Sure has the ability/capability for the "quick" release, but as for combining that with quick decisions, that hasn't been the case the past 5-6 weeks. He's been holding the ball way too long and clearly the eight men in coverage themes thrown at him gave him a lot of trouble. Now that isn't all his fault as teams clearly felt Edwards would hurt them more than the Bills ground game (which has finally shown some life the past couple weeks). The Bills need to keep the running game as a part of the attack to get teams to play him more honestly. Unfortunately, the OL hasn't shown the ability to consistently move people enough to make the run game consistent. Too many short yardage stuffs and losses allowed by these guys. All in all, Edwards gave us hope early. Unfortunately, for multiple reasons, he's failed the the last 5 games more often than not. He's got "potential" but as Parcells says, potential only means you haven't made it yet......

Who Do You Feel We Should Keep On Our Team?
Spiderweb replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no issue with giving Kesay the boot, but Denney has played decently. Why he gets such bad press amazes me. While he's clearly not a star, he plays sound, and actually makes some plays. He may not be a starter, but he's a valuable 3rd DE. As for the hard stance on Peters, he may have earned some disdain for his holdout, but he's still a top talent. Don't let your emotions over rule your intellect. -
How long ago that start seems now....

A Few Thoughts About The Game
Spiderweb replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Humm, 1 out his last 9 or 10 attempts in the 1st half likely did have something to do with it. The misses more often than not, weren't even close.... -
#7...What? All we heard all week was how McKelvin arrived....shut down corner....Ha! the vet took him to school all day long today. Maybe he'll develop, but even againts KC, 2 picks asside, he gave up a number of catches and considerable yardage. Maybe he's a bit too much of a gambler. Bruce double moves today showed that Leodis isn't anywhere near earning the shut down label.

Emotion, intensity and attitude.

1960? I've been following the Bills since I was a wee lad when they lost the 1966 championship to KC. We've witnessed many a performance like today's. Sadly, it's actually all too common. -
Can't wait to hear JP's phone call to the Miami press..

With the exception of #7, I agree. Dockery and Walker actually have helped pass protection tremendously. Our O-line weakness is Center and right guard (sorry Butler, like your intensity, but your skill level doesn't match it).

Marshawn had only 1 carry in the 4th quarter

With the way the passing game was going, pounding it at that point WAS the only choice.....yet.... Schonert has shown to be an idiot. Against Cleveland when the game was screaming for play action (note: Edwards does need help with his play action fakes...give him some Esiason tapes) we ran. Today, at least on more run was deserving, we threw twice. Yeah, hindsight is 20-20, but our coaches (Schonert espcially) haven'tt shown one ounce of foresight. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
Spiderweb replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always felt Denney gets a real bad shake around here. Not a pass rusher, but generally plays very sound. Kelsay on the other hand with his rather slow wide up the field rushes 10 yards beyond the QB, and his penchant for being suckered in the run game because of his pitiful rush (wide and gaping holes left behind) still makes me sick. -
From the way the Bills D came back in the second half, no the players didn't quit on Jauron. This was a very simple case of the offense and Lindell) stinking the joint up today. A pile of yards, 20 to the 20, but then...... What was so damn frustrating was to the complet and utter futility the Bills showed in the Red Zone. Evans, Reed, Parrish, Hardy, the TE twins, none of them could make a play for a score. Not one....

Trade Roscoe Parrish during the offseason??
Spiderweb replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a mention of Parish, 14 returns to Faulks 7 ? I don't care where you got that from, it's wrong..... Check the Bills site, and check back on yours once they "fix" it. To claim Parrish isn't a top returner is, well, crap...... -
Trade Roscoe Parrish during the offseason??
Spiderweb replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hummmmmm, seems to be a bit of a problem with your stats. Roscoe's stats (punt returns for 2008 from Buffalo Bills official site): Roscoe Parrish : Returns - 14 FC - 8 Ave - 14.7 Long - 63 TD - 1 Seems a tad higher than Jackson and frankly pretty darned high in actually leagues stats.... -
Yeah, that pass was perfect.......NOT! Despite the lack of coordination by Royal, that throw to him when he wide open in the end zone was a total piece of crap.... ....and I think the only way Royal belongs in the "Ralph" is as a beer vender....

Jeez....Had to remind us didn't ya?

Nate Clements returns to Buffalo
Spiderweb replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for mentioning that POS DE named Chris K. The Bill Least Deserving of his Contract - Chris "friggin" Kelsay.... -
McKelvin has been getting playing time, and yes, it increased as the secondary injuries mounted, but KC still managed over 300 yards passing yesterday, and more than just a bit came over where McKelvin was defending. I loved the two picks for sure, but dag, in the other 59 minutes of the game......... Also, earlier in the year, he played a bit of nickel, and frankly, not very well. Let him earn his playing time for crying out loud. The two picks were great, but on balance he did give up a fair amount of yardage too. He may be a good one, so let's not go DB in round one again this year. We must get us some D Lineman, PLEASE.....
-
You really need to pay more attention to some individual play. Denney isn't a pass rusher, given, but he plays a far more complete game than that "sh*t the bed" Kelsay. Denney is a backup, but a sound and competent one. Kesay was called a "Phil Hansen" type when he joined the Bills. Christ, he isn't even worth Phil Hansen's old, dirty, used jock.

How sad, it appears all the fumbles, dropped passes, and missed blitz pickups have been forgotten. Yes, Travis ran hard, but definitely not any harder than Lynch. As far as the RB position, I'll stay with what we have now. Grab some old game film....
-
I'm afraid Hardy won't be getting there this year. He seems slow, runs poor routes, and seems almost lifeless when going for the ball. Doesn't use his size well, at least not so far. Nope, he won't be a serious contributor this year.

10-4 on that. Clearly the "King" is a King of a very small kingdom....

Jabari Greer welcome to your new role in the nickel D...
Spiderweb replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McKelvin did make a couple great plays today, but lets not get too cranked, the Bills D also gave up a lot of yards, and a alarming number of times, KC's receivers were uncontested. One step at a time, one step at a time... -
Josh Reed played his usual solid game, and it was good to see he finally got to get a score for a change. That was on a play action pass that was so woefully ignored against Cleveland. Here's to you Josh...

Great win. but no time to celebrate
Spiderweb replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While happy (makes for a better Thanksgiving week for sure) that the Bills won, I'm very concerned to see the defense get gouged as badly as they were by the Chiefs. -
At times, I might agree as I feel Jackson is one heck of a find. But, again, Marshawn's toughness is rare, extremely rare. He runs 30 lbs heavier than he is, consistently. Jackson, seems quicker which I like. Right now, the one position on the Bills that we appear to be set at is the RB position, with two solid to excellent backs.
