  1. That's likely to be true, but Bulger took a beating running Martz offense in STL. His career as a proficient QB was probably shorten by at least three years because of it.
  2. Preposterous and ridiculous. Sure, there are some owners who clearly are absurdly wealthy and with their fail safe TV deal that included money for them in the event of a lockout (why do you think they are so set on a lockout - no lockout, no fail-safe funds from the Networks), they have minimized their own personal losses in the event there's isn't a season. The owners worked on this a couple years back in planning for what is going on now. For this year, it's the players who will get hurt the worst financially and that's what the owners banked on. Why do you, and many others, continue to berate the players for disbanding the NFLPA as a sham, while failing to mention or even acknowledge the lockout provisions the owners sought and received from the Networks years back? Your post is so much like what is reported on Fox, in that it conveniently left out key facts and data, so as to support your "opinion". If the lockout is allowed to stand, and I fear it will be, it will leave the owners in a position to continue their demands for more revenues not subject to any CBA, an 18 game schedule that only benefits them, a reduction in players salaries that will take them back to levels of 4-5 years ago, etc. Not one single item "improves" anything for the players, and they offer only relatively small incremental improvements for the retired players. With that said, the players themselves, should seek greater benefits for retired players, well above the owners limited improvements they've offered. Sure, that too would reduce what they can get now, but do these guys think they will be playing forever? With careers as short as theirs, long term benefits should be of keen interest to them (not Manning or Brady, or similary wealthy players who don't need any help) as most won't be in the NFL but for a short while. Yet, the gimme now mentality of the owners and players isn't likely to produce real improvements for those players who have gone before.
  3. ............... Finally, a touch of logic.
  4. Regarding the never ending one-sided view of some, the owners planned for a lockout at least a couple years in advance and that's a positive thing for contract negotiations? The NFLPA had little choice but to play one of the few cards they have. Allowing the lockout to stand could kill football for this year as all that will remain is litigation, and I'm not so sure the NFL really wants to fully test anti-trust laws. I for one believe lifting the lockout would do more to get both parties back to the bargaining table by far.
  5. Ah.... now that's some optimism, sadly somewhat in short supply around here.
  6. Ryan is a turd, and it appears yo seem bent on following in lard asses footsteps. Close but no cigar Jets. This year, you won't get as close...sorry. Your draft? I've give you one, maybe two. The rest......
  7. liar.....better than ANYTHING you've ever had.
  8. His selection is similar to the UDFA signing of Peters. Huge men (Peters came out of college as a TE) with athleticism. One never knows. I like the pick, low risk, high possible reward even if the odds are against it, it was well worth the flyer on him.
  9. While Moats showed some pass rush capability, it wasn't earth shattering and I have to agree with the stopping of the run. What he showed last year is some potential. I do hope we found a diamond in the rough with Moats, but before we anoint him stardom, let him earn it first.
  10. Nix recently said in a radio interview that he believes Donte doesn't want to be with the Bills, so he won't be.
  11. Fox is absolutely the worst and most biased, opinionated news available. If you're of a hard right political ideology, then Fox is the place. If you simply want the news without their bias, spin, and opinion, and wish to form your own conclusions and thoughts from facts, you have to go elsewhere and from multiple sources, and not just cable news. But hey, it seems these days many Americans like to be 'told" what to believe no matter how much they themselves will suffer from the ideology of the right. Politically speaking, to believe Fox is "fair and balanced", one has to first have a full frontal lobotomy.
  12. That's Fox's story. Tonights information, save that of Fox, indicated an operation was done today and he was killed in a fire fight.
  13. Florence already has his "big" shot at free agency. In the 2008 FA, he signed a 36 Mil deal with the Jags, of which 13 Mil was guaranteed. The Jags were so disappointed with his play, he was released one year later. We signed him in 2009. Florence is serviceable, but no where near a star. Capable of making plays, but equally capable of making really stupid mistakes that hurt a team. Just ask the Chargers........
  14. Pete, I think you got that backwards. A pessimist would say their glass is half empty, it's the optimist who says their glass is half full. Yet, your point wasn't missed. I too will be hopeful that these "new" Bills will be able to play, and contribute. I also hope that last years picks, Troup, Carrington, and especially Spiller will bring much needed contributions as well. I don't like our QB situation, but for some years with Fergy, and 11 years with Jim Kelly, we had a QB of stature and talent. We're long overdue another big time QB. Until then, Fitz is our guy and here's to a successful 2011 (if the idiot owners and players can decide the game is what is important).
  15. Yet I wonder if he will even reach the level of salary that he was offered by the Bills. The vast majority here don't believe he's elite and is undeserving of elite money, but it still only takes one over zealous team and......
  16. Ralph has been using a walker for a while now. Sadly, Ralph's days are clearly winding down and at 92 and a half years old, he has been using a walker for quite a while now. In pix with Nix, Darius, and Gailey, Ralph was hanging onto Darius as well as being held up by Nix. Every season he has left, is a gift from God.
  17. The first half of your comment above sounded just like dippy Tom Donohoe who brought us Jake Arians after letting Steve Christy go. Thankfully he wised up and then signed Mike Hollis and Ryan Lindell afterward to try to rectify his major blunder.
  18. As Nix said, "he's not as big as you guys are saying. He's down to 378 so he's drying up to nothing (big smile)"
  19. Is Bledsoe back?
  20. I would have gone QB, or Bowers....yet his knee must be bad or he'd never have gotten by the first three picks of the draft
  21. ...Fergie going Deep for Lewis..... Next question, when will the Bills officially showcase the new uni's now that the "word" is out?
  22. A number of the longer term posters will be back, but that will likely be when the draft dust settles, a CBA is in place, and camp or the preseason is underway.
  23. As far as special teams players go, Mark Pike was the unsung hero for the Bills for 12 years. Overshadowed by Tasker, but the numbers speak for themselves. Mark Pike was one of the best ST guys to have played the game. So can the sarcasm.....
