............and so be those regurgitated with disdain by the right. Except I can't be so gracious as I believe the right knows exactly what they are doing when they lie, and distort the truth. The amazing part is how easily so many are mislead. Democrats are spineless fools, and the GOP is pure evil. Now, more than ever is it time for a no party system of all independents to lead the country.

RK Fast, shame on you. The same method used to pass this bill was the very same method George Bush used to pas his 1.6 trillion dollar gift to the rich. By the way, it was used 17 other times as well during his "rein". It never ceases to amaze me how the GOP cries foul when tactics they themselves used with impunity are used to get around their stone walling and refusal to help the everyday man/woman in this country. So I suppose you see nothing wrong at all with the fact that we have the most expensive health care in the world, by double that of Canada, and yet we lag behind in virtually all measurable and quantitative standards. That the health care industry is exacting a horrific toll on our economy in that it's voracious appetite for new money is taking money away from the pockets of the consumer who fuels the economy of the USA, one that is 70% consumer driven. Now that is sound business thinking there.... Oh I see, business knows best. Well, Enron, Lehman Bros, AIG, etc., etc., etc., must have all been the examples you chose to follow? A centrist movement is what we need, not extreme conservatism, or extreme liberalism for that matter. Marry an ideology, and parish by it. Finding common ground and building upon it, whoa....that sounds almost constructive...can't have any of that.

So Today is the Day, The Government Takeover
Spiderweb replied to WisconsinBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Bill. might you care to revise the GOP rhetoric as to the "American people" and the percentages for and against the "Bill". The stated math just doesn't quite match reality. One current poll -

You Sir, and I use the respectful and salutary "Sir" extremely loosely in your case, are a nut job. Sure, we just eight years of the dumbest president in our history, and you wish to follow that up after a four year break with the one person on the planet old George may have been smarter than? You are the problem. -
trade edwards to cowboys for kitna

KITNA ??? Are you insane or just trying to stoke a fire? -
That's all well and , well not so good. It is about really doing what is right. Deny the fact that health care in the USA is more than double (per person) than that of Canada, Japan, Germany, and Great Britain (as published recently by the AARP). Deny the fact that despite this massive cost already being borne by every citizen (in lower wages, etc., as no company pays this on top of your compensation as it is a part thereof), we have the highest infant mortality rate of these nations. Deny that we lead this group in preventable deaths (primarily because we have so many uninsured). Deny the fact that virtually every other country (top 20 economic powers) all have a nationalized health care plan (some are private but very tightly regulated and the pre-existing condition here exclusion is not allowed elsewhere). Economic drain? How about the spiraling costs (more than double in the last 7 years, again AARP). Where do you think this money comes from? The sky? It comes at the expense of the purchase of durable goods, services, etc. The drain on the economy is exactly why reform is needed. The voracious appetite of the Health Care industry for more funds is insatiable. Unless your are in the Health Care industry, you lose. If business is to rebound, it will require citizens to have the finances to purchase their goods and services. Remember that approximately 70% of our economy is consumer driven. To continue to deny that the current system is broken is beyond any logical intelligent thought. When do we finally admit we have a serious problem? When our cost become three times as much as the countries referred to above? Four times? Five Times? We have an employer based system and if it worked, fine, go with it, but business has failed in this area. In the mid eighties, HMO's became popular, and numerous providers became available. Costs seemed to be somewhat under control. Unfortunately, the many providers became fewer and fewer as Humana, and United Heath are (just to name two) began buying up smaller providers. Rates again then started to grow at rates far exceeding inflation. By 1992 it was clear to most where this would all be headed, yet, the money and power preserved and blew apart any chance of reform under Clinton. It's taken 17-18 years to get this debate back on the table, all while medical costs continued to sky rocket. Yet you see no problem? Nice of those who stand against this bill to fill themselves with self righteous indignation, but what is your plan? Do you even recognize there is a problem? Those against the bill suggest reform is needed, but not this, lets start over and do it right. That's what was said back when Clinton's attempt to reform Health Care failed. Does starting from scratch mean waiting almost another 20 years? By then Medical costs will have tripled again, or more. The bill passed tonight doesn't meets by beliefs either. It's not strong enough. Yet, the opportunity for another chance in getting things started could be far too late for me, and/or my children. Just as an aside, Nixon himself was working on a National Health Care plan that never made it to the House or Senate, but even he saw that something was going to be needed to be done. It's time for we Americans to come to grips with the fact that even though we may be a great nation, we are not always right. Health care is an area we have failed upon to date.

