to work on my MC. On the freeway a medium-sized panel truck in the next lane over and around 20 car lengths ahead of me started to weave in and out of his lane, clipped some lady in a Mercedes, and caused a nasty accident involving more vehicles that hit both of them. I was literally dodging flying chunks of truck as it came apart. I'm pretty good, but I don't think I could have dodged the entire truck though.

Obscurity like the... 1972-73 Dolphins? (lost Bob Griese, replaced by Earl Morrall) 1980-81 Raiders? (lost Dan Pastorini, replaced by Jim Plunkett) 1987-88 Redskins? (lost Jay Schroeder, replaced by Doug Williams) 1990-91 Giants? (lost Phil Simms, replaced by Jeff Hostetler)😢 2001-02 Patriots? (lost Drew Bledsoe, replaced by #!$!*#*!) 2017-18 Eagles? (lost Carson Wentz, replaced by Nick Foles) The kind of obscurity memorialized by permanently engraving your team & season into a large silver object?
