  1. I hope Roscoe returns this week. I'm excited to see him make some plays for us. Would be another boost to this offense.
  2. I think I'm slightly bothered at the title of this thread. He's done a good job thus far but to call him the franchises savior is a bit much, no? You're not giving some of the other cast members any credit whatsoever. Post this again, with the same exact title once we win the division, or get in the playoffs.
  3. Immaturity and stupidity wrapped up in one post!! ding ding. I agree with the original post. I think we're all happy the Bills are winning but not ecstatic yet because we've beat 2 average teams. But hey, Kelly H is 2-0. We'll see what happens in Oakland and New England. I'm looking forward to seeing everything transpire in the next few weeks.
  4. That's what I was thinking. Lindell doing well has been a nice story but he's not more valuable than Willis. 140 yards today baby!
  5. I wouldn't mind that at all. One better - "McGee and Clements sign extensions with Bills"
  6. Regarding our offensive line; this is the first time they have played together since the Houston game because of injuries. I hope we can keep them healthy! Excellent run protection.
  7. no. there is no concrete proof available.
  8. "It's strictly a competitive advantage," he said. "If it gives us a 2% out of 100% advantage, I'll take the 2%. As minute as it may be, if it's an advantage to us, we're going to take it." Sounds like he's taking it more serious than you think. Maybe he doesn't think it's a big deal, but then again who does? It's just a reason to piss off the media and to get his 2% advantage. Just my take on it. Also from the NY Daily News: "In what can only be described as a case of extreme, almost laughable paranoia, Bills coach Mike Mularkey yesterday refused to announce his starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium." I hope he isn't becoming some sort of laughing stock around the league because of this.
  9. Steve Smith is officially a gamebreaker so if Roscoe turns out to be a similar player, we'll be very lucky. I have my doubts because of his lack of size, I think Smith is a lot bigger than Roscoe (in terms of weight, at least) so he's able to break tackles easier and not worry about getting killed upon impact. We'll see.
  10. im with you. im excited about us being close to 100% offensively but cautiously optimistic about what we do this weekend because of the playcalling as of late. i agree about the predictability as well. but maybe this weekend we get to find out how good this offense can be, or cannot be. we'll see. now im excited! in today's paper clements agreed that we NEED to take more shots downfield. with roscoe possibly coming in maybe that becomes more of a realistic possibility.
  11. I think that's what bills_fan was saying. After this season, we'll do without Teague and Posey's salaries. Well, Teague for sure. Dunno whats the deal with Posey's contract but I know TD likes him enough to potentially re-sign him. Re-sign Nate. Pick up 3 or 4 new O-line talent. Pick up 2 D-line guys. Keep Gandy and B. Anderson for depth. Cut ties with Jerman please. Restructure Mike Williams contract and make sure he's not killing us financially. Let's part ways with Bannan as he's done nothing for us except 2 goal line stints as an offensive lineman. DO NOT RE-SIGN RON EDWARDS. Let him go. Restructure E-Moulds contract. Damn, we could have a lot of off-season transactions. WAYYYYYYYYYYYY TOO EARLY TO BE THINKING ABOUT THIS. Screw it - I'm just going to enjoy the rest of the season.
  12. name me a better "cutting edge motivational tool" a coach has used recently. at least BB is doing something to motivate his guys. to clarify since you are obviously confused - i don't consider it some stroke of genius on BB's part. i do give him credit for doing something a little different. please don't exaggerate a compliment.
  13. so you WERE serious? please. you must not know anything about motivating people. offering cheeseburgers isn't going to make anyone play harder. or want to play harder. its a nice reward after a long trip but not some tactic you'd use to pump up your guys before a game. i've been a boxing fan for ages and you can't compare watching an exciting back and forth classic to eating a freakin' cheeseburger. there are different forms of motivation for sure - and presenting a boxing match everygame would NOT work. it would get old. but if you do use it once a year and present it in a shortened version as did Belichick then you may get some hyped up excited players.
  14. thank you. in addition to that, speaking from a non-statistical standpoint Vick, when healthy, has gotten the Falcons to the playoffs every year and in most recently, deep into the playoffs. love him or hate him, they are very competitive with Vick. throw in the obvious stuff like the fact that the dude is all over commercials and makes the falcons a bunch of money because of his jersey/style of play/etc. some have even dared to call him the Michael Jordan of football. until he wins a few super bowls i won't say that but he is pretty exciting - that you can't deny. schaub is indeed a good back up. to say the falcons are going to part ways with vick and name schaub the starter as the poster originally indicated ranks up there as one of the all time worst statements in TBD's history. and this folks, is after ONE GAME!