With Fabio getting a "Man" haircut...
Spiderweb replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just what the heck is a "man's" haircut, and WTF does this have to with absolutely anything? WTF is up with how anyone decides to wear their hair? Jeez.....some things just never change...sad, just simply sad. -
Copy that, and let's not forget that there's no way possible to rebuild this team in a year. If Green can give Buffalo one year, then so be it. It will buy some time. It's been said that Rome wasn't built overnight.... Jauron left this team in a bad way and like it or not, it will take two to three years to fix his train wreck.

Same QB's = Same Result = Wasted Year
Spiderweb replied to sabres...yawn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well then, it was in Brees 4th year that he really caught fire. Edwards is now entering his 4th year. Are you guaranteeing Edwards will have a QB rating over 100, have at least 27 TD's against no more than 7 INT's, and throw for over 3500 yards? -

Bills will seriously suck in 2010!!
Spiderweb replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It does have the feel for 2001 all over again..... -
This would be one scenario that could be a plus for the Bills, yet, it isn't going to happen. Bush, the few times I've watched him play, looked good.

I am glad we arn't running out signing Free Agents.
Spiderweb replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner, maybe....but unless we get a round 1 (not likely) or a 2 and a 5 (minimum), I'd keep Lynch. He's young. Jackson will be 30 when the season starts and age is something that catches up on RB's real quick. Moving Lynch would create another hole that would need to be filled. It would be likely filled by a lesser back.... -
"Whiners"? Many of us realize that Incognito is an incomplete guard. PB is poor, but he is a very effective run blocker. What he brings is a toughness that frankly our line needs, and as long as he could limit his past penchant for dumb penalties, he definitely would be of value and should have been tendered (or already under contract). Whining has nothing to do with it.

Bills do not tender Incognito, Jonathan Scott
Spiderweb replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tendering Incognito seemed like a gimme. I guess the "new regime" feels we can get O-lineman anywhere, like the moron Jauron. This does not appear to be a sound decision by the Bills Brass. Scott, on the other hand, played well at SS, and unless his injuries are worse than we know, he too appeared to be a shoe-in for a tender. -
Now this is was an exceptional talent for sure, but Bruce Smith mostly played in the 260's and he was a pretty effective 3-4 DE. It can be done, but it takes a real talent to pull it off.

Is there a plan besides reducing payroll?
Spiderweb replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
......to this, I couldn't agree more. Denney at least understood how to defend the run game, much better than Kelsay, and given his snaps vs. those Kelsay had, I'd say he was more effective pass rusher as well. Kelsy is the the overpaid mediocre DE on The Bills that needed to go..... -
After all these years, there's been no change..... forever beating the dead horse, and still managing to take all sides of of a debate.

New Spin On Shanny Not Coming To Buffalo?
Spiderweb replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I haven't lived in Buffalo for quite some time now, I did spend the first 30 years of my life as a resident of Kenmore, Tonawanda, Cheektowaga, and Williamsville. I can say that I will always think of Buffalo as home, but I have to admit (as Darren pointed out above), that Buffalo isn't for everyone. I seriously doubt the rest of the country lays there heads down at night and dreams of being a Buffalonian. Taxes, local economy, etc., along with the weather all conspire to paint Buffalo as a town to avoid. It's hard for us to think of our town as a place most people wish to avoid, but that's the reality. I for one, dream of the day that Buffalo and NY State get it together and recapture the greatness that once existed there, but sadly that's not likely in my lifetime. Let Shanny sleep with the devil....Nix and Gailey will succeed.
