  1. Great seats Fez... No show in WV this year. So me and Mrs. Lew saw Alice Cooper at the WV state fair instead. Alice is 63 and can still rock the house
  2. Felt the quake in the lab where I work. Computer mouse was moving by itself...
  3. Felt the quake here in Southern WV.
  4. Happy Birthday CL !!
  5. congrats to Steve Stricker on his opening round 63. Awesome.
  6. The first half was dreadful for the US squad. Klinsman must have made some good changes for the second half.(Which I missed) It is still discouraging to see a US men's national match with a crowd that is > 50% for the visiting team. I saw a LOT of green shirts in the stands last night supporting Mexico.
  7. Cheap Trick is playing at ArtPark in Lewiston on Tues July 19.
  8. Sorry to hear this Scott. Prayers and thoughts for you and family
  9. This weekend Mrs. Lew and I went to our 40 year HS reunion. We both came away with the same question. Who were all those old people and what have they done with our classmates ? In all seriousness, it was fun and it was good to see friends. We just need to keep in closer contact.
  10. Congrats to the Japanese squad. Remember they are the 4th ranked Women's team so this was NOT an epic upset. I thought I heard Tony DiCicco say this was on the order of the US hockey win over the Russians in 1980 at Lake Placcid. This win by Japan was nnot on that level.
  11. USA 1. France. 0...15 minutes til half
  12. Why do I get the idea that the Senator is a fan of vodka.? I am with ya all the way.
  13. Even if you don't like soccer, what made this match so interesting was the level of the rivalry between US and Brazil. The quickness of the first goal added drama The intensity of the play was high. The penalty and red card really ratched up the intensity. The dramatic timing of Wambaugh's goal and Solo's save during the shootout made this a great contest. When talking to one of my buddies at work today , I compared Rapinoe's cross to Wambaugh to Joe Montana's pass to Dwight Clark against Dallas. THAT'S how good that pass was IMHO.
  14. With all the factors going against the US women's team, it makes their victory even sweeter. ignore the refs and enjoy the great plays made by the US.
  15. Set your DVRs for wednesdays match against France. and tonight at midnight ESPN2 will replay todays match as an "Instant Classic" Rapinoe's pass to Wambaugh for the second goal was a thing of beauty. Regarding the re-do on the penalty kick that Hope blocked. Encroaching happens, but is rarely called , like traveling in the NBA
  16. "Just give it to them"
  17. Many peeps will say "Yuck" but for a different summer drink try mixing equal parts of lemonade with beer. But not Guinness or pink lemonade.
  18. Japan's win over the host German squad is THE largest upset in Women's World Cup history. USA and Brazil on Sunday 11:00 AM
  19. All the matches are on ESPN or ESPN2. XM radio 207. USA vs. Brazil on Sunday at 11AM. The Brazillian star is Marta.
  20. Proper tackling can result in just as big, and highlight reel worthy hits. << from Dr. Dareustein's earlier post Just ask Mike Stratton about this. ...and sorry about your ribs Keith Lincoln
  21. Happy Birthday you young whippersnapper.
  22. ... memo to Tim. There was more Spanish spoken in the seats of the Rose Bowl last night than English. Congrats to the Mexican team who out played the US squad on Sat. The speed of the Mexican players was too much for the US defense. Losing Cherundulo to the ankle injury was the deciding factor. Feddy Adu played well. I hope that is an indication of things to come.
  23. 8:30 Sat night Fox Soccer Channel. Reliant Stadium looked great last night. Don't be surprised if the crowd on Sat is louder for the Mexican side. Landon's assist on Clint's goal was a thing of beauty. Great, great pass. GO USA
  24. FSC has it listed here in WV also. 6:30 pre-game and 7:00 kick off. Followed by Mexico vs. Honduras.