  15. yeah because cheeseburgers are so hard to get on your own now adays.
  16. I agree with what you're saying. I do think our coaching is weak compared to some other teams. Pats watched Hearns-Hagler to psych up for Falcons That's an example of Belichick doing something a little bit different to get his boys going. MM will probably make the players eat more cheeseburgers next time we have a big game on the road.
  17. I appreciate the optimism but that just isn't realistic. 4 Wins? Pretty pathetic standards but I know what you're saying. We have to start somewhere. Problem is we haven't even STARTED yet. I'll have to see a glance of progress before I assume we'll start recruiting better and picking better coaches. It's been the same old story since we came to D-1. No one wants to come to UB and it's a shame. I wish we did have a somewhat competitive team because I've just started to really enjoy college football. Notre Dame is a blast to watch. As is USC, Texas, Michigan, Miami and a few others. Obviously those are huge programs and we'll seemingly never come close to those programs but maybe by the time i'm 100 we'll have some good games with Marshall.
  18. Maybe as our new defensive coordinator next year. I doubt he'd want to undertake such an awful program like UB. It would be interesting and great for UB if he did. There's no saving UB. I don't even think the problem is all coaching right now. We may see the Wildkats of ECC vs UB soon.
  19. The thing is TD knows his job will be on the line if we completely tank this season. Plus, there isn't much to disagree about between the both of them when it comes to naming the starting QB. Right now Holcomb is better. He's the safer option. MM and TD both know that. They so desperately want to salvage this season considering our division is still up for grabs. It's a matter of risk over reward. If JP doesn't see another play for the rest of the season that means we're having a damn good season with Holcomb under snap but that also means JP's development was put on the back burner. Whatever. I've got no opinion on what we should do anymore. I've heard every scenario and I just want to win. Let's give Holcomb a chance for the next few weeks; if he can do it - great. If not - let JP take over for the rest of the season.
  20. What a joke. You have been schooled multiple times on this thread and you can't even acknowledge the facts. First you say this line is built to run, haha. Yeah sure, but just because they can't pass protect DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY make them capable of run blocking. We have only had 1 game with our starters all in there (the home opener). Our line is abysmal. GREG JERMAN IS A FREAKIN' STARTER. While you were implying that others on this board must not watch other games of the running backs you mentioned, it appears you're the one who doesn't watch Bills games. Then you say Kevin Jones and Julius Jones are by far better backs than Willis even though someone showed evidence in statistics that Willis is not only holding his own, he's beating them in every statistical category shown on the post. Don't you dare say stats don't matter and are deceiving. If that's the case, I could claim JP Losman is having a better year than Bledsoe. It's just not true. You must watch ESPN Sportscenter and see some of these highlights and really forget what Willis has done this year considering the line he's given. Are they really good backs? I think Julius Jones is and K. Jones shows flashes of being really good. Everyone can see that but to say they're far better than Willis is laughable. Put them behind our line and you'd get less than favorable results. And then you say he's slow. So what? I consider him patient. Too patient sometimes. Ever watch Priest Holmes? Same style of waiting for that hole to open. There are plenty of great backs throughout the history of the NFL who have succeeded despite their lack of speed. In fact - we got to see one yesterday on Monday Night Football in Jerome Bettis. 4th or 5th all time in rushing yards. Not too shabby. That is also an example of having a good O-line which Willis has yet to experience. Just wait - maybe one day gool ol' Donahoe may draft and bring in some line talent. Depth would also help. and there goes my 100th.
  21. From this week's "Ask Him Yourself: Tom Donahoe"; ------- Now that is pretty funny. Particularly against the run? Yeah TD, that's why everyone gameplanned to attack Edwards. Check the stats, TD. I couldn't let him get away with that claim.
  22. Was refreshing to see. The only special teams player that scared me was "Fast" Freddie Smith. Everytime he was back there to catch a punt or a kickoff, I was pretty nervous he would fumble and he almost did at one point which would've really changed the game. Roscoe - come back soon.
  23. Josh Reed spoiled it for Willis (holding call). That wouldve looked great on the stat sheet and really hammered our victory home despite our lackluster performance in the 2nd half. I just like seeing Willis getting over 100+ yards. That one wouldve put him over 120 easily. Folks, he's doing this with a below average offensive line. Imagine the possibilities with some real talent on that line.
