Vcoach alert - JP not playing anymore
BillsObserver replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Settle down, freak. JP quitting on his team is obviously pure speculation. MM said he was too sore to practice Tuesday and if he missed 2 days of practice, he would NOT be ready for the game on Saturday because he needs (especially at this point) all the reps he needs. Simple as that. -
THOSE BIG BAD BUFFALO SABRES!!
BillsObserver replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent. I've been to 3 games this year already. Hoping to catch a bunch more. Only had 1 disappointing experience (vs Montreal earlier in the year, they beat us and I was surrounded by far too many Canadian fans.) -

You have to admit it was hard to believe the Sabres would be any good when they decided to let 2 top names go and pick up 1 guy who wasn't considered a top free agent. I certainly was disappointed with the lack of pick-ups but I guess Darcy gets paid good money for a reason - he knows what he's doing. Either way, I'm happy it's working out so well so far. I bet ya some players on some other teams wouldn't mind playing for us now. -

The best part has to be we don't have to play those guys for a while. Wouldn't it be something if we caught them in a week's time? I sure hope we start seeing some sellouts at the arena soon. Minnesota Wild sold out there 200th game in a row tonight! -
THOSE BIG BAD BUFFALO SABRES!!

Good to see UB following up with what they started last year. Even better to see the Sabres look like winners. This town needs a winning team right now. I love talking about them. What are we, 4 points behind our division leader? -

It's going to be a serious debate - should we really trade Marty considering what he's showed us in the past 10 games? If you are correct with your assumption that we'd get something big in return, I may be up for the idea depending on who it is. I just wonder if Miller is better than Marty. -

I saw that too. Somewhere Brian Blessing is smiling. -

So true. Thank goodness for the Sabres, they are fun to watch. -
No chance in hell. Jeff Fisher sounds better.

This is not even close to a good product, period. So predictably bad.. and boring too.
-
At this point anything IS better. I'm convinced MM is awful. We all know TD is awful. Is there any doubt we have the worst lines in football? Maybe Modrak can save us. Maybe not.

He's turned around an average (at BEST) program into a winner in one year. Remember what USC did to them last year? Funny how things change in a year. This year's USC v ND game was regarded as the best college game of the year. Weis installed a winning attitude. They are a top 10 nationally ranked team. This wasn't just a small step for Notre Dame. Next year the expectations are for them to compete for the National title. Most importantly - the offensive playcalling makes sense.
-
I'm a big Weis fan. I always wonder what he could've done with JP and this offense. Watching him develop Brady Quinn into a real quarterback and Stovall as a legitimate receiver has been fun. One more thought; who was the more established offensive coordinator at the time they were looking for a coach? I'm with the guy who's won some superbowls. I don't care if he was in the playoffs at the time we were looking because Cleveland hired Romeo at the same time.

Patriots week just isn't the same...

and if not - won't it be funny to see people's reactions on this board? -
Predicting the final draft order
BillsObserver replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice post. I can't see the NY Jets winning one more game this season. 2 words. Brooks Bollinger. I also don't believe we'll lose every game. We will likely win 1 of the 4, with the NY Jets game being the most realistic. This week's game is going to be the Bills' super bowl. MM knows his job is on the line, as does TD. I don't think we'll win but we'll battle. Weather may be a factor in our last home games too. I know this team comes off as a big joke most of the time but we had 3 games that could've went the other way if we had a real coach (See vs NE, CAR, MIA). We even managed to beat KC. I know they aren't the best team in the AFC but they did just beat the Broncos. Not trying to be the guy who always defends the Bills because I think we need help badly but you never know what you'll get with this team. There's got to be at least ONE game out of the last 4 that we win. -
uh guys we have New England this week
BillsObserver replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all for JP getting his first NEW ENGLAND victory. First of many to come, hopefully. -
I blame Nate Clements for dropping that sure interception he couldve taken back for 7 to seal the deal.
-
Shelton would've cost more than Gandy and didn't play well early in the year. One decent performance doesn't make you a good football player. I think Gandy has done OKAY. Not great or anything. So.... I can't look back on that decision as a horrible one.

It will be depressing if no moves made
BillsObserver replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This will likely be TD's toughest offseason to date. He's expected to fix and plug a lot of holes this off-season. I just can't imagine him pulling it off. Not because of his history or anything but he really has a lot of decisions to make regarding our possible free agents and restructuring of contracts or cutting them (Moulds, Adams etc) and add in the fact he has to bring in some new life to both lines! Don't forget the possibility of hold-outs and coaching replacements and I'm thinking this is going to be a very interesting off-season. But we're not the only team who has work to do. There are plenty of average teams out there probably saying the same stuff! -
How about a some rollouts for JP or
BillsObserver replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quite frequently is a stretch. I counted 2, maybe 3 times at the most. Ever watch Denver's offense? Plummer rolls out a few times a quarter. -
Jurevicious is having a great game. He was signed this offseason to be there 4th receiver! I always thought the guy was really good other than the major fact that he was injury prone.
-
What a fun game to watch. The Seattle fans are SUPER into it causing all sorts of false starts. A group of fans held up a banner that says "One Manning Down, One To Go." A bit premature, that.

Lot to be positive about this game
BillsObserver replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. My original post was misleading. I didn't mean to put all of the blame on JP (some people took it that way). He played good. The offensive line gave him hardly any time (except on the roll outs, he had a ton of time, wish we'd do more of that) and Willis McGahee couldn't do anything today (once again, offensive line). I guess my expectations were a bit high for him to finish off that game. -
He cracked Steve Smith on a return in the 2nd half prompting a lot of "oohs" from the folks at the Ralph. Significant enough hit to at least notice.
-
How can he do anything when he's not getting many holes to run through? Almost every running play he had to make his own yardage, or he was instantly hit at the line of scrimmage. This has happened the last 3 weeks. It's our offensive line. Put any good running back behind them today and he won't do much better than WM did.
